Summary

When Leeds meets Layla, he’s convinced he’ll spend the rest of his life with her—until an unexpected attack leaves Layla fighting for her life。 After weeks in the hospital, Layla recovers physically, but the emotional and mental scarring has altered the woman Leeds fell in love with。 In order to put their relationship back on track, Leeds whisks Layla away to the bed-and-breakfast where they first met。 Once they arrive, Layla’s behavior takes a bizarre turn。 And that’s just one of many inexplicable occurrences。

Feeling distant from Layla, Leeds soon finds solace in Willow—another guest of the B&B with whom he forms a connection through their shared concerns。 As his curiosity for Willow grows, his decision to help her find answers puts him in direct conflict with Layla’s well-being。 Leeds soon realizes he has to make a choice because he can’t help both of them。 But if he makes the wrong choice, it could be detrimental for all of them。

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover comes a novel that explores life after tragedy and the enduring spirit of love。

I have no idea how I feel about this book。 It was not what I expected from Colleen Hoover and although I was disappointed in the story and strongly disliked one of the main characters, I simply could not put it down。 I had no idea where it was going and I honestly enjoyed the ending, but I’m not sure I appreciated the book overall。

unexpectedI didn’t read the synopsis of this book before starting, so I had no idea what I was getting in to。 It was full of surprises。 Parts were hard to get through because I couldn’t understand why things were happening。 In the end, I’m glad I stuck with it。

I would give this 4。5 stars。 I’m mind blown and didn’t expect this。 If you liked Verity you will like this。 They aren’t exactly the same but they aren’t Colleen’s typical writings。

I love how it would give bits from the present to make you question what was happening and then go to the past and tell the story

so there’s that!

Didn't love this to start but Colleen did it again, not one but two twists in this one and I loved it! Definitely a page turner! Didn't love this to start but Colleen did it again, not one but two twists in this one and I loved it! Definitely a page turner! 。。。more

I just finished this book and wow。 I'm not even sure how I feel about this book yet。 I spent most of this book hating Leeds and wishing he would leave Layla cause he was treating her terribly。 And then the twist happened and my heart literally stopped because I was not expecting that at all。 I did empathise with Leeds slightly after that but not by much。 I do not condone what Leeds did to Layla through out this book。 Even with the ending I still hated what had to happen to get to the ending。 Poo I just finished this book and wow。 I'm not even sure how I feel about this book yet。 I spent most of this book hating Leeds and wishing he would leave Layla cause he was treating her terribly。 And then the twist happened and my heart literally stopped because I was not expecting that at all。 I did empathise with Leeds slightly after that but not by much。 I do not condone what Leeds did to Layla through out this book。 Even with the ending I still hated what had to happen to get to the ending。 Poor Layla has been through so much throughout this whole book and I did really like her as a character but it would have been so cool to get more of her point of view。 I do understand why we don't thought because it's meant to feel like an unreliable narrative from Leeds retelling of the story。 The last 50 pages added an extra star to my review because I can usually guess what a twist is and I didn't with this and I am glad there was some what if a happy ending。 The epilogue fell a bit short but I am glad it was added to end to give the reader some closure。 Overall, if you're looking for a different read and love Coho, give this book ago。 But also set your expectations to a minimum because this book is very unique and has very mixed reviews。 Check TW as well。 。。。more

I actually don’t know how to describe this book。 It was a bit long-winded (that’s why i had to start it over because i didn’t love it at first) but overall it was very good。 The story was very wel written again as always by Colleen Hoover and i loved the storyline。 Overall it was great!

I am not into this type of book normally but it hooked me from the beginning

Layla had a really interesting storyline。 CoHo is a really good writer IMHO because her stories are interesting and fresh, have plot twists, and have characters that are well-developed。 I listened to the audiobook and this was not my favorite reader。

was def not expecting this to be paranormal but i was okay with it。 could pretty much figure out the plot twists before they happened, but they were good nonetheless。 i just wasn’t attached to the characters as much as i wanted to be so i didn’t really care what happened to them

This book was a great companion on long train rides and very fast paced。 I like the story line and romance, just a great book for long tiring journeys 。

Reading halfway through, i was like WTF LEEDS。 What’s wrong with you。 Are you for real?!🥴🤯

HSNDKCOKDNDNDKFKFNEKAOE WHAT IN THE WORLD。 THAT WAS INSANE。 MADNESS。 BEAUTIFUL, CREATIVE, CAPTIVATING, AMAZING MADNESS。 I’ve heard this one is along the same lines as Verity so I’m excited to see if I like Verity as much as I loved this one。 Colleen Hoover is literally just such an amazing author that girl would get an A+ in creative writing class oh my gosh she blows my mind。 11/10 would read again

Mallory McMeans

Still not sure how I feel about this one。 3。5 might be my final answer? Definitely unique。

Miranda Robertson

Very weird story line。 Took me a while to get used to it。 Loved the twist at the ending but the rest of the book was just eh for me。 Love and hate Leeds at the same time。 Same for all the character。 Willow。 Layla。 Just a very confusing book in general

Bailey Markle

Very different but kept my interest

Jamie Black

coho does is again After Verity I was excited to read another of her thrillers and it did not disappoint。 I absolutely loved this book

Anna

The only reason I’m giving this more than one star is because CH is an author that will keep you reading even if you hate the book 1/4 of the way in。

Taylor Guthrie

I truly don’t know how she does it but she did it again… this was definitely a different book but when I tell you I was hooked from the very beginning… i was not even expecting this kind of novel from her but I loved it so much。

There's so much that's gone down in this book that it's safe to say I have trust issues。 There's only so much I can write without giving away spoilers, but lets just say that its been 2hrs since I finished reading, and I still don't believe that's how the book ends。 My brain does not buy the fact that the given end is actually true。 I feel like I'm at the deep end of the web of lies and deceit with no possible way to get out of it。 THAT'S HOW GOOD THIS BOOK WAS!I do want to mention that while ev There's so much that's gone down in this book that it's safe to say I have trust issues。 There's only so much I can write without giving away spoilers, but lets just say that its been 2hrs since I finished reading, and I still don't believe that's how the book ends。 My brain does not buy the fact that the given end is actually true。 I feel like I'm at the deep end of the web of lies and deceit with no possible way to get out of it。 THAT'S HOW GOOD THIS BOOK WAS!I do want to mention that while every CoHo book I've read so far has given me a perfect fictional boyfriend, I came out of this book with no such potential new boyfriends 3 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This book was so good, I plowed straight through。 My goodness it got my blood boiling though。 Ugh, just thinking about it now I’m getting angry again。 Leeds is the worst。 He deserved no happy ending。 Like how do you move past “I lent your body to a ghost” and just go off into the sunset?! How is this not causing a HUGE trust issue for them going forward?!

Nicole Everett

I had a feeling I wouldn’t like this one as much as Colleen’s other books when I started it。 I would probably give it closer to 3。5 stars。 I did like the twists and how it ended, but I just didn’t love the characters。 Paranormal just isn’t really my thing。 Still glad I read it。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 At first I was sort of annoyed because it felt way too predictable that Sable would be the ghost。 So the truth surprised me!

This was SOOO GOOD。 I did not anticipate liking this as much as I did but I finished it in less than 48 hours。 I am so happy with how the ending turned out, although there were some crazy twists and turns along the way。
