Audiobook fans know what I'm talking about when I say I absolutely had to hear Joel Froomkin perform Winnie-the -Pooh! I can't believe I read this book in one day!!! 。 A。 A。 Milne has written a classic I will treasure immensely for the rest of my life。 I related to every character and story in this book and everyone had a flaw and some quality that redeemed them in the end。 Piglet was my favorite I feel he is smarter than everyone gives him credit for and he tries his hardest to be as brave as can be, battling anxiety every single day。 He reminded me so much of my sister and sorta brought her back to me between I can't believe I read this book in one day!!! 。 A。 A。 Milne has written a classic I will treasure immensely for the rest of my life。 I related to every character and story in this book and everyone had a flaw and some quality that redeemed them in the end。 Piglet was my favorite I feel he is smarter than everyone gives him credit for and he tries his hardest to be as brave as can be, battling anxiety every single day。 He reminded me so much of my sister and sorta brought her back to me between the pages。 Eeyore and Pooh were completely like my grammie that I saw her alive again through their words and admirable quotes。 Other characters I loved were kanga & little roo for they were like me and my mum's relationship。 Beautiful rhymes, poetry, and storytelling。 Everything was crafted from pure love that I could tell, which makes this the cutest thing I have ever read。 The levels of wholesomeness were as sweet as a pastry。 Five out of five。 。。。more

Kate

Such a comfort classic with nuggets of wisdom for readers of any age。

To say I was obsessed with Winnie the Pooh when I was younger would be an understatement。My only regret is that I didn't realize my favorite cartoon of all time was based on a book。So instead of "The Thirsty Crow," the first book I would have read as a child would have been Winnie the Pooh。 To say I was obsessed with Winnie the Pooh when I was younger would be an understatement。My only regret is that I didn't realize my favorite cartoon of all time was based on a book。So instead of "The Thirsty Crow," the first book I would have read as a child would have been Winnie the Pooh。 。。。more

Easy to see why Disney found this property so irresistible- pretty shocked that Pooh ends up murdering Piglet。 (Just kidding…)

Roger

A classic children’s story that everyone should read about friendship and helping others。

There are few classics that I feel age so wonderfully as Winnie-the-Pooh。 The characters and their illustrations never lose their magic and the adventures are witty and heartwarming。 It is always a delight to visit with Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Rabbit, Owl, and Christopher Robin。

Of course this is charming--but I was surprised that this was genuinely funny in a dry British wit way。 Free on audible, worth a listen

I loved the way the characters were introduced and their uniqueness。 You can never tell with bees though。

This book gave me immediate flashbacks to my childhood! The original Winnie-the-Pooh (ad characters) is so much better than the disneyfied version (although I still like the Disney version)。 The characters are more than little stereotypes and A。 A。 Milne's writing style is so funny。 Since this was the audio version, I do want to say that the narrator, Joel Froomkin, did a stellar job! Some of my earliest memories of being read to as a child are that of my mother reading this book to me。 I still hear her voice when I read it all these years later。 Winnie the Pooh and his companions are so sweet and funny and artless - we can relate to each of them in turn。 Who hasn’t sometimes felt like a Bear with Very Little Brain? Or how about Piglet who tries so hard to be brave, but isn’t? Or how about Piglet who tries so hard to be brave, but isn’t? And then there’s Eeyore, the original lovable curmudgeon。 When Pooh feels that inner reluctance to share his honey, we all understand。 When Piglet borrows his courage from those around him, we get it。 When Eeyore complains dolefully about being ignored and overlooked, he is saying out loud what none of us dare to。 Christopher Robin, Owl, Rabbit (and all his relations), Kanga and Roo fill out the cast nicely。 Each story stands on its own and is delightful, but I think my favorite will always be the one in which Pooh and Piglet encounter the Horrible Heffalump。 In a bit of sweet irony, I am now reading these stories to my 95-year-old mother, who has lost a lot of her mental capacity, but still chuckles occasionally in recognition as she listens。 。。。more

After an academic recommended this book, I was sceptical that it could be interesting or fun for an adult。It was absolutely lovely, and really touching。

There are those classic tales that you come across, that take you back to childhood, and all the magic that comes with it。 I remember the tales of Winnie-The-Pooh as a child, and it always held a special place in my heart。 This audiobook dramatically brought those feelings back, and I can imagine that children for years and years to come, will find this audiobook simply a brilliant delight, and will want to listen to the adventures of Christopher Robin and his caring friends over and over again。 There are those classic tales that you come across, that take you back to childhood, and all the magic that comes with it。 I remember the tales of Winnie-The-Pooh as a child, and it always held a special place in my heart。 This audiobook dramatically brought those feelings back, and I can imagine that children for years and years to come, will find this audiobook simply a brilliant delight, and will want to listen to the adventures of Christopher Robin and his caring friends over and over again。 The narrator is superb, capturing all the funny aspects of the fun adventures these young friends have。 Highly recommended。 。。。more
