Grumpy bear5/3/21 Julia read to me

Sarah

Cute but doesn’t rhyme and will drive you insane over time or rereading。 That being said my toddler LOVES it。

This Bruce book is a cute, quick read that would encourage children to play along with the geese as they “peek” Bruce。

Chris Hays

Short easy and will last for about a week with Luka。

I genuinely don't understand the appeal of this book。 Someone says they want to be left alone, so you spend the day bothering them nonstop? This is。。。 not a great message about respecting personal boundaries。 I genuinely don't understand the appeal of this book。 Someone says they want to be left alone, so you spend the day bothering them nonstop? Rowan was a little slow to dig this one。 But after a few reads, he warmed to it and now has a very good time finding Bruce。

Not as fun as some of the other Mother Bruce books, but if you like the series, you'll probably enjoy it! Not as fun as some of the other Mother Bruce books, but if you like the series, you'll probably enjoy it! 。。。more

A very sub-texty book about a weary bear trying (and failing) to get a break from the four perky ducklings。 I hope the parents reading this aren't sobbing through their smiles。 And it would be fun to read with a mixed age group where some kids get the subtext of the bear's desperation and some are along with the ducklings。 A very sub-texty book about a weary bear trying (and failing) to get a break from the four perky ducklings。 I hope the parents reading this aren't sobbing through their smiles。 And it would be fun to read with a mixed age group where some kids get the subtext of the bear's desperation and some are along with the ducklings。 。。。more

Leopold (9 months old) finds this book hilarious。 It’s also a good length for his attention span。

I love this series! This is a fun riff on peek-a-boo books。 Poor Bruce just wants some peace and quiet, but the goslings insist on turning it into a hide-and-seek game。 Many parents can sympathize, I am sure。

Elizabeth

This is pretty much exactly how I imagine parenthood。

Adorable! Poor Bruce just wants some alone time, but the goslings want to play with him! Would be great in a tiny tot or toddler storytime。

For: Bruce fans; readers looking for an interactive book。Possible red flags: lack of boundaries/ignoring social cues。

emyrose8

A cute hide and seek board book featuring our favorite grumpy bear and his ducklings。

Jesse

A fun game of peekaboo (or is it) involving the reader in the fun!

Michelle Halber

This is a good choral book for baby storytime。 Bruce tries (unsuccessfully) to hide from his friends。

Peek-a-Bruce-- 2019In this board book, Bruce the black bear takes care of four goslings, but he is tired and wants some alone time。 The goslings want to have fun with Bruce so readers go with the goslings to discover where Bruce is hiding。 Bruce hides and readers try to correctly spot him and the next page reveals where he was。 The hide-and-seek theme of the book provides opportunities to ask children engaging questions and improve observational skills。 Eventually, Bruce gives up hiding, and Bru Peek-a-Bruce-- 2019In this board book, Bruce the black bear takes care of four goslings, but he is tired and wants some alone time。 The goslings want to have fun with Bruce so readers go with the goslings to discover where Bruce is hiding。 Bruce hides and readers try to correctly spot him and the next page reveals where he was。 The hide-and-seek theme of the book provides opportunities to ask children engaging questions and improve observational skills。 Eventually, Bruce gives up hiding, and Bruce and the goslings take a nap after their fun day of informal hide-and-seek。 The colors are natural but whimsical。 Also, the animals are sophisticatedly drawn but still cartoonish lending to the whimsical aesthetic。 。。。more

A cute quick read that is a nice transition for a little one who knows peekaboo but hasn’t quite grasped the love of books yet。

Board Book2019This book just seems like it would be fun to read aloud。 We are introduced to Bruce - a character that grows with the child into picture books and into the early readers stage。 In it, we find 4 little goslings that want to play with Bruce。 But Bruce does not want to play。 He wants to walk by himself - but the goslings fall in line behind him。 He tries to hide from them, but he is too big and sticks out from most of his hiding spots。 At each hiding attempt it's easy to imagine how t Board Book2019This book just seems like it would be fun to read aloud。 We are introduced to Bruce - a character that grows with the child into picture books and into the early readers stage。 In it, we find 4 little goslings that want to play with Bruce。 But Bruce does not want to play。 He wants to walk by himself - but the goslings fall in line behind him。 He tries to hide from them, but he is too big and sticks out from most of his hiding spots。 At each hiding attempt it's easy to imagine how the book would sound read aloud。 With each word drawn out just a little bit, acting as though you're searching for Bruce。 The little geese find Bruce at every turn, he can't hide from them。 In the end, Bruce and the ducklings are worn out for different reasons and all fall asleep together。 。。。more
