"Dreamy, other worldly, smart, swoony, thoughtful, hilarious - all in all, exactly what you'd expect from Casey McQuiston!" - Jasmine Guillory, New York Times bestselling author of The Wedding Date and Party for Two

Cynical twenty-three-year old August doesn’t believe in much。 She doesn’t believe in psychics, or easily forged friendships, or finding the kind of love they make movies about。 And she certainly doesn’t believe her ragtag band of new roommates, her night shifts at a 24-hour pancake diner, or her daily subway commute full of electrical outages are going to change that。

But then, there’s Jane。 Beautiful, impossible Jane。

All hard edges with a soft smile and swoopy hair and saving August’s day when she needed it most。 The person August looks forward to seeing on the train every day。 The one who makes her forget about the cities she lived in that never seemed to fit, and her fear of what happens when she finally graduates, and even her cold-case obsessed mother who won’t quite let her go。 And when August realizes her subway crush is impossible in more ways than one—namely, displaced in time from the 1970s—she thinks maybe it’s time to start believing。

Casey McQuiston’s One Last Stop is a sexy, big-hearted romance where the impossible becomes possible as August does everything in her power to save the girl lost in time。

I don't even where to start, this book was not just an amazing love story。 It was a whole mysterious adventure。 I had no expectations but now that I read all of it; I AM IN LOVE。- August and Jane were both so lovely, they were so different but it worked so well like 2 pieces of puzzles- the storyline was brilliant, I loved the whole mystery and how they had to get her out of the 70s - this book made be think of back to the future ( and BTW I LOVE BACK TO THE FUTURE) - even August romates' we soo I don't even where to start, this book was not just an amazing love story。 It was a whole mysterious adventure。 I had no expectations but now that I read all of it; I AM IN LOVE。- August and Jane were both so lovely, they were so different but it worked so well like 2 pieces of puzzles- the storyline was brilliant, I loved the whole mystery and how they had to get her out of the 70s - this book made be think of back to the future ( and BTW I LOVE BACK TO THE FUTURE) - even August romates' we sooooo cool, they were all "weird" witch made their charm - I gave this book a 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ because there's nothing I didn't like in the book, from the first page to the last one。 。。。more

4。5 stars。May have cried a little at some point。Lots of queer characters and found family。 Very original plot。 Sci-fi/supernatural elements and mystery-solving and drag queens and restaurants and love。 (I have to say I definitely prefer third person storytelling)

It's hard to follow an adored book like Red,White and Royal Blue, but Casey McQuinston delivers with this wonderful, quirky magical book。 One Last Stop is a great found family book and honors the LGBTQ community。 I loved all the characters in this book, and the "we need to make out for science trope"。 There were parts that dragged on a bit, but overall a great book。 It's hard to follow an adored book like Red,White and Royal Blue, but Casey McQuinston delivers with this wonderful, quirky magical book。 One Last Stop is a great found family book and honors the LGBTQ community。 I loved all the characters in this book, and the "we need to make out for science trope"。 There were parts that dragged on a bit, but overall a great book。 。。。more

It's official - I will read anything that Casey McQuiston writes。 One Last Stop is her sophomore novel, and it's better than Red, White, and Royal Blue。 Yes, that's right。 It's better。 I gave RWARB 5 stars, and I would like to give this one 6。 If you are looking for a book about found family, a book filled with a motley crew of characters that you can fall in love with, characters who are 20-somethings trying to figure out what the hell they are actually doing (Remember that? Me too。), misfits creating a place to belong, a gorgeous love story between two beautiful humans, diverse representation, an element of mystery, a bit of magical realism, and a lovely and loving depiction of the LGBTQ community -- this is your book。 I'm not kidding。 IT'S ALL HERE! I finished the audiobook and immediately wanted to start over。 Natalie Naudus is a wickedly good narrator。 She changed her voice so well to fit the cast of characters that at times, it sounded like it really was a cast production。 Truth be told, I was a bit nervous about the time warp element of this novel。 I don't love time travel or sci-fi type things。。。 but that's not what this book really is about。 McQuiston uses it as a plot device, but she does it in a way that makes it about August and Jane, not the time warp itself。 The time warp is just a mysterious, smart, and nerdy addition。 I really loved it。 This is an LGBTQ romance novel, and there are drag queens - and brunch! - and transgender characters。。。 but it's not a focus of the novel。 And what I mean by that is that these are just people。 They aren't defined by their labels。 Yes, their labels are important because they are pieces of their identity。 But it's so normal for August to walk out of her apartment and find her neighbor in drag, and that's just so lovely。 It's a love story, and August just happens to be bi and Jane just happens to be a lesbian。 And we need a lot more of that kind of writing。 One Last Stop is a wildly creative, funny, and beautiful novel。 Read it this summer。 Oh, and Happy Pride! 。。。more

This book was super, super cute。 The way that Casey McQuinston writes attraction between characters is wonderful and I definitely got butterflies while reading this。I thoroughly enjoyed the story and thought it was an easy read。 The plot was interesting, the characters very well developed, and the pacing was good。However, there were a few problems I had with the book。 1。 It was a bit slow at times。2。 The main character, August, makes an offhand comment that people aren’t racist and homophobic an This book was super, super cute。 The way that Casey McQuinston writes attraction between characters is wonderful and I definitely got butterflies while reading this。I thoroughly enjoyed the story and thought it was an easy read。 The plot was interesting, the characters very well developed, and the pacing was good。However, there were a few problems I had with the book。 1。 It was a bit slow at times。2。 The main character, August, makes an offhand comment that people aren’t racist and homophobic anymore, which was really tone-deaf and inconsiderate for her, a white person (written by a white author) to say。 It doesn’t even make sense, because even in the book people are racist and homophobic (not a lot, though)。3。 There was a part of the book where August made an offhand comment that sort of slut-shamed her friend Myla for having an annoying ex boyfriend。 It didn’t go anywhere and it kind of felt uncomfortable to read because it didn’t even make sense for August to say。4。 The whole sub plot of August’s mom trying to find her missing brother for 50 years is a bit weird and doesn’t really seem to fit in with the story at all。 I can see that I was added in to show a bit of backstory and give some insight on certain characters, but it just felt unnecessary to the plot。In conclusion, I thought the book was very good and I really enjoyed it。 。。。more

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。This book was such a delight and was so heartwarming。 I personally found it a little bit slow at first, but the pace picked up around half way through。 The mystery of where Jane came from and how to save her was very well done and was so satisfying to resolve。 But for me, the characters are what made this book。 Each person was so unique and interesting in their own way, and so endearing to read abou Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。This book was such a delight and was so heartwarming。 I personally found it a little bit slow at first, but the pace picked up around half way through。 The mystery of where Jane came from and how to save her was very well done and was so satisfying to resolve。 But for me, the characters are what made this book。 Each person was so unique and interesting in their own way, and so endearing to read about。 Their interactions were realistic and entertaining, and the ending resolution was so perfect。 Such a great read! 。。。more

The romance is lovely and features several pretty hot sex scenes which made me glad I wasn’t listening to the audiobook in public。 There is a fantasy/science-fiction element in the time-travelling/ghost love interest that may be off-putting to a reader who doesn’t expect it, but I really liked it even though it required a pretty strong willingness to suspend disbelief。The narrator was excellent, her speech was quick, lively, and full of emotion, especially convincing during the sex scenes。 Towards the end I felt like the voices for the two male roommates became a bit confused, but aside from this little detail she was perfect。 。。。more

4。75 ⭐️I thought this book would be a 4 ⭐️ book through most of it; my own high expectations and the terrible timing I had when picking up “One Last Stop” were responsible for it。 However, the final 50-ish pages absolutely wrecked me, which directly translates to a high rating。

Red, White & Royal Blue surprised me by how good it was (so so good!) and as a result I had HIGH expectations for One Last Stop。 The good news is that while One Last Stop wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be, it was such a great book。。。。 and one that just felt perfect to read during Pride Month。 As McQuiston says in the Acknowledgements of this book, "it's about finding family and finding yourself against all odds, when the world has told you there's no place for you。" She is exactly Red, White & Royal Blue surprised me by how good it was (so so good!) and as a result I had HIGH expectations for One Last Stop。 The good news is that while One Last Stop wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be, it was such a great book。。。。 and one that just felt perfect to read during Pride Month。 As McQuiston says in the Acknowledgements of this book, "it's about finding family and finding yourself against all odds, when the world has told you there's no place for you。" She is exactly right (I mean, it's her book so of course she's right)。 This book is about the family you are born into but more importantly the family you create, which can look however you want it to look like。。。。because love is love。 Anyhow, my only complaint is that this book is a slow-burn kind of novel and I was expecting the pacing to be a little faster but honestly I ended up appreciating the slow-burn of it all。。。 it just kind of caught me off guard。Besides that, it is simply a great novel。 All of the characters are just so unique and fun and memorable and McQuiston creates something that feels。。。。。 just。。。 so。。。 very。。。。real。 Highly recommend。PS That Acknowledgements section (specially those last three paragraphs) had me teary-eyed。 。。。more

What else can we say about Casey McQuiston。 Everything she writes leaps off the page。 She is such a thoughtful, beautiful writer of modern times。 The way she wrote about the Q train is the epitome of New York。 And that’s just writing about a train。! 3。5 stars? I really liked all of the characters, August's roommates and neighbor were awesome, the couples were all very cute, and there are a lot of relatable parts of this book where the quotes really resonated with me about figuring out your life and not knowing what to do。 But I also feel like it was a bit too long and kinda dragged at times, the plot was bonkers and you really need to just turn off your brain in order to go along with it, and the main romance was mostly instalove so I was n 3。5 stars? I was so fucking excited when I read the premise of this book a year ago and lost my mind with my coworkers wondering if we could expect the author who gave us Red, White & Royal Blue to come through for us again and she fucking did。 This is really everything I could ask for from a romance novel because it is so much more than that - it is queer history and found families and fake science and the way we can all save each other and how things find you even when you are convinced you don't want th I was so fucking excited when I read the premise of this book a year ago and lost my mind with my coworkers wondering if we could expect the author who gave us Red, White & Royal Blue to come through for us again and she fucking did。 This is really everything I could ask for from a romance novel because it is so much more than that - it is queer history and found families and fake science and the way we can all save each other and how things find you even when you are convinced you don't want them。 Every character in this book is a mirror and a window and a hug。 I'm so glad to be in a time with McQuiston。 。。。more
