Summary

The #1 New York Times-bestselling sequel to Leigh Bardugo's thrilling Six of Crows。

When you can’t beat the odds, change the game。

Kaz Brekker and his crew have just pulled off a heist so daring even they didn't think they'd survive。 But instead of divvying up a fat reward, they're right back to fighting for their lives。 Double-crossed and badly weakened, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope。 As powerful forces from around the world descend on Ketterdam to root out the secrets of the dangerous drug known as jurda parem, old rivals and new enemies emerge to challenge Kaz's cunning and test the team's fragile loyalties。 A war will be waged on the city's dark and twisting streets—a battle for revenge and redemption that will decide the fate of the Grisha world。

HE LITERALLY DIDNT HAVE TO DIE, LIKE HE DIDNT DIE WHEN THEY WERE ESCAPING FROM THE ICE PRISON OR WHEN HE FACED THE FJERDAN ARMY BUT HE DIED WHEN A KID STABBED HIM??? NOT EVEN IN THE HEART OR NECK ARTERY BUT IN THE STOMACH???????????????????? yeah I cried my eyes out at that part out of sadness and anger but other than that the series was wonderful 100/10 recommend 。。。more

THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING。The depth of the characters and their arcs had me wanting more and more and it definitely deviated from normal fantasy books with the way the characters were structured。 I was really happy with it and I wish I could read it for the first time again and again。 Wow。

so so good。 a story that will sit with me for a very long time。 i cried twice at the penultimate chapter, once on my first read, and then again bc i went back to reread like a masochist! i love inej so so much & i love kaz & nina & the rest of the crew so much as well。 a very good closing。 i kind of wish i had read the duology sooner! i think the stories would have meant so much to me in early high school--not that they don't now, but i think i really especially could have used it then。 i'll def so so good。 a story that will sit with me for a very long time。 i cried twice at the penultimate chapter, once on my first read, and then again bc i went back to reread like a masochist! i love inej so so much & i love kaz & nina & the rest of the crew so much as well。 a very good closing。 i kind of wish i had read the duology sooner! i think the stories would have meant so much to me in early high school--not that they don't now, but i think i really especially could have used it then。 i'll def reread at some point。 & i am excited for nikolai's stories in the next duology as well! and hopefully some kaz and inej cameos in those books plssjust wow! i am left so fragile and tender but satisfied after finishing。 i hope i write a story as good and lasting some day<3 。。。more

Please note: while this does not contain spoilers for Crooked Kingdom, it may contain spoilers for the previous book in the duology, Six of Crows。 The story picks up shortly after the last book left off。 It’s been a few days, but Kaz and his crew are hiding away and scheming。 They were tricked by Van Eck, and Inej has been taken captive。 Though it’ll be hard, they don’t intend to let things slide。 Van Eck is a formidable opponent though, and he has a lot of ways to throw his weight around Ketter Please note: while this does not contain spoilers for Crooked Kingdom, it may contain spoilers for the previous book in the duology, Six of Crows。 The story picks up shortly after the last book left off。 It’s been a few days, but Kaz and his crew are hiding away and scheming。 They were tricked by Van Eck, and Inej has been taken captive。 Though it’ll be hard, they don’t intend to let things slide。 Van Eck is a formidable opponent though, and he has a lot of ways to throw his weight around Ketterdam。 Still, Kaz is sly and cunning, and he’s always got a trick of his own up his sleeve。 This book was filled with so many twists and turns。 Nothing is as it seems, when it looks like things will go one way, something else is thrown into the mix to change everything up。 Kaz is honestly incredible to read about。 The way his mind works is crazy。 He’s always two steps ahead, always another angle he can take。 He’s powerful, and he knows it。 Reading his parts are enjoyable because you see that he isn’t always as cold as his exterior shows, but he also knows what needs to be done to keep up his appearances。 The other characters are great to read about as well。 Poor Nina is struggling with her withdrawals, and the struggle is making her weak。 She pushes on though, doing all she can to help everyone around her。 Matthias is better in this book too, he’s less against Grisha。 He knows they aren’t the monsters he grew up believing them to be。 He doesn’t completely trust all of them, but he’s growing。 Jesper has to face some of his demons in this book。 He’s been running from a lot, and he can’t keep running anymore。 Wylan also has some of his own struggles too。 He and Jesper both find ways to lift up the other and it was always great seeing their interactionsInej is still such a cool character。 She puts on such a brave face, even when she’s terrified。 She still has her ambitions for the future, but she cares for their group。 She pushes her limits and does everything for them that’s within her power。 I honestly am so sad that I’m done with this book。 I want more of the crows!! The intricacies of their story is so fun to read about。 Leigh Bardugo has improved so much as a writer over her books, and it’s awesome getting to see her growth。 I hope she writes that third Crows book she mentioned in the past, because I know it would be a welcome addition to the Grishaverse!! 。。。more

I’ve rated this four stars but it is in fact much closer to five - however overall I loved the Grisha Trilogy a bit more。 I really hope there is another instalment in this series, the more time I spend with the characters, the more I want to stay with them and follow their journeys。 Ketterdam felt so real at times that I felt I could almost hear its bustling sounds and smell all the scents of the city。 I love the Grishaverse。
