This entire book was predictable。 Predictable ending。 Predictable villain。 Predictable resolution of the villains reasons。

Shortly after an explosion rocks a presidential rally, Dustin is taken into custody。 He knows he didn't do it and can't figure out who would want to frame him。 He's also dealing with his partner's wife's health crisis。 I appreciated that this book looked at the complexities of being a survivor in a horrific event and of watching a loved one get sick or die。 It did a good job of showing how hard it could be, of the misplaced guilt and shame and of some of the ways someone might deal with that。 It Shortly after an explosion rocks a presidential rally, Dustin is taken into custody。 He knows he didn't do it and can't figure out who would want to frame him。 He's also dealing with his partner's wife's health crisis。 I appreciated that this book looked at the complexities of being a survivor in a horrific event and of watching a loved one get sick or die。 It did a good job of showing how hard it could be, of the misplaced guilt and shame and of some of the ways someone might deal with that。 It was a poignant, heart-breaking book。 Some things were a bit predictable but I enjoyed it。 Thank you to Thomas Nelson for providing me with a free e-copy of this book。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

This is my first Terri Blackstock book but it definitely won't be my last! It was absolutely fantastic! I wouldn't even classify it as too much of a romance but it was certainly a thriller! Another great book by Terri Blackstock! Set in Atlanta, a bombing occurs at a political event。 Police act on an anonymous tip and discover bomb materials in Dustin’s trunk。 Dustin calls childhood friend, Jaime, who’s an attorney。 Lots of things going on in this story。 I couldn’t put it down! Highly recommended

Aftermath by Terri Blackstock is not reader’s typical romantic suspense novel。 There really is not a suspenseful element that drives the story along and has the reader grasping for justice。 Right away, there is an element of tension that affects the outcome of the characters。 The hero is thrown for a loop and trying to stay out of jail with the help of the heroine。 While there is a hunt to figure out who created the bomb and wanted it to destroy the politician, the story really centers around th Aftermath by Terri Blackstock is not reader’s typical romantic suspense novel。 There really is not a suspenseful element that drives the story along and has the reader grasping for justice。 Right away, there is an element of tension that affects the outcome of the characters。 The hero is thrown for a loop and trying to stay out of jail with the help of the heroine。 While there is a hunt to figure out who created the bomb and wanted it to destroy the politician, the story really centers around the characters emotions and feelings as they try to solve who set up the hero。 As I was reading the story, the plot reminded me a lot of Life After by Katie Ganshert。 Not a real suspense novel。 Just a contemporary novel with a little bit of the uneasiness of knowing who did the damage。 The person who actually set the bomb in motion had a clear motive that I could have gotten behind, but I still do not agree with how he did it。 Overall, if readers enjoyed this story, then I suggest picking up Ganshert’s novel too。 It is along the same storyline。I received a complimentary copy of Aftermath by Terri Blackstock by Thomas Nelson Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own。 。。。more

Terri Blackstock has achieved the perfect blend of suspense, romance, faith, and mystery in Aftermath。 She mixed all of those elements in with terrorism, revenge, mental illness, betrayal, forgiveness, and reconciliation in a book that kept me up late into the night, or more accurately, early into the morning。。 The plot has twist and turns and flows smoothly; the dialogue is natural; and the pacing is perfection。 I highly recommend this book and this author。 I definitely plan on reading more of Terri Blackstock has achieved the perfect blend of suspense, romance, faith, and mystery in Aftermath。 She mixed all of those elements in with terrorism, revenge, mental illness, betrayal, forgiveness, and reconciliation in a book that kept me up late into the night, or more accurately, early into the morning。。 The plot has twist and turns and flows smoothly; the dialogue is natural; and the pacing is perfection。 I highly recommend this book and this author。 I definitely plan on reading more of Terri Blackstock's work。I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and have given my opinion of this well-written book。 。。。more

I didn’t see that coming!”Ms。 Blackwell never disappoints!! She is one of my favorite authors and I look forward to her next story。Want to thank NetGalley and Thomas Nelson-Fiction for this eGalley in early form。 I received this complimentary eGalley before publication in an early form for an honest professional review。\Publishing Release Date scheduled for May 11, 2021 。。。more

Jamie Powell, a criminal defense attorney, is called by a childhood friend, Dustin who has been arrested for stolen bomb parts in his car on the same day that a bomb went off in a political rally in a large venue in town。 The bomb was made with other components that were stolen at the same time。 Dustin and his partner have a successful security business and the components were stolen from a business they had set up security for。 He is obviously being framed, and Jamie is determined to help him t Jamie Powell, a criminal defense attorney, is called by a childhood friend, Dustin who has been arrested for stolen bomb parts in his car on the same day that a bomb went off in a political rally in a large venue in town。 The bomb was made with other components that were stolen at the same time。 Dustin and his partner have a successful security business and the components were stolen from a business they had set up security for。 He is obviously being framed, and Jamie is determined to help him through this process and find the real criminals。 This was full of suspense and action。 It was well written and a great read。 I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from NetGalley。 All views expressed are only my honest opinion。 。。。more

I enjoyed reading this book! I have been a Terri Blackstock fan for years, and this was a good addition to her books! The main characters were interesting, and I really liked their backstory。 I did guess who the bad guy was fairly early on, but I was still intrigued to find out the motive and how it would all end。 The last few chapters were intense, and I couldn’t put the book down until I finished, even though I needed to get my kids ready for the day! "Aftermath" is a Christian romantic suspense。 Dustin had a troubled childhood after his parents died, but he thrived in the Army and later created his own successful security firm。 Only, someone has set him up as a clear suspect in a political rally bombing。 He needs the help of an old friend who always believed in him and who's now a lawyer。 Jamie fights to uncover the real culprit behind the bombing while protecting her client。The suspense was created by the physical danger and emotional uphea "Aftermath" is a Christian romantic suspense。 Dustin had a troubled childhood after his parents died, but he thrived in the Army and later created his own successful security firm。 Only, someone has set him up as a clear suspect in a political rally bombing。 He needs the help of an old friend who always believed in him and who's now a lawyer。 Jamie fights to uncover the real culprit behind the bombing while protecting her client。The suspense was created by the physical danger and emotional upheaval created by the bombing situation。 The characters were interesting and reacted realistically to events。 Jamie and Dustin worked together to prove his innocence and solve whodunit。 They grew closer as they built upon their past friendship and acknowledged how much they cared for each other。 While whodunit seemed like an obvious suspect to me and Jamie also suggested that person, it was understandable that Dustin needed further proof。 I was frustrated, though, that Dustin didn't even try to not implicate himself when he found and was searching through evidence of the crime (and leaving his fingerprints all over it)。Some of the characters struggled to understand why God allowed some to live and others to die。 There were no sex scenes or bad language。 Overall, I'd recommend this interesting novel。I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley。 。。。more

Another winner from Terri Blackstock! This book kept me invested from the dramatic beginning to the satisfying ending。 An exciting, smoothly flowing plot; well-developed, realistic characters; meaningfully infused spiritual truths; and a little romance combine to make an intriguing, entertaining read。 Detailed descriptions of the bombing and other confrontations are vivid but not disturbing。 I enjoyed this book although the outcome was a bit predictable。 I recommend this book especially for love Another winner from Terri Blackstock!
