Summary

Every book needs you to turn the pages。 But not every book needs you to tap it, shake it, jiggle it, or even blow it a kiss。 Innovative and timeless, Tap the Magic Tree asks you to help one lonely tree change with the seasons。 Now that’s interactive—and magical!

It begins with a bare brown tree。 But tap that tree, turn the page, and one bright green leaf has sprouted! Tap again—one, two, three, four—and four more leaves have grown on the next page。 Pat, clap, wiggle, jiggle, and see blossoms bloom, apples grow, and the leaves swirl away with the autumn breeze。 The collage-and-watercolor art evokes the bright simplicity of Lois Ehlert and Eric Carle and the interactive concept will delight fans of Pat the Bunny。 Combining a playful spirit and a sense of wonder about nature, Christie Matheson has created a new modern classic that is a winner in every season—and every story time!

This interactive book has engaging text and beautiful illustrations, and teaches kids about the cycle of the seasons。 I'd never read it before, but a coworker recommended it to me, and it warmed my jaded heart。 This is one of the best interactive picture books I've read in a long time。 This interactive book has engaging text and beautiful illustrations, and teaches kids about the cycle of the seasons。 I'd never read it before, but a coworker recommended it to me, and it warmed my jaded heart。 This is one of the best interactive picture books I've read in a long time。 。。。more

Love this board Book。 It is about a tree and how it changes through out the seasons。 It’s interactive so your kids have to tap, shake, and the rub the tree for the tree to change。 What a gem!

This a charming interactive story which portrays the magic that is nature。 The tree is the main "character" who changes through the seasons, but not until the reader adds her bit of magic through the direct instructions on each page。 This book is wonderful to real aloud with children in a group, as they can participate in the magic which changes the tree。 This a charming interactive story which portrays the magic that is nature。 The tree is the main "character" who changes through the seasons, but not until the reader adds her bit of magic through the direct instructions on each page。 This book is wonderful to real aloud with children in a group, as they can participate in the magic which changes the tree。 。。。more

Cute book for interactive storytime。 It goes through the changes a tree experiences across the seasons。 There are no humans。

An interactive book that asks readers to tap, clap, and shake the tree to make different things happen。 The book follows the tree through an entire year and the interaction adds to the wonder。

I really liked this book because it was interactive and you could have the children touch the book to change it so that the next page would have a change to the trees。

Miss Pippi the Librarian

This is an interactive book that goes through the four season with an apple tree。Perhaps better served as a one-on-one vs。 a room full of children。2020 storytime theme: FallReviewed from a library copy。

Miss Sarah

A great interactive picture book about a tree through the seasons especially fall and its leaves where the reader gets to tap and knock and shake to make things happen。 Toddler and up

Denise Schlachtaub

Love it。 Like Press Here, this is a wonderful interactive book, even with a group (though a few actions need to be adjusted for a larger audience vs。 a one-on-one read)。 Simple actions, plus a easy walk through the seasons of the year。 Will definitely pull this out for storytimes on nature, trees, seasons, and similar。 Love it。 Like Press Here, this is a wonderful interactive book, even with a group (though a few actions need to be adjusted for a larger audience vs。 a one-on-one read)。 Simple actions, plus a easy walk through the seasons of the year。 Will definitely pull this out for storytimes on nature, trees, seasons, and similar。 。。。more

A lovely picture book about seasons。 You make the "magic tree" grow by touching, rubbing and blowing things on each page, so it is perfect for the little ones who want to incorporate actions into their reading。-Michael (Port Phillip Library Service storyteller) A lovely picture book about seasons。 You make the "magic tree" grow by touching, rubbing and blowing things on each page, so it is perfect for the little ones who want to incorporate actions into their reading。-Michael (Port Phillip Library Service storyteller) 。。。more

1st gradModern Fantasy Tap The Magic Tree is a very entertaining book that is a lot shorter than you'd like it to be。 The illustrations are simple, but the idea is fun and competitive。 I recommend this book! 1st gradModern Fantasy Tap The Magic Tree is a very entertaining book that is a lot shorter than you'd like it to be。 The illustrations are simple, but the idea is fun and competitive。 I recommend this book! 。。。more

Tap the Magic Tree was charming。 I really liked the incorporation of physical activity and how easy it was to practice counting。 I also thought it helped develop a grasp on seasons and how a tree reacts in each season。

I use this series of books all the time in my storytimes。 But due to COVID19, I attempted doing it online and I think it worked well!! A fun interactive book where the tree goes through the seasons。 It encourages movement and clapping and counting。。。。all good things for emerging readers!

Ali Book&Seaglasshunter

My preschool aged children just LOVE this book, and we have read it over and over。 They are convinced it is magic and love finding out what to do on each page。 Definitely a great book to get children hooked into reading if they aren’t already。

Lovely and lyrical, this interactive picturebook teaches the four seasons of an apple tree without ever using the names of the seasons or the words apple or fruit! With simple directions, the reader helps the tree to leaf out, to blossom, to set fruit, to harvest, to lose its leaves, then go dormant for the winter。

Cheryl

I read this book in storytime today。 The kids really enjoyed tapping the book and watching what happened。 This is an interactive book that shows the seasons。
