A great teamOnce again Patterson and Clinton prove they make a great team! This book was hard to put down。 I waited for what seemed like forever to read this book and it did not disappoint! Matt Keating is my new hero!

Wow! What a book! Really enjoyed it!

this is a good book, it starts a little slow but gets good and hard to put down。

Loved this one。 A very dramatic look at the ex-president and family life after office, and the importance of building alliances。 No spoilers, but you may shed some tears。

Mary Woodrow Bullard

Pure Patterson with a sprinkling of expert advisorsSuspense maintained throughout。 Despite some highly unlikely scenarios, the plot and the characters are entertaining。 Great light fare for summer reading。

I was almost intimidated by the size of this book (600 pages) but like all of Patterson’s books each chapter was short which made the reading fast。 Or maybe it was the action packed story that made the book hard to put down。 I highly recommend this one。

Big name authors; mediocre book! Given her circumstances the teenage heroine is too smart, resourceful, and brave to be believable。 Some of the dialogue between the ex-President and his rescue team is a bit hokey。 After a strong start the book becomes progressively weaker and more predictable。

This book was packed full of suspense。 I was on the edge of my seat the whole way。 The good guys were strong characters with solid moral compasses。 Mel Keating is one of the strongest characters I've read in a long time。 The ending was a mostly happy one and left room for a good sequel。 This book was packed full of suspense。 I was on the edge of my seat the whole way。 The good guys were strong characters with solid moral compasses。 Mel Keating is one of the strongest characters I've read in a long time。 The ending was a mostly happy one and left room for a good sequel。 。。。more

The Presidents Daughter - Great StoryMy favorite author。 Story line was thrilling。 Not sure what was coming next。 Im sure a lot of the details were factual。 Nothing surprises me what our American politicians do for themselves。 Not for the good of our country。

Book starts off sounding like it's going to be a lot of military scenes。 But soon takes off on plot and character development。 And overall, is a good book。 Book starts off sounding like it's going to be a lot of military scenes。 But soon takes off on plot and character development。 And overall, is a good book。 。。。more

This is an exciting, engaging and absorbing read from start to finish。 I read the whole thing in a day and 1/2 - it was hard to put down! The characters are strong, although it's a plot-driven story。 A really fun read。 I highly recommend it。 This is an exciting, engaging and absorbing read from start to finish。 I read the whole thing in a day and 1/2 - it was hard to put down! Eh。 A predictable thriller。 You can figure out what is going to happen after about 100 pages。

Wow, just wow! Do not start to read this book if you have any pending commitments, because you will not want to stop reading it。 I loved Clinton and Patterson's first collaboration - The President is Missing - but this one is much more compelling。 Without giving too much away, the political scientist in me can't help but think of theories about how we view presidents and this one fits right into the president as superhero view。 Wow, just wow! Great readThis book was well worth the wait and the 600 plus pages。 It is fast paced and keeps guessing as to what is going to happen next。 I strongly recommend this book as a good read especially in this time of political unrest。 Well done Bill Clinton and James Patterson!

I bought this book recently in Airey's Inlet and it lived up to expectations。 Whilst there was the inevitable (and predictable) 'Hollywood' feel throughout the book (very much the "America is good cop Middle East is bad cop") one comes to expect that from James Patterson。 It had all the trademarks of a typical Patterson thriller - short chapters, page turning thrills and unexpected twists。 There is no doubt Bill Clinton contributed significantly with large chunks of the novel referencing the Fam I bought this book recently in Airey's Inlet and it lived up to expectations。 Whilst there was the inevitable (and predictable) 'Hollywood' feel throughout the book (very much the "America is good cop Middle East is bad cop") one comes to expect that from James Patterson。 It had all the trademarks of a typical Patterson thriller - short chapters, page turning thrills and unexpected twists。 There is no doubt Bill Clinton contributed significantly with large chunks of the novel referencing the Family Quarters of the White House and intimately detailing the layout of this famous building in a way only a former resident could。 Overall 4 stars - traditional fast paced Patterson if not a rather Hollywood style ending。 。。。more

An interesting political thriller。 Matthew Keating has become president through the death of the prior president。 Matt is a former Navy SEAL who gets into politics upon this retirement from the Navy。 His political career takes him from Congress to the vice presidency。 In his time in the White House he is challenged consistently by his female vice president (a former Florida governor)。 After a failed raid on a terrorist strong hold in Libya Matt decides he must apologize for the death of civilian An interesting political thriller。 Matthew Keating has become president through the death of the prior president。 Matt is a former Navy SEAL who gets into politics upon this retirement from the Navy。 His political career takes him from Congress to the vice presidency。 In his time in the White House he is challenged consistently by his female vice president (a former Florida governor)。 After a failed raid on a terrorist strong hold in Libya Matt decides he must apologize for the death of civilians。 This apology causes his vice president to run against him and win。 After his loss Matt retreats to the back woods of New Hampshire。 In the mean time the terrorist that everyone is hunting plans and follows through on a plan to kidnap Matt's daughter Mel。 The remaining part of the story entails how the Matt deals with the political machine without the power of the presidency。 He definitely still has the support from people who count。 The story keeps moving along and you will not be able to stop reading。 Other than the main characters there seemed to be one extraneous Chinese character that I am not sure why he's part of the story。Generally a great story。 。。。more

Super God Read, excellent detailsThis book is excellent, the story is completely believable and the action real。 All the details down to type of aircraft and weapons is correct。 The characters are real and believable。 Highly recommend。

This book is incredible!! When they labeled it a thriller, that was no lie! I was literally on the edge of my seat the whole time! So stressful, but so amazing! Another fantastic book by the great writing duo, James and Bill!

Read All NightI highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to get caught up in a story, whether it's fact or fiction。 Clinton and Patterson weave a plot that could (heaven forbid) happen in today's world。 I could hardly put this book down - only when it fell in my face and woke me up! I couldn't wait to get to the end to find out what would happen: yet I didn't want the story to be over。 Read All NightI highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to get caught up in a story, whether it's fact or fiction。 Clinton and Patterson weave a plot that could (heaven forbid) happen in today's world。 I could hardly put this book down - only when it fell in my face and woke me up! James Patterson and Bill Clinton's second installment of a thriller is perfect for summer reading。 However, this second project was not as strong as their first collaboration, The President is Missing。 My selection of 3 stars reflects that I enjoyed the overall storyline and thriller read (it would have been a 4)。 However, two things about the writing left me disappointed。 First, the dialogue for the female characters, mainly Mel the daughter and Samantha the wife, were awkward at best。 Too ofte James Patterson and Bill Clinton's second installment of a thriller is perfect for summer reading。 However, this second project was not as strong as their first collaboration, The President is Missing。 My selection of 3 stars reflects that I enjoyed the overall storyline and thriller read (it would have been a 4)。 However, two things about the writing left me disappointed。 First, the dialogue for the female characters, mainly Mel the daughter and Samantha the wife, were awkward at best。 Too often Mel's character would engage in savvy and high intelligent action, but the words fit a middle schooler。 Second, there was too much repetition of who a character was。 Countless times I read -- "Richard, the President's husband and Chief of Staff" said, did, etc。 The reader knows who Richard is (this isn't a Russian novel with 52 different characters) and this labeling is a distraction to an otherwise enjoyable thriller with twists I did not see coming。If there is a third installation from Clinton and Patterson, I will certainly purchase and read the story。 I just felt the writing here did not always match the depth of the plot。 。。。more

An enjoyable escapist read, this is a good beach book。 I don't think anyone will ever claim James Patterson is a great literary author, but he can tell a good, if rather formulaic, story that makes the book hard to put down。 I'm not sure what part ex-President Clinton had in the writing of this book, other than to lend his name for greater book sales。 The style is clearly standard Patterson, much of descriptions of the Seals and Hostage Rescue Team are similar to those in other novels--no presid An enjoyable escapist read, this is a good beach book。 I don't think anyone will ever claim James Patterson is a great literary author, but he can tell a good, if rather formulaic, story that makes the book hard to put down。 I'm not sure what part ex-President Clinton had in the writing of this book, other than to lend his name for greater book sales。 The style is clearly standard Patterson, much of descriptions of the Seals and Hostage Rescue Team are similar to those in other novels--no presidential secrets here--, and the book doesn't detail the inner workings of the White House or government that would be known to only a president。 。。。more

This was a great book。 The Patterson-Clinton duo, once again works together to create a suspenseful book with real life situations。 It's a fast paced book that shows how heads of state call on each other during peace times and in times of crisis。 This was a great book。 The Patterson-Clinton duo, once again works together to create a suspenseful book with real life situations。 It's a fast paced book that shows how heads of state call on each other during peace times and in times of crisis。 。。。more
