Summary

In the second book in the Detective Harriet Foster thriller series, author Tracy Clark weaves a twisted journey into the underbelly of Chicago as Harriet and her team work to unmask a serial killer stalking the city’s aldermen。 The Chicago PD is on high alert when two city aldermen are found one by apparent suicide, one brutally stabbed in his office, and both with thirty dimes left on their bodies―a betrayer’s payment。 With no other clues, the question is, Who else has a debt to pay? Detective Harriet Foster is on the case before the killer can strike again。 But even with the help of her partner, Detective Vera Li, and the rest of their team, Harriet has little to go on and a lot at risk。 There’s no telling who the killer’s next target is or how many will come next。 To stop another murder, Harriet and her officers will have to examine what the victims had going on behind the scenes to determine who could be tangled up in this web of betrayal…and who could be out for revenge。

A very enjoyable read。 This was a very enjoyable read。 I definitely cannot wait for the third in this series to come out。 😁

UnfinishedThis wasn't a bad read but the answer to who the killer was, wasn't hard to figure out by midpoint in the book。 UnfinishedThis wasn't a bad read but the answer to who the killer was, wasn't hard to figure out by midpoint in the book。 。。。more

Second guessing to the endCharacter development is A+。 I love Harry。 I love the banter and the heart of the team。 Losing a star bus I guessed the killer half way through (though I kept expecting another twist to prove me wrong)。 The reasoning seemed a little weak。 Maybe more backstory or character development on the killer would have helped。 Seemed a little far fetched in areas。 But overall, entertaining and fast paced and I will anxiously await book 3。

Fall - Book 2 and just as good as the first。 I did eventually guess the murderer, but it did take a while to work it out。 Another fast paced page turner。 5 out of 5 from me and well worth a read。

3。5 rounded up。 As with Harriet Foster #1, I loved the pace and the familiar Chicago setting。 Unfortunately, this time, I figured out 'who dun it' way too early。 I don't think that was necessarily Ms。 Clark's fault。 I latched on to a possible solution and ended up being right。I'll read #3 due to come out shortly。 3。5 rounded up。 As with Harriet Foster #1, I loved the pace and the familiar Chicago setting。 Unfortunately, this time, I figured out 'who dun it' way too early。 I don't think that was necessarily Ms。 Clark's fault。 I latched on to a possible solution and ended up being right。I'll read #3 due to come out shortly。 。。。more

Great read but did guess the killer about 2/3 of the way through。 Still a great second book in the Harriet Foster series and can’t wait for the 3rd instalment。

Could not put it down。Old Chicago’s heart is still beating。 Sordid weird relationships did become a sad redundant theme。 Thankfully, little gore and the Cops win in the end。 My kind of book。

Excellent Drug on in a few places but overall an excellent plot and believable characters。 I will look for more reads from this author。

Good。A 'real' cast of characters (think "The Closer"), interesting cases with a side of mystery。 I look forward to what happens next with Harris, Vera Li and the team。 Good。A 'real' cast of characters (think "The Closer"), interesting cases with a side of mystery。 I look forward to what happens next with Harris, Vera Li and the team。 。。。more
