Thoughtful exploration of the Biblical prophesies about the Second AdventThis was insightful， well - documented， argument that we are， indeed， in the beginning of The End。 I appreciate the calm exposition rather than emotional cry that “the end times are here”。 His rational is clear， precise and he is not adamant about the exact presentation or timing of events。 He allows - and - explains other differing opinions and points of view。

The book of Revelation is on apocalyptic events。 I havealways found it a bit confusing with its symbolism， and visions， but the chronological order makes it easier to understand。 I think this is a must-read book and clarifies why did certainthings happened back in Biblical times and how it affects us now andfor eternty。

Excellent walk through revelation。This was a very encouraging and excellent walk through Revelation and related end time prophecies。 The author grabs your attention and holds it through out， while deftly illuminating the scriptures and leading you along the general timeline of events。

Excellent aide in understanding when events will happen。 Often I have gotten confused regarding events described in several different books of the Old and New Testaments。This book attempts to （using scriptures） set the order clearly。I read this in parallel with Revelations in The Message bible。 Worked well for me together。

Looking at the other reviews， I am going to buck the trend here， but I found this to be a simplistic eschatological treatment with questionable exegesis。 I appreciate Rhodes endeavor to address complex and daunting issues on a popular level as he does here， but the final work is unpersuasive。 Here are my two principle objections to this book:1。 While the temptation to explain eschatology on principally chronological terms is tempting （particularly at a popular level）， this book fails to provide Looking at the other reviews， I am going to buck the trend here， but I found this to be a simplistic eschatological treatment with questionable exegesis。 I appreciate Rhodes endeavor to address complex and daunting issues on a popular level as he does here， but the final work is unpersuasive。 Here are my two principle objections to this book:1。 While the temptation to explain eschatology on principally chronological terms is tempting （particularly at a popular level）， this book fails to provide a deeper theological framework for understanding the proposed timeline of the eschaton in light of the broader ways in which the whole text of Scripture is read。 That is， Rhodes endeavors to prove his view of a rapture-tribulation-millennial kingdom timeline （a worthy and quite defensible view）， without a broader examination of the dispensational aspects of the whole text that leads to such a conclusion。 In other words， Rhodes endeavors to give his readers the pie without showing how the pie has been made。2。 The exegesis is often forced or simply goes well beyond the warrant of the text。 Additionally， where the Bible is silent， Rhodes is not slow to speak。 Rhodes endeavors to explain a lack of explicit reference to the United States in Biblical prophecy by postulating her demise （or decline to irrelevance） arguing for several options， including moral implosion， a nuclear detonation， an electromagnetic pulse attack， overdependence on foreign oil， or some combination of these fiascos。 Such pointless conjecture seems out of place in a book trying to make serious exegetical arguments for a particular eschatological timeline。A far better book on this topic is John MacArthur's excellent work Because the Time is Near 。。。more
