Beatrice Gleaves,
Love this series
Tom Intiso,
More, please。 NOW! (This headline was blatantly stolen from another review I wrote。) What can you say that's both honest and sincere when the book you're reviewing is the next in a series which you have obviously committed to? This challenge gets even worse when one considers that, in many respects, this is NOT the 5th book in a series but rather the 17th?Did you catch that? SEVENTEEN!!!!So let's be blunt。 If people are reading 17 frickin' books, than there is obviously something worthwhile ther More, please。 NOW! It's like I never got off the Ferris Wheel of Time for Gawd's sake。 And if you don't get that joke count yourself lucky。 In any event, in an attempt to sound like a valid reviewer, let me say that the saga of the Beaufont family remains engaging and addictive。 I was also very pleased to see one supporting cast member get his moment in the sun, but I will admit that I'm not happy with the levels of insecurity and temerity he showed as we got to know him better。 It just felt a bit contradictory to have this character dispensing wisdom on the one hand and displaying insecurities with the next。 For me it wasn't an excellent fit。 And if THAT is the only constructive criticism I can muster, well I guess you've got an awesome book ahead of you to read。 。。。more
Sarah McKevitt,
Sarah Noffke does it again – strong characters, amazing storyline, laughter and tears。Much like her mum and aunt, Paris’s personal growth is rapid – from a young woman who hated love and would rather start fights (for justice of course), she has grown into an exceptional woman who thinks outside of the box which brings people together。 Her questions throw everything at the Fairy Godmother College into disarray at first, but then everything comes together。 Her breath of fresh air in a stale envir Sarah Noffke does it again – strong characters, amazing storyline, laughter and tears。Much like her mum and aunt, Paris’s personal growth is rapid – from a young woman who hated love and would rather start fights (for justice of course), she has grown into an exceptional woman who thinks outside of the box which brings people together。 Her questions throw everything at the Fairy Godmother College into disarray at first, but then everything comes together。 Her breath of fresh air in a stale environment works, much to the consternation of at least one Fairy Godmother in training (yes, that’s you Becky!)Agent Ruby is stepping up his plans to overthrow Saint Valentine and take his place。 Paris doesn’t believe Agent Topaz is the one who tried to kill Saint Valentine and frame her for it – but she has no proof。 But she’s on the case and she will get the bad guy。The love meter is dropping quickly again – people are becoming addicted to their mobile phones and are ignoring everyone and everything around them。 Paris learns that a spell is being cast and she asks her Aunt Sophia and Lunis for help。 The interactions between Lunis and Faraday are HILARIOUS。There are more reunions where Liv and Stefan are concerned – you WILL need tissues。。。。 again! (damn you Sarah, you owe me a couple of boxes now lol)I love this series just as much as I do the Liv and Sophia books and I can’t wait for the next book。 。。。more
Lois Alston,
Outstanding Fairy storyA really, really great story on releasing Hemingway's mother finally and what Paris and Hemingway had to gather to accomplish it。 Finally able to prove Agent Ruby is the actual bad guy。 Some people are really afraid of change。 Outstanding Fairy storyA really, really great story on releasing Hemingway's mother finally and what Paris and Hemingway had to gather to accomplish it。 Finally able to prove Agent Ruby is the actual bad guy。 Some people are really afraid of change。 。。。more
Bec,
Great story to progress the series。 Paris and Faraday have a few distinct tasks in The Independent Fairy, which they tackle separately。 It was great for Faraday to have his chance to be a hero。。。。and Paris was, as always, kicking some goals in saving the love meter and the world! They get great help from Sophia and her dragon riders and it looks like Liv's involvemnt might ramp up in the next book。 I love how all the Beaufont series merge together。 Great story to progress the series。 Paris and Faraday have a few distinct tasks in The Independent Fairy, which they tackle separately。 It was great for Faraday to have his chance to be a hero。。。。and Paris was, as always, kicking some goals in saving the love meter and the world!
