Summary

Like finding a four leaf clover, breaking a fortune cookie, wishing on a shooting star, or blowing a dandelion, this collection is written from a place of hope。 Life presents a multitude of moments we hope work in our favor。 One moment has us building a fortress of daydreams and anticipation, and the next it may come crumbling down。 Yet, no matter how many times our hopes fall, we seem to be able to rebuild them again and again。 i am tired of being a dandelion explores the spectrum of hope in romance and self love, along with the hope to grow to become the best version of oneself。

Beautifully poignant and relatable collection of poetry and prose by the author。 It really struck a chord with the need of longing for acceptance, love and the understanding of one self。 The writer does an incredible job of navigation on those often painful feelings and exposing own struggles and personal experience, it was so easy to relate to especially when it comes to young love, school and the need to get back up after taking the hits and lumps from life as we grow and develop。 Extremely we Beautifully poignant and relatable collection of poetry and prose by the author。 It really struck a chord with the need of longing for acceptance, love and the understanding of one self。 The writer does an incredible job of navigation on those often painful feelings and exposing own struggles and personal experience, it was so easy to relate to especially when it comes to young love, school and the need to get back up after taking the hits and lumps from life as we grow and develop。 Extremely well written and high recommended。 。。。more

Some of the poems I really did like。 Overall the poems are really nice。 The poems are not too long - but that is going with a number of collections today so it fits if reader likes that。

Zane has one of the most honest voices in poetry that I’ve ever read。 I believed, & wanted to believe, in these poems, which is such a gift。 I can’t wait to see where he goes next!!

"I am tired of being a dandelion and trying to get you to blow me away。"First, this gorgeous collection had the audacity to destroy my very being, and then decided to tape my heart back together。 Fredrick holds your soul in each word throughout the whole time you are reading。 The collection is relatable in more ways than one。 With self doubt and lost hope, to self love and acceptance。 "I am tired of being a dandelion and trying to get you to blow me away。"First, this gorgeous collection had the audacity to destroy my very being, and then decided to tape my heart back together。 Fredrick holds your soul in each word throughout the whole time you are reading。 The collection is relatable in more ways than one。 With self doubt and lost hope, to self love and acceptance。 。。。more

Zane Frederick’s collection of poetry is so full of heartbreak and hope in equal measure。 I like how the phrasings are so relatable without trying to be overtly poetic but still stir your own emotions as poetry should。 This is my first time reading this poet’s work but it won’t be my last because the entire collection never ceases to embrace acceptance and hope that the next day will always be better than the day before。 Gorgeously optimistic and heartfelt。

Wow I was so excited to read this book since last year。 This was an early copy (ARC) but this book release date was yesterday。What can I say this is poemary fill with the nostalgic of those first loves and those first experiences related to love, and self care and growing up。 In a personal perspective I could relate to some of the poems, other give me memories of old songs and bring me back to people of my past。This book is full of very beautiful metaphors and it's beautiful。I enjoy it so much。 Wow I was so excited to read this book since last year。 This was an early copy (ARC) but this book release date was yesterday。What can I say this is poemary fill with the nostalgic of those first loves and those first experiences related to love, and self care and growing up。 In a personal perspective I could relate to some of the poems, other give me memories of old songs and bring me back to people of my past。This book is full of very beautiful metaphors and it's beautiful。I enjoy it so much。 。。。more

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me this Arc in exchange for a honest review。。。 This was a lovely collection of poetry。 I had seen some of Zane Frederick's poems on social media and I enjoyed it。 I found it easy to relate and connect with, I like the illustrations that went with the poems, they were really cute and simple。 My favourites were:- On Track- Just Getting Started - Empty-handed I really loved these ones, and I can't wait to read more of Zane's work! As a fellow enthusiast for poetry without capital letters, this collection fits my taste perfectly。 These poems are full of the metaphors I enjoy, rather than stark descriptions of reality as-is。 I think that makes the poetry easier to connect to on a personal level, as symbolism is often semi-universal in nature。 (Also, dandelions are my favorite flower, so I automatically liked the way this book wove them in。)

i am tired of being a dandelion by Zane Frederick is like a queer poetry book for those that loved Milk & Honey, but with some poetry structure and rhyming schemes。 Mainly written over one summer he spent in New York City, you can feel the journey of falling in love, being heartbroken and learning how to live with yourself and be your own best friend。 Only 100 pages and in accessible language, pretty doodles and scribbled notes。 This is one I would buy if I had the money!

Mikky (Nocturnal Predators Reviews)

I went into this poetry book with no expectations and it was an okay book。 There were some poems that hit very close to home and others that seemed like the author was in my head pulling the words right out of my mouth。 A lot of the rest were just okay for me。 Overall, it was an emotional book of poems that I would recommend。 It passed the time rather well。

This collection reminds me of myself when I used to write so many lines of my confused feelings when it comes to stories, the people around me and the things going on during my high school days。Short and easy to read。 Relatable when it comes to young love and school days。Some lines sound repetitive and too cliché。Thanks for the advance reader copy。

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for an e-arc。 The author takes us through his thoughts and feelings in the aftermath of unrequited love。 It’s definitely a journey in which by the end there is certainly hope。 This wasn’t my favourite collection of poetry as I didn’t connect much to these words。 However, poetry is so personal that it may not be applicable to others。

I was unfamiliar with Zane Frederick and his work before coming across this collection of poetry ‘I Am Tired of Being A Dandelion’; however, I found the description ‘exploring the spectrum of hope’ to be intriguing。Split into two parts: Hope Less and Hope Full – Zane’s poetry is a journey of love, loss, loneliness, longing, self-growth, self-love and recovery。I haven’t read anything quite so powerful or meaningful in a long time。 Some of the poems really spoke to me (like he’d taken the words I was unfamiliar with Zane Frederick and his work before coming across this collection of poetry ‘I Am Tired of Being A Dandelion’; however, I found the description ‘exploring the spectrum of hope’ to be intriguing。Split into two parts: Hope Less and Hope Full – Zane’s poetry is a journey of love, loss, loneliness, longing, self-growth, self-love and recovery。I haven’t read anything quite so powerful or meaningful in a long time。 Some of the poems really spoke to me (like he’d taken the words from my own heart) and I’m sure would do the same for many others, as the experiences he discusses are so universal。‘I Am Tired of Being A Dandelion’ is a beautiful little book which has rejuvenated my love of poetry。 One to return to again and again – I’ve already pre-ordered my copy!I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

it's not common that you chance upon a poetry collection so confessionary it seems like someone picked up a pen, crawled into the cavern of your psyche and pulled out its contents to commit to paper。 'a slow, sweet burn' says it best - i blazed through these with a humming heart and bated breath as i bookmarked one bar after another, delighted by the discrete and daintily-honed drawings that derive from and drive home the dimmed warmth of Frederick's words。 Frederick flips through forms with fic it's not common that you chance upon a poetry collection so confessionary it seems like someone picked up a pen, crawled into the cavern of your psyche and pulled out its contents to commit to paper。 'a slow, sweet burn' says it best - i blazed through these with a humming heart and bated breath as i bookmarked one bar after another, delighted by the discrete and daintily-honed drawings that derive from and drive home the dimmed warmth of Frederick's words。 Frederick flips through forms with fickle finesse, weighing his words exactly and earnestly to evoke sentiments with a simplicity that is soft-hearted and sure-footed and sparks a swell of sympathy in its reader - the raw recognition refracted by the emphatic section on solitude speaks to my rating, and i'll be returning to rip into it again。thank you to netgalley and central avenue publishing for kindly passing on this arc! 💫 。。。more

5,86 on CAWPILEThe publisher kindly provided me with an arc through netgalley。While I did enjoy this collection of poems there were also lots that just didn't do much for me。 I always find it hard to rate poetry because it's just so personal。 There were some beautiful ones though that I will definitely come back and think off sometimes。 5,86 on CAWPILEThe publisher kindly provided me with an arc through netgalley。While I did enjoy this collection of poems there were also lots that just didn't do much for me。 I always find it hard to rate poetry because it's just so personal。 There were some beautiful ones though that I will definitely come back and think off sometimes。 。。。more
