Though self-help books went out of vogue (for decent reason) some time ago, it is worth noting that this one offers one distinctive difference: its orientation towards action。 Though some aspects of Everything is Figureoutable flirts with some of the worst self help cliches and tropes, at its heart is a valuable message that I think everyone could use reminding of (see book's title) If your takeaway from this book is 90% eye rolling at the self-help stuff and 10% gaining a greater appreciation a Though self-help books went out of vogue (for decent reason) some time ago, it is worth noting that this one offers one distinctive difference: its orientation towards action。 Though some aspects of Everything is Figureoutable flirts with some of the worst self help cliches and tropes, at its heart is a valuable message that I think everyone could use reminding of (see book's title) If your takeaway from this book is 90% eye rolling at the self-help stuff and 10% gaining a greater appreciation and internalization of the core message of its title, than I'd say it's worth the read。 。。。more

Steph here, great kick in the booty read! @marieforleo nails it at motivating you while making you laugh because she is so dang relatable。

Let me start by saying that I’ve never marked up a book like this before, highlighter tabs galore。 Admittedly, there are parts I read religiously and others I skimmed。 How you experience this book is especially personal, for it depends on where you’re at in life。 Personally, I needed a kick in the arse and this book provided。 This may be an arse kicker, but it’s also a message of hope。 Because when everything is figureoutable and you believe that, you have more mobility and opportunity。 Marie Fo Let me start by saying that I’ve never marked up a book like this before, highlighter tabs galore。 Admittedly, there are parts I read religiously and others I skimmed。 How you experience this book is especially personal, for it depends on where you’re at in life。 Personally, I needed a kick in the arse and this book provided。 This may be an arse kicker, but it’s also a message of hope。 Because when everything is figureoutable and you believe that, you have more mobility and opportunity。 Marie Forleo provides helpful examples and solutions to all of her points, which makes this ‘philosophy’ more adoptable。 She tackles distraction, perfectionism, fixed mindset, and defeatist mentality。 If you feel stuck (especially by external circumstances) or discouraged, try it out。Big thanks to my mom, who tried to get me to read this book for months and continuously reminds me that everything is figureoutable。 。。。more

Great, inspiring stories and quotes; most of the every day examples seem common sense。 I had to laugh at the end with the “my tire was flat。 Instead of panic, I googled my tire’s PSI — problem solved in less than two minutes!” story。 C’mon。。。

The Good: 1。 The author is likeable and cute。 2。 The title repeated throughout the book is catchy and relateable。 3。 There are some nuggets in here。 4。 The personal stories are really inspiring。 5。 She proves that you don't need to be smart to do big things。The Bad: 1。 She uses other people's work and gives them little or no credit。 (Cal Newport, Laura Vanderkam, Carol Dweck to name a few。) 2。 The works she steals from are much, much better and coherent than what she wrote。 Read those, not this The Good: 1。 The author is likeable and cute。 2。 The title repeated throughout the book is catchy and relateable。 3。 There are some nuggets in here。 4。 The personal stories are really inspiring。 5。 She proves that you don't need to be smart to do big things。The Bad: 1。 She uses other people's work and gives them little or no credit。 (Cal Newport, Laura Vanderkam, Carol Dweck to name a few。) 2。 The works she steals from are much, much better and coherent than what she wrote。 Read those, not this。 3。 She doesn't acknowledge people who built her to where she is now。 This is a real "I pulled myself up by my bootstraps with only the shirt on my back and a million connections" story。 4。 Her statistics and studies were not accurately represented or nuanced。 Some of her studies were attributed to a lawyer's website, and contain really poorly derived statistics。 Another was a study that violated human rights standards and would never pass an IRB process in 2021。 5。 This book needed an editor and a focus。 You can tell someone chose her to write this。 She threw it together, retrofitting any study with a title that validated her biases without bothering to read or understand the science and math behind it, and a junior editor with the job of saying "Yes, Ms。 Forleo" was given the task to edit it。 Don't waste your time or your money on this book。 There are far better books on this topic than this one。 。。。more

I don't feel right rating this ,because I didn't finish it 。 Something just didn't feel right to me about her advice ,which made me stop listening。 That is not to say that it was a complete waste of time 。 I did find her can do attitude to be very inspiring, as well as her stories about her mother being self taught in so many ways to be so motivating 。 Instead of giving her personal views she seemed like she was trying to mish mash ideas together to pander to specific people 。 I don't feel right rating this ,because I didn't finish it 。 Something just didn't feel right to me about her advice ,which made me stop listening。 That is not to say that it was a complete waste of time 。 I did find her can do attitude to be very inspiring, as well as her stories about her mother being self taught in so many ways to be so motivating 。 Instead of giving her personal views she seemed like she was trying to mish mash ideas together to pander to specific people 。 。。。more

。。。more

Y’all don’t know how hard I tried to NOT like this book。 I went in with hella skepticism but she really did address everything, from systemic racism and oppression to mental illness, which gave her the credibility I needed to trust her advice。 I only recommend self-help books to people who are in a healthy place mentally and emotionally。 If that’s you, I highly recommend this book。

Amber

Easy read with some good tidbits and prompts。 I appreciated the positive mindset/worldview。 Completely lacking in any context for people struggling with mental health issues, addiction, or anything more complex。 Similar to Girl, Wash Your Face (which I did not care for) but more substance/actions you can take to move toward (or define) your goals。

I love how Marie takes what she writes and provides an opportunity for real life application through her journaling prompts!

Nicole

Little bits of helpful advice and wisdom here and there throughout。 I admire her journey。

Very optimistic book! Something we all need at one point or other in our lives。 In essence the author is trying to convey it is important to go through every stage in life to arrive at your destiny。 There is something to learn in everything you do, look for the lessons, don’t get caught up in the short term vision of your current situation。 Everything is figure out able! Author offers examples of her personal life and of many others that have benefited through this mantra throughout the book。 I Very optimistic book! Give each of it a try。 Lastly, ‘doing’ is the only way forward! Recommend it especially if you are at some kind of crossroads right now。 。。。more

I liked parts and pieces。 I just couldn't shake the feeling of unnecessary fluff while at the same time feel like something was off。 I liked the raw bits like inspirational stories, to be fair some quotes I actually wrote down。 But I thank this book for what it did give me, even tho it didn't quite fill my teacup。 I liked parts and pieces。 I just couldn't shake the feeling of unnecessary fluff while at the same time feel like something was off。 I liked the raw bits like inspirational stories, to be fair some quotes I actually wrote down。 But I thank this book for what it did give me, even tho it didn't quite fill my teacup。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 After discovering Marie on a Jay Shetty podcast I thought I'd look into her a bit more。 She's a boss B****! This book was really good and I've read some great books but this is up there。 She mixes the mindset, business, personal experiences, with other people's experiences。 Being open-minded and understanding what she's about I listened to the audio version of this book and it didn't disappoint。 After discovering Marie on a Jay Shetty podcast I thought I'd look into her a bit more。 She's a boss B****! Just not worth the time。 There are so many books out there that give the same kinds of advice in a more genuine way。 Not terrible, just underwhelming。 I don't know - Forleo kind of had a point when she said that in her early 20s, thinking of becoming a life coach, she wondered if anyone would take someone in the 20s with little experience seriously as a life coach。 Nah。 I wouldn't。I also can't really take someone who thinks 'everything is figureoutable", but seems to have her biggest challenge b Just not worth the time。 There are so many books out there that give the same kinds of advice in a more genuine way。 Not terrible, just underwhelming。 I don't know - Forleo kind of had a point when she said that in her early 20s, thinking of becoming a life coach, she wondered if anyone would take someone in the 20s with little experience seriously as a life coach。 Nah。 I wouldn't。I also can't really take someone who thinks 'everything is figureoutable", but seems to have her biggest challenge being catching a flight to Barcelona on time, very seriously, either。 。。。more

I would recommend/re-read this book。 It's "self help" but not too "out there" that suggestions seem fantastical。 I especially liked the chapter in Fear/Anticipation。 I would recommend/re-read this book。 It's "self help" but not too "out there" that suggestions seem fantastical。 I especially liked the chapter in Fear/Anticipation。 。。。more

Who knew that I already had this mantra that everything is figuroutable in my head without having the words formed but the sentiment firmly locked in place? I think I began following Marie Forleo in 2019 - about the time that her book Everything is Figureoutable came out。 I subscribe to her podcast and receive her e-mails。 I have had her book in my "to read" stack for a little while。 The book very much follows the format her of podcasts/MarieTV shows。 It is more of an ongoing, encouraging conversation with the reader。 She includes case studies of real people who have used the "Everything is Figureoutable" philosophy to accomplish amazing things。 The I think I began following Marie Forleo in 2019 - about the time that her book Everything is Figureoutable came out。 I subscribe to her podcast and receive her e-mails。 I have had her book in my "to read" stack for a little while。 The book very much follows the format her of podcasts/MarieTV shows。 It is more of an ongoing, encouraging conversation with the reader。 She includes case studies of real people who have used the "Everything is Figureoutable" philosophy to accomplish amazing things。 There are exercises at the end of the chapters to help to impliment this philosphy in the readers life。 These exercises also allow the the reader to do some self exploration through journaling。I found this to be an uplifting, motivational book。 If you have read other modern self help gurus, the message will be pretty similar。 I do enjoy Marie Forleo's style and personality which definitely come through (if you are offended by bad language, this will not be the book for you)。 。。。more
