Summary

Hunters are a special breed, dedicated to tracking down treasures, magical beasts, and even other people。 But such pursuits require a license, and less than one in a hundred thousand can pass the grueling qualification exam。 Those who do pass gain access to restricted areas, amazing stores of information, and the right to call themselves Hunters

THE DAY OF DEPARTURE
Gon might be a country boy, but he has high aspirations。 Despite his Aunt Mito's protests, Gon decides to follow in his father's footsteps and become a legendary Hunter。 The Hunter hopefuls begin their journey by storm-tossed ship, where Gon meets Leorio and Kurapika, the only other applicants who aren't devastated by bouts of seasickness。

Having survived the terrors of the high seas, Gon and his companions now have to prove their worth in a variety of tests in order to find the elusive Exam Hall。 And once they get there, will they ever leave alive。。。?

I never thought I would pick up this series。 I watched a few episodes of the anime series, but I was not really interested in it。 I have heard so many excellent reviews on this series and recently I was quite in a reading slump。 I felt the urge to read something but had a really hard time picking up a book。 As for manga, I was at lost on which genre should I explore next。 So after thinking for a while I decided to pick this up。 And, I am really happy for myself, to be honest。 For me, Shonen mang I never thought I would pick up this series。 I watched a few episodes of the anime series, but I was not really interested in it。 I have heard so many excellent reviews on this series and recently I was quite in a reading slump。 I felt the urge to read something but had a really hard time picking up a book。 As for manga, I was at lost on which genre should I explore next。 So after thinking for a while I decided to pick this up。 And, I am really happy for myself, to be honest。 For me, Shonen manga usually won't do much for their first few volumes, and I need some time to fully immerse myself in the story and setting。 This is the same, but I found myself being able to focus on its world-building and the characters more too, which was quite weird as I tend to skim through when reading manga for the first time。 I think this is the charm of it! So, I will definitely keep reading it, and hopefully will be a big fan of it。 3。5 stars! 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This is a pretty good intro for the series。 We are introduced to the allure and prestigious career of Hunters and the volume has plenty of twists within it's pages。 I loved the twists like the navigators revealing themselves to be magical beasts, and the fake examiner that Hisoka kills。 Pretty entertaining for a little book。 I look forward to reading more。 This is a pretty good intro for the series。 We are introduced to the allure and prestigious career of Hunters and the volume has plenty of twists within it's pages。 I loved the twists like the navigators revealing themselves to be magical beasts, and the fake examiner that Hisoka kills。 Pretty entertaining for a little book。 I look forward to reading more。 。。。more

I've loved Hiatus X Hiatus since I was a kid watching the original anime on TV。 It's weird to think that I was 2 years younger than Gon and Killiua back then。 Now I have a decade over Leorio。 I've loved Hiatus X Hiatus since I was a kid watching the original anime on TV。 It's weird to think that I was 2 years younger than Gon and Killiua back then。 Now I have a decade over Leorio。 。。。more

I really love the anime and the characters but I was hesitant to read the manga。 Mainly because I didn't think I would be strong enough to through the Chimera Ant arc again。 But I know that the manga continues past that arc and past where the anime ended and my curiosity was peaked。 The volume was finally available on Libby so I just jumped at the chance and I'm really glad I did。 I wasn't expecting to like the art style as much as I did, but it was 4 stars。I wasn't expecting the abrupt ending! A very fun read。 I love the pattern of shonen manga。 It’s very up beat and positive; it’s about overcoming challenges and obstacles to grow and change。 Characters grow unlikely friendships and the use teamwork。 Throw it altogether in a crazy setting/world and you have the great makings of a shonen manga。 This is one of those truly great series that defines the genre。

Reminded me of how comic books still had an interesting flair of storytelling, this one in particular affected only by its messy hiatuses (it still is in one!) and some few pages of "rushed" art。 Best described, its a page-turner for sure![image error] Reminded me of how comic books still had an interesting flair of storytelling, this one in particular affected only by its messy hiatuses (it still is in one!) and some few pages of "rushed" art。 Best described, its a page-turner for sure![image error] 。。。more

Simplemente perfecto。 La animación buenísima。 Además al haber visto antes el anime me ha hecho darme cuenta que es prácticamente idéntico。 Incluso salen más cosas que en el Anime

THE BEST MANGA EVER!!Hunter x Hunter also has an anime available (though it's already completed)。 I cried so many times and my character attachments will probably never leave。 THE BEST MANGA EVER!!Hunter x Hunter also has an anime available (though it's already completed)。 I cried so many times and my character attachments will probably never leave。 。。。more
