Summary

I’ve waited three long years for this…

Hiding。 Lying。 Spying。

Waiting like a spider for her to wander into my web…

Now she’s here, and I have to get even closer to her。 I’ll help her。 Befriend her。 Seduce her, even。

The only thing I can’t do is fall in love with her。

Her father took everything from me: my money, my family, my life。

He has to pay for what he’s done。 And she’s the only thing that can hurt him…

The Lark Notes:
I’ve been planting clues and Easter Eggs all the way through the first three Kingmakers books — now it’s time for the secrets to be revealed, and the mysteries to find their conclusions。 The moment you finish “The Spy”, you’re going to want to go back and read the whole series all over again! – Sophie

“The Spy” is the final installment in the epic dark mafia Kingmakers series。 It’s a forbidden romance, full of mystery, betrayal, and an explosive conclusion that will give you the biggest book hangover of your life!

Ms。 Lark's books are soooo goooodddd! I enjoyed this story。 Suspenseful! Wondering how it would all play out! Ares kept me guessing, and Nix may have wanted to trust her instincts。 But, then again, maybe not! Each page turn I was immersed with the characters。 Loved revisiting the other characters as well。 I think my favorite is Dean and Cat's story, and Dean played a role here。 I loved the wrap up。 But, quite honestly, I would be happy to return to Kingmakers time and again! So Many emotions!I’ve spent days trying to think about how I would write this review and I still don’t know where to begin。The last few days have felt strange nonetheless… I have been grieving because it’s all come to the end。 Everyone in Brutal Birthright/Kingmakers/Underworld has had their happy ending and all loose ends are tied。 Never have I felt more sad over the end of a series (or in this case three interconnected series)I’ve come to think of all these awesome characters as real humans an So Many emotions!I’ve spent days trying to think about how I would write this review and I still don’t know where to begin。The last few days have felt strange nonetheless… I have been grieving because it’s all come to the end。 Everyone in Brutal Birthright/Kingmakers/Underworld has had their happy ending and all loose ends are tied。 Never have I felt more sad over the end of a series (or in this case three interconnected series)I’ve come to think of all these awesome characters as real humans and I love them all… It even feels bad calling them characters because they’re more than that 😅Anyways, THE SPY!!! OHHHMEEEGOSHHHH!!I don’t want to be a too much of a spoiler so I’ll Just call him Mr Tall Bronze and Handsome or Mr TBH for short。 So I was correct in my guess of who Mr TBH was and I couldn’t have been happier! I always knew there was a lot more than met the eyes with him and I wanted to strip him down 😉 to find what’s underneath。 I wasn’t disappointed in the least。 He’s definitely one of my top Favourite of Sophie’s Men。And his real name! 🥵 I have loved that name since I watched Pearl Harbour when I was around 7/8 years old and fell in love with Ben Afflecks Character 😅 Nix was a Goddess 🔥🔥🔥 I just loved Every。Little。Thing about her! I could picture her a powerful deity of Old Mythology, body of an Amazon, Hair of Flames, A fierce and just warrior who can strike men down with the sharp wit of her tongue or the piercing point of her Arrow。Nix and Mr TBH couldn’t have been better suited (unless it was with me。 Just saying),The Passion for revenge in Mr TBH was ultimately his downfall when it came to Nix。 He had almost shut off all of his emotions in an attempt to go unnoticed and blend in with other students but the moment Nix came along he seemed to switch back on。 yes it was mainly so he could convince her he was her friend while trying to remember he hates her as well, but putting all his attention on her after distancing himself from everyone around him for nearly 4 years is a sure fire way to get feelings… and not the vengeful kind 😏I also LOVED the dynamic friendship between Nix and Sabrina, those two together were trouble I could get down with! 😈I just don’t want it to be over 😭😭😭😭 。。。more

Now that’s how you end a series! The Spy is the highly anticipated fourth and final book of the Kingmakers Series。 It also manages to be the big bow on both the already beautifully wrapped Underworld and Brutal Birthright series。 If you have not read either series or the previous books in the Kingmakers series, I HIGHLY recommend it。 While it is not necessary, you will truly be missing out on building a truly well-rounded emotional bond with the characters。 I think Nix is my favorite heroine of Now that’s how you end a series! The Spy is the highly anticipated fourth and final book of the Kingmakers Series。 It also manages to be the big bow on both the already beautifully wrapped Underworld and Brutal Birthright series。 If you have not read either series or the previous books in the Kingmakers series, I HIGHLY recommend it。 While it is not necessary, you will truly be missing out on building a truly well-rounded emotional bond with the characters。 I think Nix is my favorite heroine of this series。 I love how bold and straightforward she is。 She is not afraid to go after what she wants。 Based on what we know, she is her mother’s daughter。 She also manages to embrace the better qualities of her father。 “The Spy” manages to fully take after his parents in all the best ways。 They were amazing and continue to be my favorites of all Lark’s characters。Now, it is almost impossible to write about anything more in this book and not give anything away。 For this reason, I can only write about what it made me feel。Reading this book was a struggle。 Most of my theories were confirmed in the first few pages。 Everything I put together in previous books was spot on。 I hated my ability to dissect plots。 I hated that I was right。 As I realized this, I finally had to stop at chapter 9 because I was angry and heartbroken and couldn’t take it anymore。 I actually picked up and finished two other books to stamp down my rage。 I was so incredibly angry at Sophie。 The only thing they kept me going after picking it back up three days later was a second theory that came from the chapters I had read thus far and found myself begging for a reprieve。 I have to say, I haven’t cried since Enzo yet, I spent the last four chapters blubbering like a school child。 This gave me all the feels I mean, Every。Single。Solitary。Emotion。 Thank you for giving us this gift! This was the culmination of every emotion we invested over the last 2。5 -3 years。 Damn you Sophie for making me cry! Also thank you for making me cry because it means that you gave me characters and stories that pulled me in and made me want to invest not only my time but my emotions。 It’s amazing how emotionally invested we can become in fictional characters and their story, whether from movies, TV shows, plays, and especially books。 The sheer thought of the books brings tears to my eyes and causes my heart to race。 I’ve never felt this raw after finishing a book。 I never had the book hangover that so many people talk about until THIS book。 It’s the first book that my mom showed any real interest in and let me talk about and was invested, if only for a moment, in the fact that I was so invested。 The way Sophie wrapped it up was like the finality of twilight with the emotional hangover of the fast and furious series and was done in a way that you know she poured her all into it。Sophie Lark is one of the few authors, that I’ve read, that truly draws you in to a point where you forget that you’re reading a book。 You forget that you’re not reading the real-life journal of people who lived, breathed, and walked this earth。 I will truly never tire of praising her work and embracing all that she gives us。 The good, the bad, the ugly。 I am incredibly grateful to her for reminding not only me but many others of why being a reader is so incredible。 This book was, especially towards the end, was like my heart was being massaged from within my chest cavity。 Most, if not all, lingering questions have been answered and it feels complete。 Now, no pressure or anything but, the expectations continue to grow。 They are now sky-high and incredibly unreasonable。 I cannot wait to devour whatever comes next。P。S。 To Mr。 Lark AKA “Business Daddy,” I am grateful for assisting in giving us this amazing work and I ask that you make Miles and Zoe’s project a reality。 Please and thank you, lol。 Voluntarily reviewed after receiving a free copy courtesy of the author, Sophie Lark。 。。。more

There were SO many characters who contributed to this hero & heroine's story, and they all deserved the time and attention they received on the pages to make this book what it was。I loved every second of suspense, passion, and the twists and surprises that were around every corner。 I fell for each and every one of these characters, and have my fingers crossed that S Lark will be writing a spin-off or novella for a couple of my favorite side characters (eh hem, Sabrina Gallo)。 I have completely fallen for the Kingmakers and it will be a favorite series of mine for a long time to come! What an addition to this series!! I wont name the H in this review so i dont spoil the fun for anyone, but it was exactly who i was hoping!! His back story was much more than I expected & really enjoyed how it came out。 Nix wasn't your usual h in the best way possible。 She was confident while still feeling like a bit of an outsider, she was so new to the Kingsmaker world which was cool because she was certainly capable & able, but because of her circumstances, she wasn't always clear on how thin What an addition to this series!! Speaking of endings, the epilogue was SUCH a pleasant surprise!! : ) 。。。more

This is an epic end to a remarkable series。 It’s an understatement to say Kingmakers ends with a bang because there’s so much that happens and so many things explained。 And I will absolutely read the entire series over now with this new knowledge because I think it will be even better the second time around。 I’m struggling to write this without spoiling anything because I can’t even use the name of one of the MCs without ruining the suspense, but oh my stars, this is a great story。There’s so muc This is an epic end to a remarkable series。 It’s an understatement to say Kingmakers ends with a bang because there’s so much that happens and so many things explained。 And I will absolutely read the entire series over now with this new knowledge because I think it will be even better the second time around。 I’m struggling to write this without spoiling anything because I can’t even use the name of one of the MCs without ruining the suspense, but oh my stars, this is a great story。There’s so much action and so many subplots, but it’s all so perfectly interwoven, there’s no confusion or plot holes。 It all flows and makes sense。 It’s always kind of odd reading about such young characters but I love watching them grow and change because so much hinges on the transformation。 Dean and Cat are probably still my favorite couple of the bunch, just barely edging out the others, but I really enjoyed this book, too。 I don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just say that the MCs weren’t who I expected, but their story is amazing。 Reading this book was like watching an action movie in my head。 The author has a gift for description, really painting a picture with her words and I love that in a book。 This story was riveting from the first page。 More than once, I thought I knew what was coming next only to be surprised, which is rare。 One thing I wasn’t expecting at all was a third POV but it added so much to the story。 The epilogue wraps up all the storylines for the various characters throughout the series nicely, which is one of my favorite things。 I’m always sad to see a great series end but I couldn’t imagine a better ending for this one。 I loved everything about it。 。。。more

No Spoiler Review。The Spy is like the perfect bow wrapping the Kingmakers series together。 It all comes full circle。 Every question, every bit of mystery that was lingering over the last three books has its answer in between those pages。We all had our theories about the Spy’s identity。 Whether you were right or wrong, no one is prepared for the level of hotness and dreaminess that he brings with him。 His struggles will twist your insides, so will his love for Nix。Our heroine, Nix, is simply the No Spoiler Review。The Spy is like the perfect bow wrapping the Kingmakers series together。 It all comes full circle。 Every question, every bit of mystery that was lingering over the last three books has its answer in between those pages。We all had our theories about the Spy’s identity。 Whether you were right or wrong, no one is prepared for the level of hotness and dreaminess that he brings with him。 His struggles will twist your insides, so will his love for Nix。Our heroine, Nix, is simply the wild child we’ve all been waiting for。 Fiercely independent, honest, and true with a nice short temper to top it all off。 She’s an Amazon in disguise and is the perfect challenging match for the Spy。A special tribute to Sabrina。 My number one spirit animal from Sophie’s book has always been Aida。 From the moment I met her, she was it。 That spot has been challenged by Sabrina Gallo。 They now share that place in my heart now。 Not only is Sabrina just as fierce, unruly, and passionate as Aida, but she also has that little crazy edge from Nero。 A winning combo on all angles。I am very sad to see this series end but we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ending。 100% recommend。 10/10。 。。。more

Let me just say that Sophie Lark is my newest author to be waiting for, The Spy was my first novel and will certainly not be the last。 I am going straight to find the previous books in her Kingmakers series after I finish here! This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time。 From beginning to the end war takes us on an action packed journey。 There's angst, there's heartbreak and trauma, and healing and HEA。 I have to give this author so much kudos for being able to keep the action going Let me just say that Sophie Lark is my newest author to be waiting for, The Spy was my first novel and will certainly not be the last。 I am going straight to find the previous books in her Kingmakers series after I finish here! This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time。 From beginning to the end war takes us on an action packed journey。 There's angst, there's heartbreak and trauma, and healing and HEA。 I have to give this author so much kudos for being able to keep the action going and also keeping us going that's a hard story to weave and then there is a love story going on as well。 So many twists and turns and complex developments。 The story between the Spy and Nix is Epic。 At first I was wondering if they were in fact the people that would end up together, again first book from his author so I had no idea what to expect, but then the connection between them is sizzling hot。 I love the internal struggle of our guy, and how he grows and changes throughout the story。 I am almost sad that I started this series at the end! I cannot wait to start at the beginning and see how all these characters got here。 Happy reading! 。。。more

Objectively, and as a series conclusion, this was a perfect book。 Sophie tied up the loose ends, brought narrative threads and characters together, and concluded the action so skillfully like the elegant and intelligent spider with a pen that she is! That the Spy is who he is, and what he is up to at Kingmakers, made total sense to me, and I never found his mission underwhelming。 He was such a character。。。 I think part of his appeal is the magnitude of his power: the way he keeps it in check, an Objectively, and as a series conclusion, this was a perfect book。 Sophie tied up the loose ends, brought narrative threads and characters together, and concluded the action so skillfully like the elegant and intelligent spider with a pen that she is! I didn't feel much connection with Nix, but weirdly, the way Sophie writes her is uniquely marvelous, so Nix might be the one whose creation I admired the most。 She feels like a creature out of folklore, mythical, even。 Her theme song, Siren, has been in my mouth for days, it's so dreamy, rhythmic, sensual, and also sad in a way that appeals to me, for it is not overt。 Like Nix herself: with her rough red hair, familiarity with nature, and her honesty, rawness, and enthusiasm。 I could feel how affected the Spy was by those qualities, I agree with him。。。 I always felt like I was looking at these characters, the settings -running water, intricate branches, mossy openings and fields- and touching them, as if they were paintings。 I felt so alive, kudos to Sophie for rejuvenating her reader solely by words on page。 She writes the most sensual landscapes, steamy scenes, intimate conversations。 Overall, I liked the Spy。 It was intense as usual, and a satisfactory farewell to Kingmakers。 I'm staying tuned, and I know that Sophie Lark will just keep surpassing herself with every new book as is her custom。 。。。more

Wow wow wow! What an epic ending to one of my all time favorite series! I can't believe it's over, but these books will definitely stay with me and I'm already planning a reread asap。 There are so many connected characters and I greatly enjoyed trying to put clues together and finding Easter eggs from previous books。 Lark is a genius in how she wove everything together and wrote a series that took over my soul。 I don't want to give spoilers for those that haven't read this, but I will say I was Wow wow wow! I was ecstatic to see more Gallos, Griffins, and Wilks and I hope they are featured in future stories because I'm not ready to let go。These books have been an adventure and led me to a whole community of Lark readers。 I'm so happy I discovered these wonderful people and have made connections that hopefully will last for a long time to come。 This is more than just reading and I thank Sophie for bringing us together! 。。。more
