Some good takeaways here…。butI am a negotiator and teach negotiation myself。 There are some really good points here like the part about having a rhythm but it never really walks you from point a to point b。 And I would never recommend to go to a mediation in beach clothes unless you are in Honolulu where everyone (except for me) was wearing Hawaiian shirts。

I enjoyed this quick read by Cash Nickerson, who argues that people are a part of the challenge of a negotiation and not to be separated from the underlying dynamic。 He encourages readers to adopt the mindset of an investigative journalist and view negotiations as a process of discovery。 The book itself is organized into bitesized chunks with numerous examples from Nickerson’s long legal and business career。 If you have ever wondered why some deals happen even though they make no business sense, I enjoyed this quick read by Cash Nickerson, who argues that people are a part of the challenge of a negotiation and not to be separated from the underlying dynamic。 He encourages readers to adopt the mindset of an investigative journalist and view negotiations as a process of discovery。 The book itself is organized into bitesized chunks with numerous examples from Nickerson’s long legal and business career。 If you have ever wondered why some deals happen even though they make no business sense, this book helps explain why。 Certain of Nickerson’s mantras stick in your head (“Beware the Strategic Deal!”)。 I will certainly be pulling up the Kindle version of this book up on my iPhone in the future。 Highly recommend! 。。。more

Negotiation Strategies for Life and Business The book flows well using martial arts as a vehicle for understanding negotiation techniques and strategies。 As in his previous books there is a direct correlation to listening skills, paying attention, and subordination of the ego。 I liked that the author wove in real stories and circumstances。 You get the sense that these strategies and techniques were developed ‘in the arena’ which makes them more powerful。
