Okay so I’m giving this 3。75 stars。 It was a good book and it was well-written。 The plot was very interesting。 I enjoyed the whole “last time none of it was real， this time it’s all real” aspect of Caraval this time around。 However， I felt down fo the magic of Caraval itself was lost。 And because of that， some of the magic of Legend was also lost。 *spoilers incoming* I feel like Donatella didn’t need to fall in love with Dante。 It’s just Scarlette and Julian repeated all over again。 NOW I assume Okay so I’m giving this 3。75 stars。 It was a good book and it was well-written。 The plot was very interesting。 I enjoyed the whole “last time none of it was real， this time it’s all real” aspect of Caraval this time around。 However， I felt down fo the magic of Caraval itself was lost。 And because of that， some of the magic of Legend was also lost。 *spoilers incoming* I feel like Donatella didn’t need to fall in love with Dante。 It’s just Scarlette and Julian repeated all over again。 NOW I assume the next book is going to be about Legend and her love story… but I fear a love triangle is imminent with Jacks and that is going to lose me。 I already know I’m going to hate the next book 😢 I already love Jacks though。 But Legend has been more developed。 Ugh。 Also I know OUABH is about Jacks sooo I know the end of the love triangle haha it is still going to lose me though。 I hope Finale can fix some of the magic for me 🧡 。。。more

at first i didn’t really know what to think of this book， especially not after the ending of the last one。 but i was pleasantly surprised while getting into it。 it’s beautifully written and highly entertaining。 honestly it’s just like caraval， but even better。 don’t hesitate to read this book。 i don’t have any other words left to describe it， because this story left me speechless。 seriously， go and read it。

It definitely took me a little longer than I expected to fully get into this novel and be invested in the story。 I was probably just past the 50% point when I really felt the need to devour it… and then I couldn’t keep my hands off， I was so intrigued with how the main character Tella （short for Donatella） would navigate and solve her current problems！Legendary is the second book in the Caraval trilogy and is told in the perspective of Donatella Dragna。 Like the first story， it is set during Car It definitely took me a little longer than I expected to fully get into this novel and be invested in the story。 I was probably just past the 50% point when I really felt the need to devour it… and then I couldn’t keep my hands off， I was so intrigued with how the main character Tella （short for Donatella） would navigate and solve her current problems！Legendary is the second book in the Caraval trilogy and is told in the perspective of Donatella Dragna。 Like the first story， it is set during Caraval， a magical game/competition。 What’s different this time around is that Caraval is not usually played so soon， usually with multiple years in between each game。 Playing Caraval requires bravery， cunning， sacrifice and grit… and this time is no different。 They say you can go crazy believing the game is real… but how to tell reality from illusion？This series thus far is truly unique to anything I’ve read prior and definitely messes with your sense of wrong and right in terms of understanding the plot progression。 As with the first novel， anything I thought I knew was turned on its head with the next plot twist。 I had a gut feeling who I thought Legend was…and I was right， but only had my gut feeling confirmed much later in the story， leaving me with the feeling of surprise as the reveal was really well done in my opinion。 I liked Tella as the main character。 She’s smart， tenacious， and relatable。 Her character has progressed a lot throughout the first and now the second novel， and the more I get to know her the more I like her。 Her journey through the second novel lets her peer within herself and determine her true values and beliefs。I am very excited to see what the third and final installment of Caraval has to offer！ 。。。more

book 1？？？ literally？？ what was the reason omg i know they revealed some character depth at the end of the book but it still put me off reading this for so long？？。 i blame scarlett for being all "oh tellas so reckless and stupid and now i need to save her AGAIN urghh"。 i didn't mind scarletts pov in caraval but one particular scene in this book made me question if i still like her。 （view spoiler）[ wtf。。 why would you do julian like that scarlett？？ arent you like literally in love with him。。 WHAT DO YOU MEAN you want to see if the count is better？？ none of us have a julian please be grateful （hide spoiler）]on a related note i loved the glimpses we got of julian and scarlett together in this book。 definitely some issues but that just made it more realistic。 and yes i am definitely still emotionally attached to them。 considering romance wasn't the main plot for the book， i loved it。 "yet， as the pair stood there with their arms wrapped around each other， and their heads leaning closer together， they looked like two halves of the same heart" can you see me blushing through the screen？？？ and of course the drama between the two didn't stop， we love a love story which doesn't go boring and bland once they get together。 and julian is still as devious as ever， love that。 （view spoiler）[ although it makes me wonder if julian lied to her because he knew scarlett would want to see the count and makes me wonder if julian doesn't trust her as much as we believe he does。。 also scarlett has absolutely no right to be angry that they kept it from her because she did exactly what they predicted she would do。 i'm interested in how this is going to play out （hide spoiler）]Tella:i absolutely ADORED tella in this book。 her character was such a fresh breath of air after all the horrendous cliched characters i go through on a daily basis。 all of stephanie garbers characters are so complex and they all have their vices。 no character is strictly good or bad。 somehow she has a talent for making us like the vices。 i admit i had prejudice against this book for a while as i assumed tella would be your typical quirky-reckless heroine who isnt able to do anything by herself。 i was proven so wrong。 tella has a lot of character depth and i feel bad for underestimating her。"Tella might have been many things， but she was far from silly or worthless or whatever labels people liked to affix because a person was young and female。" she still is the person she was in caraval of course， reckless and hasty in decisions， but i like that about her， she's always so interesting and honest with herself。 she's too relatable in a lot of ways。 i don't know how to describe her any better but maybe a bit of recklessness is what i need。 tella， doesn't need to be rescued， she's brave， strong and so intelligent。Dante:its probably a spoiler but if you read the book your going to find out soon anyway but dante is tellas love interest。 uhh。。 i like him but i can't actually remember any cute scenes in the book？？ but there was one really great hurt-comfort scene。 ugh my favourite。 should come to no surprise to you but i didn't like dante in the first book because i'm extremely judgemental as always。 but hot damn i was so so partial to him most of the book，， like。。。 moody and broody and dark。 sign me the fuck up。 oh and also i wrote somewhere he was a complex character but i cba to find out where so whatever。 :）Legend: sorry i kind of wish he wasn't who he was。 it ruins EVERYTHING。 and part of me just doesn't want to believe it。 i kind of pieced it together in chapter 24 with that。 and i think tella is a minor as well？？ i dont care if he never ages or whatever its still weird。 giving Twilight （hide spoiler）]Jacks:ok sorry i kind of lost interest in this review but i will say he definitely is one of my favourite characters。 what is this man hiding。 the villians are always more interesting afterall。 am i rooting for the villian ？？ yes。 sorry dante。 one particular thing he said definitely reminded me of another one of my favourite blonde psychopaths。 am i seeing a pattern ？？“Other people might underestimate you， Donatella， but I don’t。”is it normal to like jacks ？？ i guess i'll have to wait till i read finale which is irritating because i can't。 exams are stupid。Plot:obviously better than caravals。 i didn't really enjoy caravals。 one issue i have with this book is after the big reveal happened the plot moved kind of slow for a while。 also this book just didn't feel as magical as caraval did :（ taking half a star off for that。 but amazing book。 。。。more
