Ok i need to say that at first i was super bored reading this book so i took really long to finish, there were a lot of characters and i wasn’t able to remember every of them and the biggest part of the chapters are just rich people gossiping lol。 BUT theres a lottt of good chapters as well! I loved how Emma perspective of love gradually changed, the romance is super cute and you start to understand who she loves and why, the way his opinion matter a lot to her even if she doesn’t care about any Ok i need to say that at first i was super bored reading this book so i took really long to finish, there were a lot of characters and i wasn’t able to remember every of them and the biggest part of the chapters are just rich people gossiping lol。 BUT theres a lottt of good chapters as well! I really enjoyed this book but would love it more if it started getting interesting in page 100 instead of 300!! But even with all that i think everyone should give it a chance and read it!!“if i loved you less, maybe i would be able to talk more about it”- Mr Knightley💞💓 。。。more

Loved it! Every now and then I found it dragged on a bit too much, but overall it was a capitative, entertaining and worthwhile read。

I highly recommend the audio version on Audible。 It is delightful。 I’ve seen the Gwyneth movie as well as Clueless a couple of times, but this was my first time reading the book。 It was lovely and of course I now understand the characters better。

pas le meilleur imo, Emma est un peu chiante comme protagoniste, et la fin est un peu random je trouve, mais c’était cool quand même, et basique mais if i loved you less i would be able to talk about it more !!!

Great Jane Austen book! I felt like it was a bit like a Beatles song, however; the ending went on too long。 Still, a really delightful, fun read。

this book was eh— it took me a month to finish this and the longest i usually take is a week! i feel that this is too wordy and hard to read (grammarly reference) and most of the time it's constant blabbering about pure nonsense。 a lot have said that emma is an insufferable character, although, that's what i liked about her。 her arrogance and the way she spoke was unkind thought often clever。 a smart rude woman— my favourite kind。 i expected it to be about her adventurous endeavours with love bu this book was eh— it took me a month to finish this and the longest i usually take is a week! i feel that this is too wordy and hard to read (grammarly reference) and most of the time it's constant blabbering about pure nonsense。 a lot have said that emma is an insufferable character, although, that's what i liked about her。 her arrogance and the way she spoke was unkind thought often clever。 a smart rude woman— my favourite kind。 i expected it to be about her adventurous endeavours with love but it was nothing like that。 it was more of gossip and peer pressure to say the least。 the conversations were dreadfully boring and mundane。 i don't even understand the plot of this book but it wasn't that bad— just overhyped and didn't match my expectations。 。。。more

Hmm I wanted to love Emma (partially because I adore the vision with Anya Taylor Joy and Mia Goth) but I just couldn't warm up to Emma's character。 Her narration was fun at first, but her constant manipulation of everyone around her with no remorse was INFURIATING!! Emma, while not one of Jane Austen’s romances, still has one of (in my opinion) the most romantic lines ever written。 “If I loved you less I might be able to talk about it more” LOVE

Definitely the most complex Austen book I've read。 I appreciated the character progression and felt like I grew up with her throughout the book。 My favorite character is definitely Mr。 Woodhouse。 I always chuckled whenever he spoke about his favorite doctor Perry。 The only thing that raised an eyebrow was hearing Mr。 Knightly say he's loved Emma since she was 13。 🤨 Definitely the most complex Austen book I've read。 I appreciated the character progression and felt like I grew up with her throughout the book。 My favorite character is definitely Mr。 Woodhouse。 I always chuckled whenever he spoke about his favorite doctor Perry。 The only thing that raised an eyebrow was hearing Mr。 Knightly say he's loved Emma since she was 13。 🤨 。。。more

Not gonna lie, it’s hard to rate this one - I adore the overall story but it felt a little dry and was a challenging read after the color and vibrancy of the 2009 mini series which I watch on repeat。 This may be purely due to my poor narrator choice on audiobook though! I do enjoy the show more than the book in this case, which is rare for me 🤭But it definitely still deserves at least 4 stars because it is a work of art and my word, still one of the best love stories of all time - can confirm Em Not gonna lie, it’s hard to rate this one - I adore the overall story but it felt a little dry and was a challenging read after the color and vibrancy of the 2009 mini series which I watch on repeat。 This may be purely due to my poor narrator choice on audiobook though! Rereading after over a decade and I think it holds up。 Emma is apparently a polarizing character but I find her enjoyable and endearing - listen, weren’t we all annoying 21 year olds at one point?? My lasting impression from my first read was that this book is funny, and I still think it is, but also makes you cringe when Emma is particularly mean and popcorn。gif when you watch Frank Churchill scheme。I also watched Clueless while reading and thought it was a very fun adaptation!

And they lived happily ever after but it’s also kind of too much。 The complexity is there。 The main character is both insufferable and redeemable, which makes her intriguing。 Predictable for fans of ms。 Austen but nonetheless enjoyable and fun!

Emma is probably my favorite Austen character。

4。5-。 Easily Austen’s funniest novel and one of her most re-readable, it was overall a great pleasure to revisit this one。 Emma, while purposefully flawed, has never really bothered me as a lead。 I very much experience her perspective in the way I would a Blair from Gossip Girl。 I’m not going to be her best friend, but I’ll very much enjoy her blunders from afar。 Her spoiled nature makes the character growth in this novel, well, a novelty。 Oh and Mr。 Knightly。 Nothing else to say on that。 My lit 4。5-。 Easily Austen’s funniest novel and one of her most re-readable, it was overall a great pleasure to revisit this one。 Emma, while purposefully flawed, has never really bothered me as a lead。 I very much experience her perspective in the way I would a Blair from Gossip Girl。 I’m not going to be her best friend, but I’ll very much enjoy her blunders from afar。 Her spoiled nature makes the character growth in this novel, well, a novelty。 Oh and Mr。 Knightly。 Nothing else to say on that。 My literary brain would rate this at near perfect, but my modern sensibility is always a bit frustrated with some of the dynamics presented in the last few chapters。 I won’t spoil, but to say if I had read it in the 1800s, neither dynamic would be an issue。 Alas, it’s 2024 and it keeps this one closer to a 4。 。。。more

The next installment of tackling my lack of classics reading - Emma! If I had to compare them I would definitely rank Pride and Prejudice above - it felt a bit more refined in terms of world building and relationships, but both very good。 A few things definitely haven't aged well - Knightley saying he'd been in love with her since she was 13 (at age 29), and Mrs Weston's pregnancy and baby being such an insignificant event, but I guess that's just how it was in wealthy families in that era。 Some The next installment of tackling my lack of classics reading - Emma!
