Summary

A novel of terrible first impressions, hilarious second chances, and the joy in finding your perfect match。

Dr。 Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining。 Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale。 But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr。 Jacob Maddox completely flips the game 。 。 。 by sending Briana a letter。

And it’s a really good letter。 Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan。 Worse, he might be this fantastically funny and subversively likeable guy who’s terrible at first impressions。 Because suddenly he and Bri are exchanging letters, sharing lunch dates in her “sob closet,” and discussing the merits of freakishly tiny horses。 But when Jacob decides to give Briana the best gift imaginable—a kidney for her brother—she wonders just how she can resist this quietly sexy new doctor 。 。 。 especially when he calls in a favor she can’t refuse。

This was a solid 4 stars until the last third。 The overheard miscommunication was dragged out so long and the dramatic shift in Briana was absurd just to create a quick issue。

4。5⭐️ Abby has done it again! You simply cannot read one of her books and not fall in love with her characters。 You get so invested in their story and their growth as characters that it’s hard not to love them。 Briana and Jacob’s relationship has so many ups but the downs of their dynamic really gets to the core of what most of us have experienced in our lives。 The miscommunication between Briana and Jacob was a little frustrating for me but I do have a hard time with that I’m all books I read。 4。5⭐️ Abby has done it again! I would read Abby Jimenez’s grocery list and love it。 This was perfect - I laughed, I cried, I goofy girl smiled, and I loved the dark humour。 Favorite quote: “ — and I got my period。 I get to bleed for a week without the sweet release of death。”Runner up: “I feel like if I died, it would take me a solid 24hours to realize I’m in hell。”

This is easily one of my top reads of the year。 I feel so lucky to have been able to read this。 The anxiety representation was done so well, Jacob’s feelings were so valid, and Briana supporting him and making his life easier bc she loved him and wanted that for him??? OUTSTANDING。 I especially loved that Jacob loved her so much that he stepped outside of his immediate comfort zone to prioritize her needs 😭 it was just so well done。 I’m so so happy I was pushed into reading books written by Abby This is easily one of my top reads of the year。 I feel so lucky to have been able to read this。 The anxiety representation was done so well, Jacob’s feelings were so valid, and Briana supporting him and making his life easier bc she loved him and wanted that for him??? Here’s the thing: I counted down the days until April 11th for this new Abby Jimenez book。 I was bummed for about half of a second when I realized that this plot included the “fake girlfriend” trope, and then I realized that I just didn’t care。 Abby Jimenez can do whatever she wants and I’ll love it。 She could have a widower with woodland eyes who lives in a cabin in a remote coastal town and writes books, who tames his overworked publisher with whom he used to share a mutual hatred, and I’d sti Here’s the thing: I counted down the days until April 11th for this new Abby Jimenez book。 I was bummed for about half of a second when I realized that this plot included the “fake girlfriend” trope, and then I realized that I just didn’t care。 Abby Jimenez can do whatever she wants and I’ll love it。 She could have a widower with woodland eyes who lives in a cabin in a remote coastal town and writes books, who tames his overworked publisher with whom he used to share a mutual hatred, and I’d still love it。 Because every time, I love the way she makes her characters relatable and not over-the-top perfect。 I laugh and I tear up and I stay engaged in all of her books。 They are fun without making me feel like I’m losing brain cells。 My only complaint is that I read them in one day。 Thank you, Abby, for another goody bag of a book! 。。。more

Abby Jimenez can literally do no wrong。 I devoured this book in less than 24 hours, missed sleep, work was pushed by the wayside and it was 100% worth it。 If you haven’t picked up any of her books, do so now。 You won’t regret it!

i would’ve liked if the author had openly described jacob as autistic rather than just heavily implying it throughout the book

A very strong 3。5Abby Jimenez is very good at:- getting the leads to do wonderful banter- making the connection they feel seem real and not too rushed- DRAMMMMMMAAAAAAThe major thing I struggled with was the miscommunication - assumptions that made it difficult for the leads to progress。 I never do well with poor communication plots。Loved the bulk of this though!

Abby has done it again! I laughed and cried and couldn't put it down。 She is able to weave a beautiful love story together with heart and support of tough topics that so many people deal with。 It's a feel good book that will leave you wanting even more of Abby's gift of storytelling。 Abby has done it again! 4。5 rounded down to 4 stars。 I really enjoyed this sweet book filled with great characters。 The plot raced along。 The writing was really good。 What kept this from being 5 star for me was that it was a little too emotional。 I like romantic comedy or mystery romance or paranormal romance more than "all the feels" romance。 4。5 rounded down to 4 stars。 I really enjoyed this sweet book filled with great characters。 The plot raced along。 The writing was really good。 What kept this from being 5 star for me was that it was a little too emotional。 I like romantic comedy or mystery romance or paranormal romance more than "all the feels" romance。 。。。more

Thank you NetGalley, Forever Publishing, and Abby Jimenez for this early gifted copy of Your Truly。Where do I even begin with this book? Is it perfection? Pretty darn close。 Did I cry?

Literally obsessed with this book。 Yours Truly follows Briana Ortiz, a character we meet in Part of Your World。 And while some consider this to be a series, you don't need to read them in order, but I highly recommend it because there are character crossovers—and those characters have a really great story。 But back to Yours Truly, it's really very good。 Moreso than your average, predictable romance (IMO)。 I particularly enjoyed Jacob, who moves to the top as one of my favorite characters from a Literally obsessed with this book。 Yours Truly follows Briana Ortiz, a character we meet in Part of Your World。 And while some consider this to be a series, you don't need to read them in order, but I highly recommend it because there are character crossovers—and those characters have a really great story。 But back to Yours Truly, it's really very good。 Moreso than your average, predictable romance (IMO)。 I particularly enjoyed Jacob, who moves to the top as one of my favorite characters from a romance novel。 This is a fake dating, mild enemies-to-lovers story that touches on a lot of emotional rollercoasters。 Just read it, you'll see。 。。。more

I have a love/hate relationship with Abby’s books。 There’s always parts I love, but they fell flat by the end。 Reading Yours Truly was a completely different experience。 This story was so rich and fulfilling。 I loved the depth and journey both characters experienced separately and together。 Briana is an ER doctor approaching the final hurdle in her divorce from her cheating ex Nick。 She’s working hard to achieve Chief position in the hospital but a new doctor unintentionally disrupts this。 Her y I have a love/hate relationship with Abby’s books。 There’s always parts I love, but they fell flat by the end。 Reading Yours Truly was a completely different experience。 This story was so rich and fulfilling。 I loved the depth and journey both characters experienced separately and together。 Briana is an ER doctor approaching the final hurdle in her divorce from her cheating ex Nick。 She’s working hard to achieve Chief position in the hospital but a new doctor unintentionally disrupts this。 Her younger brother Benny is experiencing kidney failure, struggling through dialysis and in desperate need of a kidney transplant。Jacob, initially deemed Dr。Death after a traumatising first day in his new job, is a highly anxious ER doctor escaping a dramatic past relationship。 His ex girlfriend Amy decided to get in a relationship with Jacob’s brother only 3 months after their break up and are marrying regardless of anyone’s judgements。 After a rocky start to their work relationship, Jacob decides writing a letter to explain his sometimes blunt and insensitive comments is the best course of action。 After reconciling they actually get on really well going from letters to DM’s and then phone calls。 Jacob finds Bri amazing and find his anxiety improves when he’s around her。 After Jacob tells his family he’s moved on from his ex and has a new girlfriend, he’s forced into a situation where he needs a date。 Fake dating ensues but my gosh it’s so much more。 The book is best enjoyed when you read for yourself。 The character development, the chemistry and challenges each character faces is a pleasure to read。 You even end up vouching for the side character - even the ones you shouldn’t really like that much! This completely turned around my previous reading experience for this author。 Thank you for the eARC。 I loved this book and highly recommend it。 。。。more

Miscommunication trope for three-quarters of the book and the author still had the audacity to add a third act breakup。 Abby, don't you like peace? Gosh! I was pissed off for the majority of this book and I was really looking forward to Briana's story。 This book was such a let down for me because I was so excited and felt validated in the representation of social anxiety。 I don't even have severe anxiety but I felt seen。 Then why did Jeremiah and Amy deserve a happy ever after?
