I remember crying because I root for both Nekoma and Karasuno ://

Only one set in but so far I am currently falling due to being on the edge of my seat。 But I can tell that this is just the beginning and there is more amazing, surprising, shocking, and heart-warming developments ahead。 I can't wait! aahhhh The long awaited dumpster fight is here!! Here it is! The match that we have all been waiting for: Karasuno vs。 Nekoma! Yeah!!! Now this match did begin in volume 33, but I couldn't talk about it directly for it was not mentioned in the volume's summary。 Now I can! I have a lot to talk about even though a lot of it is going to be said in a indirect way to help mitigate spoilers。 The Shield and The Spear"A level-headed, disciplined Shield and its best possible partner, one that makes its decisions easy a sharp Spear。 That is the ideal Se Here it is! The match that we have all been waiting for: Karasuno vs。 Nekoma! Yeah!!! Now this match did begin in volume 33, but I couldn't talk about it directly for it was not mentioned in the volume's summary。 Now I can! I have a lot to talk about even though a lot of it is going to be said in a indirect way to help mitigate spoilers。 The Shield and The Spear"A level-headed, disciplined Shield and its best possible partner, one that makes its decisions easy a sharp Spear。 That is the ideal Serve and Block strategy" (Coach Ukai Keishin)。 An awesome quote for an awesome partnership, but as we see in a flashback page this partnership has come a long way。 It was so satisfying to see the Shield grown-up and mature so much! He has come along way。 It is sometimes hard to see why the Shield and the Spear are friends, but with the flashback scenes and this quote we see that the Shield values the Spear in a reference about winning against their opponent: "Oh, he probably is。 He's always one step ahead of me, after all。" That line shows how much the Shield respects the Spear, but I think that was not how the relationship was in the beginning。 I think this friendship dynamic began to change in the Summer Training Arc, because the Spear gave the Shield a talk about his attitude。 In reference to volleyball, it was such a thrill to see the Shield say this line: "Thanks to everyone's help。。。I mean that too。 Thanks to everyone。。。Once in a while。。。A very great while。。。it's actually kind of fun。" Eeeeeh! [Major handclapping and manic giggles] Such growth! I mean he was also thanking two people who help him during the Summer Training Arc! So proud! Tsukishima's MasterThis is so true once you make the connection! Hinata, believe it or not, was the first one to verbalize who Tsukishima's master is in terms of style。 Listen to the official commentator's description of Tsukishima's Master: "He's not usually a very Flashy Player。。。But he consistently gets deflections and always arranges his blocks to maximize their floor defense's options。" Doesn't that sound like Tsukishima? This proof was further cemented by Nohebi's captain who said he figured out why he does not like Tsukishima。 Tsukishima reminds Nohebi's captain of Tsukishima's unofficial Master。 Awesome LinesHaruichi Furudate writes great lines! They are just great and I am going to highlight some of my favorites besides the ones that I have already highlighted。 "If Nekoma's a team that'll analyze an opponent six ways from Sunday and formulate a proper counter-strategy。。。Karasuno's the wild child that gets halfway through its analysis, says screw it and just finds some way to cram the ball down your throat。 I hate playin' both of 'em。" This was said by Ogano Daiki。 It is so true! This is why I called Nekoma Team Cool and Karasuno Team Energetic。 "We toootally knew it。 We came into this game 100 percent aware and 200 percent awake。 It was clear ever since that first game。。。who Karasuno's biggest monster really is。 It's him。" Kuroo says this line about a certain someone。 I just love this line for the "100 percent aware and 200 percent awake" portion, because it's a great visual。 Speaking of monsters, Tendo, the resident Guess Monster, makes an appearance and delivers a great line as well as an observation about Karasuno。 "Well, duh! Karasuno is a team of total crazies! You should know that。 It's just their two rookies are so over the top that they overshadow everybody else。 Seriously, they're loonies of the year--easy。 But thanks to them, you don't notice that the whole dang team is actually pretty freaking nutso。" This was said right after Asahi does something interesting。 Now this is actually true when you think about it。 Is it sane to spend 2 sets teaching your teammates how someone hits a ball to use it against them (Tsukishima to Inarizaki)? Is it sane to practice your timing to get over a "wall" (Asahi vs。 Date Tech practice game)? Is it sane to sub out a player for another setter, so you can have more attackers (Suga and Kageyama)? Is it sane to practice a hard serve to learn to be useful for your team (Yamaguchi)? Is it sane to elevate your skills as a libero to become more awesome (Nishinoya)? I could go on and on, but I think I proved Tendo's point。 Yet, we all know who the kings of crazy are: Hinata and Kageyama。 "We give it our all, doing the best we've ever done。 But the very next second, THEY come along。。。and surpass us。 That's why。。。we hate those guys!" This is what Nekoma and Karasuno think about each other in what I like to think as in terms of playing。 In part, this line is great to see, because it shows how much these teams respect each other and value their rivalry。 Now as we learn in volume 33 this rivalry is more like inside secret。 Yes, everybody watching is excited about it, but they do not know what this match means for these teams or their coaches。 This rivalry all began with Coach Nekomata and Coach Ukai Ikkei。 While I can highlight more lines, I am going to call it a day。 This is so good!Verdict: I was like Akane pretty much the entire time as I watched on the awesome moments! SO GOOD!!! I am so excited to read volume 35!!! 。。。more

OOF ok that first set was intense。 Yams and Tsukki, my sweet and salty babies, absolutely killed it tho。 Asahi also killing it while Kageyama scares the crap out of everyone。 I admit, Furudate got me with (view spoiler)[Nekoma (hide spoiler)] winning the set, but you know my babies ain't going down easy。 Hinata crushing it like he always does :D OOF ok that first set was intense。 Yams and Tsukki, my sweet and salty babies, absolutely killed it tho。 Asahi also killing it while Kageyama scares the crap out of everyone。 I admit, Furudate got me with (view spoiler)[Nekoma (hide spoiler)] winning the set, but you know my babies ain't going down easy。 Hinata crushing it like he always does :D 。。。more

I STILL CAN'T GET OVER THIS MATCH。 there has been so much buildup for the battle of the trash heap and im so glad that the payoff was very satisfying!!! seeing these two teams in an official match was enough to bring me to tears, especially because they have learned from each other and have grown together so much。 bokuto and akaashi watching from the sidelines was also a great addition to this match。 i love all these boys so much!! I love that Nekoma's playstyle isn't super-flashy like Karasuno, but they are still pulling out surprises。 Actual mindgames and manipulating the ball to counter everything Karasuno throws at them and take advantage of their hyper-aggressive playstyle。 This volume starts with a big comparison between Kuroo and Tsukishima which I wasn't expecting but I loved, Tsukishima is becoming one of my favourites and that's crazy。 I love that Nekoma's playstyle isn't super-flashy like Karasuno, but they are still pulling out surprises。 Actual mindgames and manipulating the ball to counter everything Karasuno throws at them and take advantage of their hyper-aggressive playstyle。 This volume starts with a big comparison between Kuroo and Tsukishima which I wasn't expecting but I loved, Tsukishima is becoming one of my favourites and that's crazy。 。。。more

The highly anticipated battle of the cats and the crows 🤩

not only does nekoma provide a narrative foil for karasuno, but their playing style perfectly opposes the crows' offensive plays。 it's exciting to watch a game where the characters already have so much history with each other—indeed, rather than having the aggressive undercurrent of the previous game, this one is much more in the vein of friendly competition。 aside from tsukishima and yamaguchi (who have final moments of character resolution in this volume), kenma stands out as one who has devel not only does nekoma provide a narrative foil for karasuno, but their playing style perfectly opposes the crows' offensive plays。 it's exciting to watch a game where the characters already have so much history with each other—indeed, rather than having the aggressive undercurrent of the previous game, this one is much more in the vein of friendly competition。 aside from tsukishima and yamaguchi (who have final moments of character resolution in this volume), kenma stands out as one who has developed the most。 karasuno forces him to initiate action and plot a bit more cleverl。 a refreshing change to have a character not devoted to volleyball heart-and-soul still actively push forward with strategies intent on winning。 。。。more
