Once again I found myself completely immersed into a world that the author made feel real。 Maeve is a different character that we’ve seen so far, more dark and vengeful, but as always strong and determined。 Cannot wait for the next chapter!

Once again a great storyI loved this! And the growth and redemption in the characters is amazing。 I love the twists and turns。 This book focuses on Maeve Eville who at the end of the last book is presumed dead by her siblings。 I love reading Chandra's books。 Now to wait for the last one! His face red, he raised his hand as if he were going to strike me。 um, seriously? I can understand being angry when she poured hot soup on him。 But he was mocking her like an asshole。 And anyway, raising hand on her? Problematic。 Big turn off。 “I’m sure there is a reason for you to have come into my room half-naked。” “I’m clothed,” I argued。 “Half-clothed。 And a lesser man would have already taught you a lesson for barging in wearing next to nothing。” Excuse me? What's up with this??? Not funny。 So she was in her night clothes and he thinks her dressing would make men take liberates and make assumptions?? Yes, knocking is important but this dialogue oh god! TAUGHT her a lesson?! How?? Hit her? Kiss her? Rape her? I mean that would vary man to man I suppose then? Like her clothing allows them to do anything they like? I hate to point out but this what rape apologists say。 I can't believe I read this shit in a book。 I'm appalled at the thinking。 Then this dialogue:Was he going to kiss me? I held my breath as he leaned down and whispered into my ear。 “Maeve, not every man has as strong as a resolve as I do。 Don’t come into my room again, or else I can’t guarantee the outcome 。 。 。 or your safety。” Nope。 Consent, bro? I agree she should've knocked but ugh this dialogue implying somehow he can't control himself over her clothing? You SHOULD guarantee her safety no matter what state of dress she is in! I get it they have attraction going on and this dialogue might seem sexy (I guess to our heroine) but nope, this is seriously problematic and giving men's desires "excuses"。 Plus, not every man has resolve as he does? Like how the hell is this shit sensible? What is being promoted? They are supposed to have resolve! Will he justify another man not being able to control his "resolve" and making sexual advances just bcs of her clothing? Ugh。 。。。more

There were unexpected twists and turns, especially toward the end of the book that inspired and amazed me。 It is fun to not know what to expect when an author so carefully crafts a book of this type, especially when it ties into the others in the series and discusses one of the most mysterious characters introduced in the Daughters of Eville world。 I think the author is particularly great at helping us get to know her characters and connecting them as she builds her worlds。 An awesome read that There were unexpected twists and turns, especially toward the end of the book that inspired and amazed me。 It is fun to not know what to expect when an author so carefully crafts a book of this type, especially when it ties into the others in the series and discusses one of the most mysterious characters introduced in the Daughters of Eville world。 I think the author is particularly great at helping us get to know her characters and connecting them as she builds her worlds。 An awesome read that I would highly recommend! 。。。more

I can’t believe I spent so long waiting for this book only to finish it in one night! I love love lovedd Maeve’s story so much and my opinion of Aspen changed so much in this book。 I love how headstrong Maeve is and I think I relate to herself most out of all the sisters so far。 I was so invested in this story I couldn’t put it down。 It’s going to be really hard to wait for the next book but I can’t wait to see how the story will progress further。

The fifth in this series picks up right where the fourth ended。 While her family thinks her dead, Maeve is in a far worse state。 Maeve has been trapped in her raven form by evil sorcerer Allemar。 He holds her hostage this way, hoping to wear her down and force her to accept an apprenticeship, binding her to him and his dark magic。 Finally her survival instincts force her to accept his bond, but Maeve is powerful in her own right and will surely be an unexpected match for him。Left alone with Aspe The fifth in this series picks up right where the fourth ended。 While her family thinks her dead, Maeve is in a far worse state。 Maeve has been trapped in her raven form by evil sorcerer Allemar。 He holds her hostage this way, hoping to wear her down and force her to accept an apprenticeship, binding her to him and his dark magic。 Finally her survival instincts force her to accept his bond, but Maeve is powerful in her own right and will surely be an unexpected match for him。Left alone with Aspen, Allemar’s other apprentice, fallen Prince of Florin, and Rosalie’s brother, as well as Velora, the mermaid who can never return to the sea, they form a family of sorts。 He works to train her, using their bond to stop her from leaving, while they travel across the lands together。 When they end up back in Florin, just in time for a tournament put her by Rosalie and her husband, Maeve knows it’s no coincidence。 Among shifters like herself for the first time, Maeve begins to learn more about herself and more about Aspen。 When the shifters become victims of someone’s evil spells, Maeve knows she must work to find the murderer before it’s too late。 But while her feelings for him have changed, she can’t help but wonder if Aspen is somehow involved。I really enjoyed this book。 Maeve is a relatable character, who has flaws and is working to be better。 It was also great to see the other side of Aspen, and hear his story。 。。。more

Maeve has always been a bit mysterious so I was excited to read what happened from book 4。 I couldn't picture how Aspen could redeem himself but he did! I love the Rosalie/Gavin content and I'm already looking forward to Book 6。 The Eville girls are unassuming in their powers and influence with interesting stories and I'm never afraid of reading something inappropriate。 Maeve has always been a bit mysterious so I was excited to read what happened from book 4。 I couldn't picture how Aspen could redeem himself but he did! Mauve’s story was the one I looked forward to the most from this series。 Her character is very bold and strong willed。 She doesn’t fit in a mold and can often be looked at as selfish but in this book you see incredible growth。 I love that these books really tackle bullying and embracing your difference。 I was pleasantly surprised that I really rooted for a surprise character who was thought of as a villain from the first books return。 I really enjoyed the character development from past characte Mauve’s story was the one I looked forward to the most from this series。 Her character is very bold and strong willed。 She doesn’t fit in a mold and can often be looked at as selfish but in this book you see incredible growth。 I love that these books really tackle bullying and embracing your difference。 I was pleasantly surprised that I really rooted for a surprise character who was thought of as a villain from the first books return。 I really enjoyed the character development from past characters but honestly even if you had never read the other books it’s explained well so that you understand the depths of their past as they venture towards the future。 This world is described in such a way that while you’re reading you truly feel like it’s your world。 I cherish getting to know each daughter of Eville but will say Mauve will continue to be my favorite。 。。。more

Loved this! I’ve been enjoying reading each of the Daughters Eville’s story and now it’s Maeve’s turn。 Here we learn more about what makes her such a firecracker! I also liked how we get to learn more about Aspen’s character as well, because he didn’t at first seem to be character I would root for。 Additionally I liked how this installment continues the story from the previous books and sheds light on plot lines from the other ones too。 Overall I highly enjoyed this story and am eagerly waiting Loved this! With each book in this series, I find myself drawn in further to the lives of the Eville sisters。 Although this could be read as a standalone book, it is much easier to understand the context if read in order in the series。 In this book, I found a lot of parallels between real life and this fictional world。 Quotes like they fear you because they don't understand you make me think of a lot of what is going on in the world with gender and race stereotypes and discrimination。 I really enjoyed this With each book in this series, I find myself drawn in further to the lives of the Eville sisters。 Although this could be read as a standalone book, it is much easier to understand the context if read in order in the series。 In this book, I found a lot of parallels between real life and this fictional world。 Quotes like they fear you because they don't understand you make me think of a lot of what is going on in the world with gender and race stereotypes and discrimination。 I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next one in the series。 。。。more

I loved this one! I don’t know if it was just the character’s personalities or if it was a little bit of a slower burn but I enjoyed the falling in love instead being suddenly in love。 I also loved that Chanda makes sure to do exactly what you don’t want to happen because it has to。 Wonderful read 🥰

I am beside myself with how this book went。 There was so much emotion。 Maeve has to overcome so much。 I am not sure if she will ever recover。 She puts up a hard fight。 You are going to love this book。 Just like the other ones。 Each sister has to over come their flaws。 There are some strong life lessons in here。 I hope everyone likes this book as much as I did。
