Good ending to a captivating series！ Reagen and team are back to duke it out with the elves and demons…wait， but there is a twist。 Love that Reagen has emotionally matured and making leadership decisions that she would not have chosen early on in the series。 Nicole Poole always does a great job narrating with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene！

What an amazaballs ending to this seriesI absolutely love Regan and the whole gang。 Sad to see the end of this world that has been one of my favorites。 However， the ending for these characters was phenomenal。 The growth of all the characters， the made family， the emotions， yes I cried。 But so worth it！！！ Seriously you will not be disappointed。

Battle with Fire was a wonderful conclusion to an amazing series。 Mostly told from Reagan's point of view， it had flashes of insight from Charity and a bit more from Penny， and it was nice to hear from all of the main heroines of this series。 There were a few questions left about Charity and Penny that I wish had been a bit more resolved， but generally my questions were answered and characters were resolved in their stories。 I think my favorite thing about this series has been the development of Battle with Fire was a wonderful conclusion to an amazing series。 Mostly told from Reagan's point of view， it had flashes of insight from Charity and a bit more from Penny， and it was nice to hear from all of the main heroines of this series。 There were a few questions left about Charity and Penny that I wish had been a bit more resolved， but generally my questions were answered and characters were resolved in their stories。 I think my favorite thing about this series has been the development of characters--both knowing them and seeing them mature as individuals。Loose ends were tied up， bad guys got their comeuppance， and endings were satisfying （though with plenty of room for imagination about the future）。 I'll miss this series but felt very satisfied by its end。 Highly recommend！ 。。。more

Have you ever finished a series， and immediately wanted to start from book 1 again？ Maybe read it more slowly， just so you can savor it for a little bit longer？ No？ Then you will with this series。 This final book in the DDVN world was…。 Everything！ Reagan has truly grown from when we first met her in Born in Fire。 She has developed lasting friendships and connections。 She has （oddly） even met and liked her father （Hello Lucifer！）。 Penny has come into her own as well。 She was unsure of herself in Have you ever finished a series， and immediately wanted to start from book 1 again？ Maybe read it more slowly， just so you can savor it for a little bit longer？ No？ Then you will with this series。 This final book in the DDVN world was…。 Everything！ Reagan has truly grown from when we first met her in Born in Fire。 She has developed lasting friendships and connections。 She has （oddly） even met and liked her father （Hello Lucifer！）。 Penny has come into her own as well。 She was unsure of herself in the beginning and has been through the trenches since then。 Yet she carries on and has emerged confident and strong。 Darius and Emery have been the perfect mates for Reagan and Penny， supporting them and having their backs without taking over。 We see smaller story arcs come to a close and questions answered that we have been pondering for a while now （merpeople obviously lol）。 More than that， we see a flawless grand finale to the overarching story arc that begin in book 1。 Breene has written many good books with great stories but she topped herself in Battle with Fire！ I was impressed with the depth of emotion and personality for each character in this series and the amount of emotions pulled from me in this book was astronomical。 This is simply a story you do NOT want to miss。 I plan to revisit this series over and over again and hope for spin-offs so I don’t have to contemplate never peeking into their lives again。 So instead of goodbye and the end to this world and my book friends， I will say “I will see you again”。 Probably soon haha。 。。。more

All the feels！This was perfect！ The battle we were promised finally came to pass。 There were surprises along the way， which usually happens。 Lots of alliances were made with underhanded players trying to break them。 Answers to new and old questions answered。 This was the perfect ending to an enjoyable series。 Hopefully K F Breene will someday give us some new stories from this world， but until then we can always revisit Reagan and company in DDVN！
