3。5*I first started reading this series around when the 3rd or 4th book was released back when I was 7 or 8 years old。 At the time I absolutely loved this series and considered it a favourite。 And while I still greatly enjoy the series the long waited ending was honestly a bit of a let down。I enjoyed most of this volume but the last 20 or so pages just weren’t it。 I know what was trying to be done with them but I’ve never been a fan of that。 And I will admit that a few things that happened I was 3。5*I first started reading this series around when the 3rd or 4th book was released back when I was 7 or 8 years old。 At the time I absolutely loved this series and considered it a favourite。 And while I still greatly enjoy the series the long waited ending was honestly a bit of a let down。I enjoyed most of this volume but the last 20 or so pages just weren’t it。 I know what was trying to be done with them but I’ve never been a fan of that。 And I will admit that a few things that happened I wasn’t fond of and felt like it was written in to end this quickly。 Tbh this should probably be a 3 star but it’s been a bit of time since I read the previous volumes so it didn’t bother me as much as I think it would otherwise。 。。。more

Sad that it’s all over。 The final messages were a little cheesy but it is a kids’ text after all。 I audibly gasped when about Ikol more than once, so I’m glad the author could still surprise us while making it all work and not being too far fetched。

Damn。what a good series。 I really wish there was more though 😕

Amazing ending to this series! Brings back characters, answers questions proposed throughout the whole series! Loved it!

I do appreciate the development of the main character who goes from weak and afraid to strong and composed。 What was the whole deal with the fox, though? He was better as a fox。 Could have done more with the time travel aspect, which added a great twist。 Overall, I enjoyed the entire series and will probably visit this again in the future。 。。。more

They had such a great series and threw it ALL away。 The throw in so many bs plot twists and blame it on the dumbest things… Overall, read the first 8 and imagine what happened after, I guarantee an infant could write a better ending。

I have been waiting a long time for this book and it did not disappoint!

4。5*My younger self would not believe that this series is over! 16 years since the first book came out, all I can say it was worth waiting for every instalment。

The art is nice enough, but the plotting and sequencing are borderline incoherent in places, or contradictory to what has come before, and/or are just sort of 'there' without proper build up or context。 It is my understanding from his recent interview that Kazo Kibuishi suffers from memory issues from a bacterial sickness, which explains the drop in quality from books 1-5 and the rest of the series。 Given that I have some fond memories reading these with my daughter in the mid 2010's, I am glad The art is nice enough, but the plotting and sequencing are borderline incoherent in places, or contradictory to what has come before, and/or are just sort of 'there' without proper build up or context。 It is my understanding from his recent interview that Kazo Kibuishi suffers from memory issues from a bacterial sickness, which explains the drop in quality from books 1-5 and the rest of the series。 Given that I have some fond memories reading these with my daughter in the mid 2010's, I am glad he managed to finish the series。 。。。more

When I saw this new book at the library, I was stunned。 I couldn't believe that after six years, there was finally a new Amulet book。 I hoped that this was the final volume, since I didn't want another long wait for more, but I also kind of felt like the author would write until book ten, instead of finishing with book nine。Well。 This is the last book, but it sure didn't seem to be at first, because the author kept introducing new story elements and new characters, and this created more loose en When I saw this new book at the library, I was stunned。 I couldn't believe that after six years, there was finally a new Amulet book。 I hoped that this was the final volume, since I didn't want another long wait for more, but I also kind of felt like the author would write until book ten, instead of finishing with book nine。Well。 This is the last book, but it sure didn't seem to be at first, because the author kept introducing new story elements and new characters, and this created more loose ends than it tied up。 I found the story very confusing, and even though this partly due to how much I've forgotten from the previous books, the story itself doesn't make much sense, and parts of it directly contradict things from previous volumes。I had refreshed myself on details from the previous books by reading Wikipedia synopses, but it didn't really matter whether I remembered the other books or not, because this one goes in all kinds of random, new directions and doesn't bring the past volumes together to a satisfying conclusion。 The ending is abrupt and feels cheap, after all of the set-up and all of the new things introduced at the last minute, and the book conveys canned Life Lessons in a really stilted way。The ending leaves it open for a spin-off series, but this is it for now。 I'm really disappointed with the random, unsatisfying conclusion, and this will be especially disappointing for kids who grew up with the series and are now reading the final volume as adults。 。。。more

There's actually going to be 4 more books!' I would be thrilled。 Because, how, oh how, did we get here? This could've been so much more。I fully think this series is deserving of a chance by anyone who is interested。 And I also think it's possible for it to be seen as (mostly) satisfying。 Me, though? I'm gonna be a little sad and hope that one day I'll re-read it and feel better about it。 。。。more

I thought this wrapped up the series really well。 I am normally not a graphic novel reader, but I wanted something my three kids, husband, and I could read and then pass on to the next person, pass around as a family。 This fantasy graphic novel was a really fun adventure for us to connect with each other, and the illustrations were incredible。

This was a great conclusion to the series。 Everything wrapped up well while leaving the possibility for a sequel series open。 I loved several of Emily’s quotes at the end of the book too (though I won’t list them here because, you know, spoilers)。

The world in the Amulet series has expanded with each of the nine volumes。 In this final one, the story grows yet again, while also coming to a satisfying end。 Definitely an ending。。。(view spoiler)[at least for this adventure: "One adventure was coming to a close and a new one was about to begin。" (hide spoiler)] Yes, definitely an ending。 Congratulations to Kazu Kibuishi and his team for creating such a compelling story over the course of the last 15-16 years。 The world in the Amulet series has expanded with each of the nine volumes。 In this final one, the story grows yet again, while also coming to a satisfying end。 Definitely an ending。。。(view spoiler)[at least for this adventure: "One adventure was coming to a close and a new one was about to begin。" (hide spoiler)] Yes, definitely an ending。 Congratulations to Kazu Kibuishi and his team for creating such a compelling story over the course of the last 15-16 years。 。。。more

This book was really good! In the middle I was worried they’d leave you on a cliff hanger because it didn’t seem like they would be able to resolve the conflict in time for the end。 However, I was grateful to be proven wrong and the ending was probably the best part about the book。 It really made you think about life and be grateful for all you have。 I really enjoyed this book and loved the messages it brought with it especially as the last book of the series。 💙

Heidi

Didn’t love it as much as I did the start of the series but it’s a perfectly fine wrap up to the series。

I say this as someone who loves the Amulet series- someone who grew up with these stories and holds them dear to my heart。This was not a good finale。 I feel really empty saying that, but sometimes good series just don’t have good endings? Obviously that’s my opinion and I’m glad that other people dig this based on the 4。40 rating but…Oh well。 It was so fun to see certain characters have their moments at the end, though, and I’m still grateful for it。Anyone else?
