Summary

Meeting pop sensation Jude Santiago might be the best thing for my singing career。 And the worst thing for my heart。

Singing is my life, but no agency will sign me because of my size。 They want me to lose weight。 Dress differently。 Be someone other than my size twenty self。

They want me to be like Jude Santiago with his perfectly fitted jeans and tight t-shirts and completely sell out。 There’s no way I’m going down that path, and I tell him so, publicly, on my Youtube channel。

But when it gets back to him, he has an agreement: go on tour with him and see for myself that he’s authentic。 If I can’t, he won’t make another album。

This will be the sweetest bet I’ve ever won。。。 Or the biggest, most public heartbreak of the century。

He was absolutely a superhero in Des and Jude's story! I have voluntarily left this review。 。。。more

Another great read in this series about girls who aren't Skinny Minnies。 A refreshing change!!We already know Des has a great singing voice。 Now it's her turn to have her dreams come true! The possibility to go on tour with a teen popstar。 Enter Jude。Once again hardhitting themes- this time fat shaming and slut shaming。 Very thought provoking。Love it!Can't wait for the next installment。 Another great read in this series about girls who aren't Skinny Minnies。 A refreshing change!!We already know Des has a great singing voice。 Now it's her turn to have her dreams come true! I love a good story with a rockstar! Especially one filled with body positivity and a dramaaaaaaaa。Here's a little list of some things I really liked about this book (some of which I will expound upon below):- Des' confidence- concert vibes!!- both main characters were working through things and bettering themselves- Mama Santiago- JadeDes is an amazing character! She is confident, strong, and an incredible activist。 The whole book I was cheering her on while simultaneously trying to figure out I love a good story with a rockstar! She is confident, strong, and an incredible activist。 The whole book I was cheering her on while simultaneously trying to figure out how to channel my inner Des to conquer the world。 I'll forever be sad that she's not a real person and I will never be able to hear her sing!I'm sad to report there was a big missed opportunity in this book。 There was almost no tension in the relationship between Des and Jude。 They were already half in love when the book started and then (view spoiler)[started dating so quickly that what little tension there was, was all kinda lost。 (hide spoiler)] There was never any question as to whether one of them liked the other one romantically and I think that's a crying shame。 I need the tension!Jude was sweet, but almost overly so。 He constantly gave Des compliments and whispered sweet nothings and honestly, I needed more。 Also, (view spoiler)[Jude was so upset when Des didn't tell him about Natalie's threat and it was weird。 Almost like he cared more about his career than her。 Then again, it would have been weird if he would have been like 'oh it's cool that you nearly trashed my career because I want to be with you forever after knowing you for a month。' Something was just off with the whole issue。 I also didn't love how Des told all these people except him, despite having an NDA。 Then when he asked why she didn't say anything to him but did to everyone else, she said trust。。。I don't know。 Somehting was off。 (hide spoiler)]Overall, this was a delightful book that, while missing some things, was a great release by Stelting。Disclaimer: I voluntarily read and reviewed a gifted and advanced copy of this book。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。 。。。more

3。5 StarsThere were some parts of this book that I absolutely ADORED。 The scene from the first night of the tour was one of the best scenes of Kelsie’s that I’ve ever read (and I’ve read all but 5 of her books)。 I got chills and I felt like I was there。 It was incredible storytelling。 Other parts of the story required me to suspend too much disbelief to really connect with the story like I would have liked to。 (view spoiler)[ Jude practically pining after her for a year from afar? Seemed much too unrealistic to me, and that point played out a lot especially through the end。 (hide spoiler)]Des’ growth at the end of the book was AWESOME。 She confronted her mistakes, owned them, and took on the uncomfortable task of making things right。 Considering the air about her from the other CG2。0 books, I expected her confidence to bleed into cocky arrogance, but I was pleasantly surprised by her humility。 Her growth arc has been one of the best that I’ve seen in the CGC and I loved it!The theme of sex positivity was prominent throughout this book。 I guess I should note that I’m not keen on this particular movement, which could also play into why I didn’t connect with this installation of the Curvy Girl Club as much as others。 While I’m totally here for calling out the misogyny of dual standards for men and women when it comes to sex, I’m not here for the promotion of “casual sex。” This played into my overall feelings from this book, so if that’s your thing, you probably will enjoy this read even more!Thankful for Keslie for providing me with ARC。 All thoughts and opinions are my own and no positive review was expected。 。。。more

“Sometimes we need to do things that scare us to reach our dreams”The Curvy Girls Club 1。0 + 2。0 are some of the most encouraging, body-postive, real life struggles, amazing books I’ve read。 Each girl deal with their own insecurities & real life situations。 They are all clean reads, ie: no hanky panky talk, no foul language, no talk of drugs, etc。 but they do always end up in a happily ever after, you just don’t know how til the end。 There’s kissing & you get all the feels without the details。 I “Sometimes we need to do things that scare us to reach our dreams”The Curvy Girls Club 1。0 + 2。0 are some of the most encouraging, body-postive, real life struggles, amazing books I’ve read。 Each girl deal with their own insecurities & real life situations。 They are all clean reads, ie: no hanky panky talk, no foul language, no talk of drugs, etc。 but they do always end up in a happily ever after, you just don’t know how til the end。 There’s kissing & you get all the feels without the details。 I always look forward to each book in this series。 They are so inspirational & I always feel so much more confident + ready to take on the world when reading them。 Des is literally a rockstar!I currently read Curvy Girls Dont Date Rockstars, which will be released February 17th (so go preorder it & read all the Curvy Girl’s books on KU ;) It’s all about rockstar Jude & an up + coming Desiree。 If you’ve read any of the Curvy Girls 2。0 you know Des is kinda the leader of the pack, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have her own insecurities。 She’s the singer of the group the one every one KNOWS she’ll make it big one day。 She’s spunky, not afraid to speak her mind, & has an incredibly big heart。 Jude is a rockstar but there’s one thing he’s missing + will find it on his tour。 Also, you’ve never met more evil people than Natalie + Winnie, trust me you’ll see why。 I can’t recommend this series enough! 。。。more

I was VERY blessed to receive an ARC copy of this book and I LOVED IT!! I love how each book in this series is a completely different personality of young lady, but still have the bond and strength of their Curvy Girl Club to have their back。 I truly wish I had this when I was younger and am truly moved by these books。 Don’t want to give to much away, but to read about Des finally getting a real stage was WONDERFUL。 Couldn’t put this book down and can’t wait for the next in the series。

✨ The Title/Cover Draw:I have read all of Kelsie’s previous books in the series and am so excited to be reading and reviewing #10! Every curvy girl book from kelsie gets better and better。 I have fallen in love with all the characters in both curvy girl clubs。 It’s so rare to find a story let alone a whole series on plus size women。 I love how all the girls who come from different backgrounds come together and how they overcome all that the world puts against them。 See myself fully in each girl is something I’ve never experienced before when reading。 Showing that plus size women deserve love just as much as the world’s stan Every curvy girl book from kelsie gets better and better。 I have fallen in love with all the characters in both curvy girl clubs。 It’s so rare to find a story let alone a whole series on plus size women。 I love how all the girls who come from different backgrounds come together and how they overcome all that the world puts against them。 See myself fully in each girl is something I’ve never experienced before when reading。 Showing that plus size women deserve love just as much as the world’s standard of normal size women。 I love love love des’s story❤️ #paitientlywaitingformyman😂 。。。more

An emotional story about love, friendship, family, and to be true to yourself。 It seems impossible that rock star Jude Santiago can be attracted to overweight Desirae。 But she is going to be his opening singer in his Summer tour。 But Everything is against them, even their own insecurities and fears。 Kelsie Stelting at her best。
