This fourth installment in the Knights of Brethren Series has become one of my favorites！I totally fell in love with Torvald and Karina in this Medieval Romance tied to the search for the Sacred Chalice！Torvald has been summoned to Wahlburg Castle， where his father is too sick and the family estate is falling into disrepair and debts。 He needs to marry a maiden with a large dowry to save it。 He must interrupt his quest with Gunnar to search for the Sacred Chalice which is believed to have healin This fourth installment in the Knights of Brethren Series has become one of my favorites！I totally fell in love with Torvald and Karina in this Medieval Romance tied to the search for the Sacred Chalice！Torvald has been summoned to Wahlburg Castle， where his father is too sick and the family estate is falling into disrepair and debts。 He needs to marry a maiden with a large dowry to save it。 He must interrupt his quest with Gunnar to search for the Sacred Chalice which is believed to have healing powers and is needed to heal Queen Lis who suffers with a bleeding ailment from a curse passed to her by her mother。 Torvald is willing to do his duty， but he will never fall in love with his wife， and make the same mistake his father did， falling for a woman who would later abandon him， leaving him heartbroken and lovesick。Lady Karina Royse had been living in a convent， expecting to make her vows one day and become a nun。 But all of her plans are changed when her father asks her to marry one of the famous Knights of Brethren in order to improve his connections and benefit his textile business， and she dutifully complies。 What she never expects is to fall in love so quickly and deeply with Torvald。 Especially when he tells her he may never give her his heart。 His rejection hurts， but Karina， who has become accustomed to be set aside and ignored， decides to love him unconditionally， even if that implies to sacrifice her biggest treasure and set it free: Torvald himself。 Is their love destined to fail？ Will Karina’s sacrifice be worth it at the end？This was a beautiful and touching medieval love story！ It has become one of my favorites as it portrays in a very inspiring way what unconditional love truly is and what a treasure it is to find it。 Karina was a wonderful character and a great example of unconditional and selfless love; she was so innocent， but her naivety was not silly or superficial， it was humble。 She was unaware of how beautiful and kind she was， and that made her all the more appealing to Torvald。 I loved that she was chatty， completely opposed to Torvald， who was a man of few words。 She was guileless， which made her sweeter even。 Her love was truly selfless and unconditional， because she understood Torvald’s difficulty to give out his whole heart because of his father， and she didn’t push him。 She did trry to win his affection， but in a gentle way。 And the most impressive of all was her willingness to let him free in order to save his life。 It reminded me of Jesus sacrifice of giving His life so that we could live。 Karina wasn’t required to sacrifice her life， which she would have， but to sacrifice what she loved most， Torvald。 And that made her love more pure and greater。Torvald was a swoon worthy hero。 He was loyal and protective to the core。 And he was also willing to slay dragons for Karina。 He， in fact， put himself in grave risk to save her from the Jotunn。 He was courageous and brave， with a great love for his people and kingdom。 But when he fell for Karina， against all his better judgement， he did it really deep。 His love became selfless too。 And I loved the way he learns to forgive his father’s mistakes。 A beautiful story of redemption。 Karina’s kindness also helps Torvald’s father in regaining his strength and purpose。The plot had lots of adventure and danger and it was fast paced。 The mystery of the Jotunn kept me captivated。 And the quest for the search of the Sacred Chalice and its healing properties made the story so compelling！All in all， a fantastic love story， that I recommend for young adults and for old adults too！ It will warm your heart！I received a complimentary copy from the author but wasn’t required to post a positive review。 This is my honest and unbiased opinion。 。。。more

I did enjoy this book， and I think it might be Jody Hedlund's best series yet。 I quickly managed to get over my initial issues about moving the Arthurian Legends from my country （I'm British） to a fantasy Scandinavian setting。 What I enjoyed most was probably Thorvald （I want to call him Thorvald）， and his character development。 I also liked the interpretation of the Holy Grail and how it was worked into the story。 However。。。 I think I liked the last book Ensnared more。 The worldbuilding and cha I did enjoy this book， and I think it might be Jody Hedlund's best series yet。 I quickly managed to get over my initial issues about moving the Arthurian Legends from my country （I'm British） to a fantasy Scandinavian setting。 What I enjoyed most was probably Thorvald （I want to call him Thorvald）， and his character development。 I also liked the interpretation of the Holy Grail and how it was worked into the story。 However。。。 I think I liked the last book Ensnared more。 The worldbuilding and characterization seemed stronger in that one。 Karina seems oddly familar somehow， a lot like some of Mrs Hedlund's previous characters。 I was a bit annoyed by a couple of inexpicable mistakes and inconsistencies too。 Eating with forks in a Medieval setting is one of my pet peeves， since table forks weren't a thing then。 This mistake hasn't ever been present in any of this author's other works （that I can remember） so I'm not sure how it got into this one。 That's only a minor thing which didn't really detract from the story though。 I would certainly recommend this to any lover of Fairytale or Legend retellings and I will be reading the rest of the books in this series。 Disclosure of Material Connection: I recieved a copy of this title as a member of the Review Crew。 This did not influence my opinions which are entirely my own。 。。。more

This book was enriching to me as it discussed forgiveness， hanging on to old anger and feeling unwanted。 I related to this book so much as I had the same relationship with my father and mother as my Torvald and Karina had with their parents。 However， Karina and Torvald found that they enriched each other as they got to know one other。 This book gives closure to other books in the series。 It will enrich your life by reading it。 Make sure to read all the books in the series。

I loved this story of Karina and Torvald。 Their story is one of convenience。 Torvald’s father has let their estate fall into disrepair， Karina’s father wants the prestige of the noble name。 Even though Torvald has vowed to never love a woman， he is honor bound to do as his father has asked。 Karina， had aspirations of becoming a nun。 She had been at the convent for three years， when her father came to I absolutely devoured this story。 The sweet romance was enough to make me swoon then add a wonde I loved this story of Karina and Torvald。 Their story is one of convenience。 Torvald’s father has let their estate fall into disrepair， Karina’s father wants the prestige of the noble name。 Even though Torvald has vowed to never love a woman， he is honor bound to do as his father has asked。 Karina， had aspirations of becoming a nun。 She had been at the convent for three years， when her father came to I absolutely devoured this story。 The sweet romance was enough to make me swoon then add a wonderful adventure and it’s the perfect read。 This medieval story is the 4th book in the Knights of the Brethren series。 It could be read as a stand alone， but I highly recommend you read them all。 You will not be disappointed。 Two more stores to go and I can not wait。 。。。more

This is the fourth book in a series， and I've just found the entire series really well set up。 Everything flows together。 Each book is just rooting for another set of personalities and circumstances from within a comprehensive whole。 I've loved it。 Zero disappointment。And， although I've thought this about each book in the series， Enriched may be my favorite！ What would it be like for an honorable man to suddenly need to marry for money？ And what would it be like for someone who's been preparing This is the fourth book in a series， and I've just found the entire series really well set up。 Everything flows together。 Each book is just rooting for another set of personalities and circumstances from within a comprehensive whole。 I've loved it。 Zero disappointment。And， although I've thought this about each book in the series， Enriched may be my favorite！ What would it be like for an honorable man to suddenly need to marry for money？ And what would it be like for someone who's been preparing to take vows at a convent to suddenly be semi-engaged to someone who any single girl， even the novitiates laud from afar？Now， that's not to say our male protagonist is the suavest or most charming。 This guy is a heartthrob for those of us who look beneath rough exteriors。 A heartthrob he remains， especially if you have read the previous books。 I think the previous works tone down his tough guy-ness with clearer insight into his loyalty， goodness， sincerity， etc。Another great summer read。 But， let's face it。 These books are great anytime reads。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Of all the incredible heroes and heroines featured so far in this delightful series， I think Torsvald and Karina have to be the sweetest。 Karina’s kindness and fortitude， her gentleness and strength bring healing to not just the hearts of her husband and father in law but to everyone she touches。 She is whimsical and endearing and strong in heart and I loved how her unconditional love and acceptance is featured in this story。

Another amazing book by this amazing Author。 I have enjoyed all of the Knights of Brethren tales so far， and this one continues the amazing adventures！ I found myself unable to put this down， even sneaking a few pages while at work or when I should have been sleeping。 Lady Karina and Torvald’s story was spellbinding， and I can’t wait for the final two installations of this series！！
