cliff hanger ending！ Can’t wait for the next book in the series。 I really liked the characters and the story line。 Really frustrated at the end though。 Wonder how long until the next book ？ What

i loved it。 i wasn’t expecting it。 i can’t wait to read other book（s） in the series。 i wasn’t a fan of time jumps from the brides’s pov so i skipped them。 i liked that the main romantic line wasn’t finished here so it won’t be one book - one couple series。 i really liked the vibe and characters and everything really。 i wish i could read the whole series right away。

I have long been a fan of books by Nora Roberts。 She is a master storyteller and a superb writer of natural sounding， real life dialogue。 I especially enjoy her romantic suspense books。 This book is the first book in a new trilogy entitled “The Lost Bride Trilogy” and as such it ends with a cliffhanger。 Though strictly speaking “Inheritance” is not a suspense book， it does check all of the boxes for me。Just coming out of a crushing breakup with her cheating fiancé and the loss of the job she lov I have long been a fan of books by Nora Roberts。 She is a master storyteller and a superb writer of natural sounding， real life dialogue。 I especially enjoy her romantic suspense books。 This book is the first book in a new trilogy entitled “The Lost Bride Trilogy” and as such it ends with a cliffhanger。 Though strictly speaking “Inheritance” is not a suspense book， it does check all of the boxes for me。Just coming out of a crushing breakup with her cheating fiancé and the loss of the job she loved， Sonya MacTavish discovers that her deceased father had a twin he knew nothing about and through that twin， Sonya had inherited a huge manor house on the Maine coast。 This mansion sounds like it came straight from The Castle of Otranto。 Poole Manor， however， is cursed and has been the site of a series of deaths of Poole family brides， most murdered on their wedding day。 In spite of that， Sonya falls in love with the house and is determined to stay。 Together with her best friend， Cleo， her faithful dog Yoda， and the son of the Poole family lawyer， Oliver Doyle III， popularly known as Trey， Sonya settles down to life in a haunted mansion。 The host of friendly ghosts include all of the murdered women and a few other dead household servants。 Besides these friendly ghosts there is one malevolent one， Hester Dobbs who is out to destroy the Poole family。My only complaint about this book is that it left me hanging。 Being the first book of one continuous trilogy story， there is no end and that forces me to wait with eager anticipation for the next volume in the series。 With that reservation in mind， I still highly recommend this book as classic Nora Roberts。 。。。more

I FEEL VERY DISAPPOINTED AND CHEATED！I've read almost all of Ms。 Roberts' books including her trilogies over many years， and was a big fan ---But，I was listening to the audio this book and was enjoying the story， to a degree，， when it just ended， practically mid-sentence！！ I suppose， if I had the book in my hand I would have guessed that I was coming to the end， but listening to it come to a screeching halt， I felt truly cheated。 I could possibly imagine this as a duology， if some things had bee I FEEL VERY DISAPPOINTED AND CHEATED！I've read almost all of Ms。 Roberts' books including her trilogies over many years， and was a big fan ---But，I was listening to the audio this book and was enjoying the story， to a degree，， when it just ended， practically mid-sentence！！ I suppose， if I had the book in my hand I would have guessed that I was coming to the end， but listening to it come to a screeching halt， I felt truly cheated。 I could possibly imagine this as a duology， if some things had been resolved and there was a good set up for the conclusion， but this just felt like blatant greed on the part of a very wealthy author！ I hope she reads all the less-than-stellar reviews and decides to end the series with just one more book。I felt that the love story was a little too coincidental as written， kind of "last man on earth"， and the constant and gratuitous foul language from a group of professionals was completely unnecessary and off-putting。 I don't know anyone that uses that kind of language in polite company， and I thought that it was not at all in character。I also thought that the ghost story was really drawn out in this book and I can't imagine how it will remain interesting for two more books。 Her stand alone books are so well done that I just can't figure out what happened here。I did like the narrater very much。 But I can't recommend this trilogy as a good investment。 。。。more
