I'll give a quick, non-spoilery review, because Amazon inadvertently shipped my copy more quickly than anticipated and so I received my copy on the 8th, instead of Release Day, which was the 11th。 Then I read it from cover to cover; I couldn't put it down! That said, this book was a phenomenal closer to the Lee Harden series! The explosive action is still very much in full force, and the reader's ears are left ringing from all the gunfighting, and grenades going off!! That said, this book was a phenomenal closer to the Lee Harden series! The explosive action is still very much in full force, and the reader's ears are left ringing from all the gunfighting, and grenades going off!! Also, all the lead characters have a chance to shine, and a lot of plot-lines are wrapped up! These characters get a fitting send-off, and I feel like overall, the book was an excellent balance between exposition and action (something DJ Molles is known for)。 I have to say that I was not disappointed by this book in the slightest, because it gave me everything I was looking for, and I DO think I'll enjoy it even more on a second readthrough, starting at the Book 1, so that everything is fresh in my mind again。 Highly, HIGHLY recommended。 And pick up the Remaining Sextet if you haven't already, and for the love'a mike, read those first! The Criticism (if it could be called that)[VERY MINOR SPOILER]:I will say that we aren't given a 100% satisfactory conclusion of all that new strangeness that came about with the Primals。 We don't ever really find out who the Strange Ones are, or why they can talk, or find out much more about the Omegas and the Alpha。 Also, this book DOES end on a "And the adventure continues" sort of thing, which if I'm being honest, feels very much like Mr。 Molles has left a door unlocked, juuuuuuuust in case he wants to come back to this Universe again。 I'm grateful for it, because there were a few moments in the last quarter of the book where I was sure "This is it, this is the end of everything!" only for some great plot-twist and dialogue to happen instead。 Ultimately, even if we don't get any more books in this universe, these 12 books are some of my favorite books, and I've read and reread them many times。 Other books in this genre tend to fall flat, and I can't always put my finger on it, other than to say that I expected them to be as good as the Remaining/Harden books, and they just never are。 Man, end of an era here。 。。。more
