Compelling readThis book is a well-conceived and well-executed whodunnit played out by a medley of robust characters， including a redeemed witch， a lovable golem， an intriguing demon/Fae， an endearing familiar， and a rifle-accessorizing neighbor。 Looking forward to book 2。

I love when this author starts a new story as I know the main character is going to be flawed with some kind of bad past， but full of hope and redemption。 This latest has one such character。 Rue has done some terrible stuff as a black witch， but she’s been trying to be a white witch since she ran away from Black Hat， an agency that takes care of their own supernatural problems。 While there were a few bumps with this one， I knew from the author’s own words that since book was a tough one to write I love when this author starts a new story as I know the main character is going to be flawed with some kind of bad past， but full of hope and redemption。 This latest has one such character。 Rue has done some terrible stuff as a black witch， but she’s been trying to be a white witch since she ran away from Black Hat， an agency that takes care of their own supernatural problems。 While there were a few bumps with this one， I knew from the author’s own words that since book was a tough one to write it wasn’t going to be perfect。 I loved Rue， Colby， and Clay， and I am intrigued by Asa。 This was a great series starter， and I’m really looking forward to learning more about the past。 Highly recommend。 I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed。 。。。more
