The book is unnecessarily exaggerated。 It can be written in fewer words。 There are so many outdated examples and the language of the author at some places is offending in the contemporary terms, using a patriarchal outlook to the society。 It would have been great a century ago when it was written。They have to update and concise the book for better reading。

Read my audio。 Thoroughly enjoyed, lessons in there too。

Luc

Little outdated, but some interesting views on reaching your goals。

Everett Feeney

Dated, bland and ablest。 If you’re privileged and looking for validation, this may be for you。

Jennifer Borget

It was ok。 A little weird and outdated。 The Secret is better。

I heard a lot about this book and was waiting to buy it and read it。When I started reading it I understood that my hopes were a little high for what this book offered, I don't say is a bad book but when reading it you understand it is an old book。What I did not like is the praise of America and I felt a lot of times that this book was addressed just for Americans。 If America has Freedom Napoleon should know or should have known that not all of us lives in America and have the same amount of free I heard a lot about this book and was waiting to buy it and read it。When I started reading it I understood that my hopes were a little high for what this book offered, I don't say is a bad book but when reading it you understand it is an old book。What I did not like is the praise of America and I felt a lot of times that this book was addressed just for Americans。 If America has Freedom Napoleon should know or should have known that not all of us lives in America and have the same amount of freedom, if there's a way to riches it should be for all circumstances。I did learn from this book, and I did like some part of it。Thank you。 。。。more

The title of the book should not irritate one, as it might look like it is only about the thin recommendations about how to get rich quickly。 This book invites you to think about your inner discipline and your personal growth areas。 The best part is the self-analysis with lots of questions at the end of the book。 A great tool to question deeper insights about yourself! One should take a serious time to think about these questions, it's fun! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 La verdad es que no sabía qué esperar sobre el libro。 Lo había escuchado varias veces con desconfianza porque me sonaba a los clásicos anuncios de "gane dinero rápido y fácil"。 Pero lo cierto es que me ha sorprendido mucho。 Desde el principio he entendido que habla sobre la Ley de la Atracción, sólo que se mete mucho más en detalle que El Secreto。 No sólo eso, sino que, a pesar de que no tiene referencias exactas, todo el libro se basa en el estudio de ejemplos reales de éxito。 Lo cual le da más La verdad es que no sabía qué esperar sobre el libro。 Lo había escuchado varias veces con desconfianza porque me sonaba a los clásicos anuncios de "gane dinero rápido y fácil"。 Pero lo cierto es que me ha sorprendido mucho。 Desde el principio he entendido que habla sobre la Ley de la Atracción, sólo que se mete mucho más en detalle que El Secreto。 No sólo eso, sino que, a pesar de que no tiene referencias exactas, todo el libro se basa en el estudio de ejemplos reales de éxito。 Lo cual le da más credibilidad。 Además, aunque sea un libro de hace cien años, creo que es muy aplicable en la actualidad casi todo lo que explica。Lo primero de lo que habla es de tener un deseo ardiente por un objetivo。 Debes tener una meta clara, una diana a la que apuntar, pero que te apasione, para que puedas transmitir con fuerza esas vibraciones al Universo。 En palabras de un profe de la uni: "no hay viento favorable para quien no sabe a dónde va"。Hace hincapié en que los pensamientos más predominantes son los que determinan tu realidad。 Lo primero es ser consciente de qué ideas vienen a tu mente más a menudo。 Debes hacer el esfuerzo de cambiarlas por ideas que te ayuden en tus objetivos。 Primero a nivel consciente。 Luego pasa a hablar sobre fe y autosugestión, que han sido mis capítulos favoritos。 Al final me recuerda mucho a lo que aprendí con Kevin Trudeau: utiliza la competencia consciente hasta alcanzar la competencia inconsciente (piloto automático)¨。 Pero sobre todo, me gusta que da consejos prácticos sobre cómo lograrlo, y es a base de repetición。El capítulo de Organized Planning, el más largo además, me ha resultado bastante infumable justo porque da algunos consejos demasiado prácticos sobre cómo organizar。 Los consejos en sí son obsoletos, pero consigue transmitir la idea de que si tienes que cortar un árbol con un hacha, dediques dos días a afilar el hacha y uno en cortar。Me ha sorprendido mucho que haya un capítulo de transmutación de energía sexual, porque justo es algo que estoy intentando descifrar。 Me hice ilusión pensando que aprendería algo nuevo, pero sólo habla de que hay que hacerlo y de sus beneficios, pero sigo sin saber qué hay que hacer exactamente。 Tengo que investigar más sobre eso。Me ha encantado el capítulo sobre el miedo, los tipos de miedo, los síntomas, el cuestionario para conocerte mejor y sobre todo un párrafo que voy a poner directamente porque es oro:"Whip the fear of poverty by reaching a decision to get along with whatever wealth you can accumulate without worry。 Put your foot upon the neck of the fear of criticism by reaching a decision not to worry about what other people think, do or say。 Eliminate the fear of old age by reaching a decision to accept it, not as handicap, but a as great blessing which carries with it wisdom, self-control, and understanding not known to youth。 Acquit yourself of the fear of ill health by the decision to forget symptoms。 Master the fear of loss of love by reaching a decision to get along without love, if that is necessary。Kill the habit of worry, in all its forms, by reaching a general, blanket decision that nothing which life has to offer is worth the price of worry。 With this decision will come poise, peace of mind, and calmness of thought which will bring happiness。"Y bueno, como conclusión y reflexión personal, la trayectoria de aprendizaje que llevo últimamente me hace darme cuenta de que lo más importante en la vida es controlar tus pensamientos y asegurarte de que no estás en el papel de víctima, sino usándolos para crear una realidad que te haga feliz。 Aunque en este libro no lo dice, me viene a la mente que una manera rápida de entender si el tren de pensamientos que tienes es bueno o malo, es entender tus propias emociones。 "The first and best victory is to conquer self。 To be conquered by self is, of all things ,the most shameful and vile"。 -Plato。 。。。more

The first third of the book highlights the importance of having goals to avoid aimlessly working towards nothing。 I think that’s a great concept and had me rethinking some things。 You have to be careful or, if you apply this solely to the pursuit of money, as the author focuses on, you have a recipe for a pretty empty life。 I enjoyed this quote “No more effort is required to aim high In life to demand abundance and prosperity, than is required to accept misery and poverty。”The middle third of th The first third of the book highlights the importance of having goals to avoid aimlessly working towards nothing。 I think that’s a great concept and had me rethinking some things。 You have to be careful or, if you apply this solely to the pursuit of money, as the author focuses on, you have a recipe for a pretty empty life。 I enjoyed this quote “No more effort is required to aim high In life to demand abundance and prosperity, than is required to accept misery and poverty。”The middle third of the book is particularly fascinating, with all sorts of practical leadership concepts in short lists。 A lot packed into a short section。 I took many notes。 I liked this quote in particular regarding negative leadership traits “… Inability to work well with others: More opportunities are lost because of this than all the others combined。“The last third of the book got real funky, talking about the “ether,” telepathy, and all sorts of concepts to explain the reasoning why certain leadership strategies work。 Perhaps the strategies themselves were valid but the pseudo science was hard to digest。 The book lost 1。5 stars or so for me in that last third as it made me question much of the rest of the book’s soundness of logic。 Overall, I suggest you read the first half or 2/3, and leave the rest on the shelf。 。。。more

Everything from the title of this book to Napoleon Hill's personal background screams scam artist。 He did not ever talk to Andrew Carnegie to the extent he claims, and if you go into this with a skeptical lens, you'll find a lot to pick apart。 That being said, the law of attraction is some real stuff and this book can put you into a nice mindset。 It's also kind of cool to read self help books from almost a century ago。 Everything from the title of this book to Napoleon Hill's personal background screams scam artist。 He did not ever talk to Andrew Carnegie to the extent he claims, and if you go into this with a skeptical lens, you'll find a lot to pick apart。 That being said, the law of attraction is some real stuff and this book can put you into a nice mindset。 It's also kind of cool to read self help books from almost a century ago。 。。。more

Didn't finish it, stopped at page 69。If you like this kind of "stuff" you'll love "The secret" by Rhonda Byrne or "The 5AM Club" by Robin Sharma。According to the author you're no a billionaire cause you aren't wishing it properly, or visualizing it properly。There's a difference between having a positive attitude and perseverance and wishful thinking, or faith。The author actually specifies that you need to have faith, better yet, you need to build faith and "the Universe" will auto-magically alig Didn't finish it, stopped at page 69。If you like this kind of "stuff" you'll love "The secret" by Rhonda Byrne or "The 5AM Club" by Robin Sharma。According to the author you're no a billionaire cause you aren't wishing it properly, or visualizing it properly。There's a difference between having a positive attitude and perseverance and wishful thinking, or faith。The author actually specifies that you need to have faith, better yet, you need to build faith and "the Universe" will auto-magically align with you。Currently, I'm glad I didn't finish it 。。。more

I read this book when lockdown (~2020) was just called in the country。This book gives hope in times of despair by using the examples from 1920 great economic fall to reduced lifestyle back in those days。I have learnt to apply the principles in this book and it did really gave me tangible results - auto suggestion is my favorite take away from this book, there are many such rules which are definitely worth emulating。Cheers I read this book when lockdown (~2020) was just called in the country。This book gives hope in times of despair by using the examples from 1920 great economic fall to reduced lifestyle back in those days。I have learnt to apply the principles in this book and it did really gave me tangible results - auto suggestion is my favorite take away from this book, there are many such rules which are definitely worth emulating。Cheers 。。。more

Great book。 Obviously, has some artifacts of the time it was written, but most of the principles and lessons are widely applicable。 Definitely helped me turn my life in a positive direction at the time。

It’s so dated 😂 it’s so dated I’m crying lol 😂 this is a book for every boomer who says shit about how times were better in their day。 No, Frank, sweetie - it was worse for everyone on earth except you 🤨😝🙄Well that was condescending。。。。 but I imagine this book would just love to condescend down to me and so it deserves it 🥸

absolutely loved this book!

A good book but I guess I have read too many similar books that it wasn’t mind-blowing for me。 Would recommend if the topic of wealth/success was new to the reader because there are some tips about how to change your thought patterns。
