Prince Izana is about to be crowned King Izana as his and Zen's mother steps down from her position as Queen Dowager。 It's a glorious day of celebrating for the Kingdom of Clarines。 But with a new King， comes new policies and management。 Everything is about to change。This volume was cute and adorable but not extremely meaningful， mostly fluff and sweetness， until you get to the end where something more serious happens。 But even that seems not-so-serious。 Shirayuki is still the practical and logi Prince Izana is about to be crowned King Izana as his and Zen's mother steps down from her position as Queen Dowager。 It's a glorious day of celebrating for the Kingdom of Clarines。 But with a new King， comes new policies and management。 Everything is about to change。This volume was cute and adorable but not extremely meaningful， mostly fluff and sweetness， until you get to the end where something more serious happens。 But even that seems not-so-serious。 Shirayuki is still the practical and logical and honest and an overall good female protagonist。 But there's little。。。 conflict， and the conflict that does arise seems to be glossed over or just fixed。 In other words。。。kinda boring。 。。。more

An impending coronation brings the Queen back to Castle Wistal and lots of familiar faces on top of that。 Izana has never gone out of his way to make Zen’s life easier and it appears that his becoming king definitely isn’t going to lead to any changes of heart。。。Another solid instalment of a solid series。 This remains an aggressively dependable bunch of characters to spend time with。 I appreciate the work that Akiduki has spent building these people and their relationships。It pays off even when An impending coronation brings the Queen back to Castle Wistal and lots of familiar faces on top of that。 Izana has never gone out of his way to make Zen’s life easier and it appears that his becoming king definitely isn’t going to lead to any changes of heart。。。Another solid instalment of a solid series。 This remains an aggressively dependable bunch of characters to spend time with。 I appreciate the work that Akiduki has spent building these people and their relationships。It pays off even when it’s an event， Izana’s coronation， that I couldn’t care less about。 That’s totally on me - the only thing I like less than pomp is circumstance， so I’d say you’ll be in heaven with all the gorgeously illustrated pageantry。 It’s still a ton of fun seeing all the preparation that goes into it。Something else I have noticed and come to appreciate about this series is how good it is at making it clear that a fairy tale may not be a， well， fairy tale。 Sure Zen and Shirayuki are in love， but they both have very important duties that constantly keep them apart。In fact， we see that come to a head at the end of this book， which sets yet another obstacle in their path。 It’s easy to see that as something deliberate by Izana， but really it makes a lot of sense in terms of the kingdom， so it’s hard to fault him doing the whole “needs of the many” thing。If there’s a negative here， it might be the glacial pace of the romance， which doesn’t bother me much， but some people might mind it。 I wish we’d seen a lot more of the Queen too - she seems fascinating and her aversion to rule was a nice bit of character work。4 stars。 When you enjoy the characters this much， you’re happy to spend the time with them even during a slower moment。 Not the best this series has offered， but I still really enjoyed it。 。。。more

This series once again brings about a major twist with this book。 With Izana’s coronation， there is a lot of excitement at the palace。 I was mostly excited because we finally get to see the Queen。 It did make me question what it everyone’s ages， though， because her design makes her look like 25 and I am still wondering how old is Izana himself。 There are some clues as to Izana’s age， with some flashbacks about Zen’s childhood， when their father died， and when Izana had to step up and take up dut This series once again brings about a major twist with this book。 With Izana’s coronation， there is a lot of excitement at the palace。 I was mostly excited because we finally get to see the Queen。 It did make me question what it everyone’s ages， though， because her design makes her look like 25 and I am still wondering how old is Izana himself。 There are some clues as to Izana’s age， with some flashbacks about Zen’s childhood， when their father died， and when Izana had to step up and take up duties alongside his mother because she was overworked。 The relationships in the royal family， at least from Zen’s side seems very formal， though， even though she greets them warmly。Shirayuki， by the way， in recognition of her title as Tanbarun’s royal friend， is given the duty of playing host to Raj， which means she can also be his plus-one to the coronation。 Their relationship has come so far， considering where it started。 Then we have the actual coronation， where Zen has the important role of being the one to crown Izana。 Visually， it is a treat， with new beautiful outfits on display - for all of them。 We also get some hints into Izana’s life， as he seems to give Haki （the Head of the LIlias Academic Distict） some importance at the coronation; I wondered if it is a subtle hint about them dating， and then he does ask her preference when she remarks on his hairstyle which made me think they are。 It also makes her comments to Shirayuki， regarding the brothers， in the Lilias arc more insightful。After coronation， as things are getting more hectic in the palace with everyone resuming duties and stuff， and Zen getting a bigger workload， Izana drops a new shocker into the reader’s laps。 I won’t say because spoilers， but really dude， so soon？？？Side note: Shirayki blushing when she sees Kiki in her miliatry uniform？ Girl， same。 。。。more

I received an ARC through NetGalley， all thoughts are my own personal opinion。 I have long been a fan of this series and I have read all 11 volumes so far making me familiar with the story。 I was drawn in by the main female protagonist and found her character development interesting and different from typical shoujo manga。 The series follows Shirayuki who has unique bright red hair。 This causes people to give her unwanted attention in various situations through the series and it is the inciting I received an ARC through NetGalley， all thoughts are my own personal opinion。 I have long been a fan of this series and I have read all 11 volumes so far making me familiar with the story。 I was drawn in by the main female protagonist and found her character development interesting and different from typical shoujo manga。 The series follows Shirayuki who has unique bright red hair。 This causes people to give her unwanted attention in various situations through the series and it is the inciting incident that leads to her meeting the male lead， Zen。 WHen she learns Zen is a prince she vows to work hard and get a job in the palace so she can stay close to him and help him achieve his goals。 Zen also pledges to support Shirayuki with her goals and the series follows their adventures。 This particular volume serves as a transition between plot events so it is not too exciting in terms of plot action but important events are laid out for the next arc。 This is typical with mangas so while not a surprise it is part of the tamer volumes of the series。 We do get some closure to storyline and character development that adds to the charm of this already amazing series。 。。。more
