*4。5 Heartwarming Stars*I have never read this author before， boy was I missing out。 I loved the writing and this was a great book。 It was a beautiful， heartwarming and a compassionate story of youth and growing up。I was all in with this book。 It warmed my heart and I fell in love with both Eliza and Huxley。These two are so different on the surface。 Deep down they are alike， they are both hiding who they are from the outside world。 Eliza “El” is very popular， she is the it girl。 She isn’t free t *4。5 Heartwarming Stars*I have never read this author before， boy was I missing out。 I loved the writing and this was a great book。 It was a beautiful， heartwarming and a compassionate story of youth and growing up。I was all in with this book。 It warmed my heart and I fell in love with both Eliza and Huxley。These two are so different on the surface。 Deep down they are alike， they are both hiding who they are from the outside world。 Eliza “El” is very popular， she is the it girl。 She isn’t free to be the crazy （in a good way， you have to read to see what I am saying） she is。 She is smart， beautiful， charming， sassy and has a huge heart。 Huxley “Hux” is a loner， he likes to keep to himself and thinks no one sees him and he takes his camera everywhere just to capture the beauty in the world since his life is lacking it。 When Hux was younger his mom ran off， his dad drank and became mean and abusive towards Hux。 He’s just simply miserable at this time in his life。 When El finally grows her lady balls， her words not mine she starts hanging out with Hux。 No， not because he invites her， no she pushes her way in。 He has no real friends so he welcomes her in after a bit of a front。 He needs it hse is the light in his life that was missing。 I loved it and her。 He makes no promises。 He tells her as soon as he finishes his senior testing he is out and never coming back。 She is everything he needs and now he is doubting and he doesn’t have time for that。 In the end， they decide to make the most of their time。 Hux never felt like he belonged everyone he loved left or betrayed him。 He feels he isn’t worthy of love and isn’t good even enough。 This book is split into two parts。 When both Hux and El are in high school， then the last 50% of the book is five years later。 Hux killed me。 He made me want to hug him and then smack the crap out of him with his way of thinking。 El was firm and I loved that she didn’t cave and makes him work for it。 This book had everything I am looking for in a book。 Strong characters， family and friends， great writing a good pace and I felt like I was right there in the thick of it。 Join El and Hux and see if they can persevere and overcome the obstacles that are in their way。 。。。more
