This book had the makings for greatness from the beginning。 Good， evil， fae， magic， Shannon Mayer AND Kelly St。 Clare？！ And no big surprise here， but those ladies delivered in a HUGE way！ It was an excellent， enthralling read and I cannot wait to have the next book in my hands to read。 Kallik might be my new favorite heroine， an honor previously held by Shannon’s Lark。 Time will tell if Shannon’s managed to displace her own awesomeness with a new heroine。

I received an ARC for this novel， which I was super excited about！ I’ve read all of Kelly St。 Clare’s books and most of Shannon Mayer’s books， so I was eager to see how a joint book by both authors would turn out- this joint effort did not disappoint。A Court of Honey and Ash had excellent world development。 The magical system was unique and made sense throughout the novel。 The character development was also spot on。 These authors slowly revealed the history and personality of the characters， whi I received an ARC for this novel， which I was super excited about！ I’ve read all of Kelly St。 Clare’s books and most of Shannon Mayer’s books， so I was eager to see how a joint book by both authors would turn out- this joint effort did not disappoint。A Court of Honey and Ash had excellent world development。 The magical system was unique and made sense throughout the novel。 The character development was also spot on。 These authors slowly revealed the history and personality of the characters， which kept me waiting for more （in a good way）。 I don’t particularly enjoy reading novels where the entire history of a character is just thyroxin out there。 Slow reveals after important/emotional scenes in the book really tie in the significance of how the characters’ pasts have impacted them。 This book does really well with that！The romance was what I would call a slow-burn， but definitely filled with tension！ This has a friends to enemies to lovers kind of trope， which is seriously my favorite！ If you like enemies to lovers， this is the book for you。A Court of Honey and Ash also has some major problems lot twists that I never saw coming。 This is pretty standard for Kelly St。 Clare—-plot twists that come out of nowhere and leave you reeling。 I love an unpredictable book！ This book is unpredictable and addictive…The novel does end on a cliffhanger， but not a terrible one。 Even though I desperately want to read the next book in this series， I wasn’t left gutted at the end。 There are a lot of unanswered questions and unknowns for the character and world， but I wasn’t left feeling disappointed。If you like steamy romance， enemies to lovers， fantasy， magic， and a badass heroine…please read this。 Do yourself a favor and read it。 This book will not disappoint you！ 。。。more

4。25 StarsThis series is off to a great start for sure！ It was action packed， mysterious， magical， and had a touch of romance with a hot unseelie fae。 It was pretty much everything we can look forward to and more， but at the same time， it had a uniqueness to it which i thoroughly enjoyed。I'm a newbie to Shannon， and have read almost every book of Kelly's， and this definitely has a Kelly St Clare vibe to it， with a strong and resilient heroine on the run， but I'm surprised at how flawlessly cohes 4。25 StarsThis series is off to a great start for sure！ It was action packed， mysterious， magical， and had a touch of romance with a hot unseelie fae。 It was pretty much everything we can look forward to and more， but at the same time， it had a uniqueness to it which i thoroughly enjoyed。I'm a newbie to Shannon， and have read almost every book of Kelly's， and this definitely has a Kelly St Clare vibe to it， with a strong and resilient heroine on the run， but I'm surprised at how flawlessly cohesive the writing was and I wasn't able to tell one author from another， which definitely puts Mayer on the top of my tbr now。Usually fae books are all fantasy with mates and romance and dresses and everyone looking God-sent， which， while it had some of that， it also put a spin on it and made certain aspects more mysterious。 So it kept me guessing what may or may not happen up until the very last page， especially with the romance。 It had great world-building and definitely enough action to keep the plot moving。The only reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars， is because at some points， the heroine did bother me a bit with how much she focused on her crush （not my favorite trope） and how much she focused on Cinth and men being obsessed with her。 With her crush， I had hoped she would have been more resilient and stubborn with him， although I'm wondering if there will be more of an explanation later on。 And with Cinth， the amount of times the heroine would mention men being obsessed with her and how extravagant her cleavage is basically， ended up being a bit repetitive。 So I am hoping the next book cuts back on that a bit。Overall though， this was a very promising book and start to a series。 I'm also super excited to see what happens next and finally be given some more explanations hopefully， especially after that crazy end。 Looking forward to it for sure！*ARC Provided in Exchange for a Honest Review* 。。。more

Wow。 Where do I even start。 You never know what you'll get when you have two different authors collaborating together on a book。 All I can say is wow！ The pair wrote seamlessly together。 There were a few parts where I thought I knew who was writing but it was seriously hard to tell。 We follow a kick ass heroine who has had a rough life to say the least。 An unwanted orphan who just happens to have a crazy amount of power。 But being a mutt she's been pushed down， abused， and had to work harder tha Wow。 Where do I even start。 You never know what you'll get when you have two different authors collaborating together on a book。 All I can say is wow！ The pair wrote seamlessly together。 There were a few parts where I thought I knew who was writing but it was seriously hard to tell。 We follow a kick ass heroine who has had a rough life to say the least。 An unwanted orphan who just happens to have a crazy amount of power。 But being a mutt she's been pushed down， abused， and had to work harder than jist about everyone else。 Of course noone knows who's bloodline she really carries or maybe they'd see her differently。 （Nope I'm not telling you either。） She's got her ride or die sister， a frienemy （you'll see） and a band of misfits。 You learn to love characters， then hate them， then love them again。 More than once I was groaning in frustration over。。。well let's just say manly attitudes。 Alli is going to be a force to be reckoned with as we follow her story。 Can't wait for the next installment！ 。。。more
