Summary

My next-door neighbor, Ryan Rosche, is pretty much the perfect guy。

He’s a freaking doctor, for one。

Humble…

Mature (Did I mention he’s eleven years older than me?) …

And flat-out gorgeous。

If only he wasn’t also … my boss。

Look, if I wasn’t the nanny to his nieces, I’d be all。 over。 that。

But I’m in the middle of a personal crisis of sorts—a recent move, a public breakup, a foiled career—not to mention beholden to a successful CEO grandmother who is withholding my trust fund until I can become “respectable” in a way my mother never was。

Falling for my boss—blurring those lines—is just the sort of thing my mother would have done。

And I refuse to be anything like Pippa Montgomery。

Besides, even if it was respectable to date my boss, a hot mess like me could never hope to land this guy whose life is 100% together。

Someone like him could never want someone like me。 Not long term, anyway。 And I’m tired of being discarded。

But when I move into Ryan’s house to make my job easier, and ignite the chemistry of late-night reality TV watching, meal sharing, and helping him raise his nieces, how am I supposed to resist the good doctor’s charms?

It seems inevitable。 This man is just a heartbreak waiting to happen…

Fans of Jenny Proctor and Emma St。 Clair will love this closed-door, age gap, forced proximity, boss/nanny romantic comedy with lots of sizzle and spice, but no on-page explicit content。 It follows Kennedy Matkin, Alexis Matkin's younger sister。

I really enjoyed this book。 It's the first one I have ready by this author, and won't be my last! Kennedy moved in with her sister Alexis after a nasty breakup, and Alexis just happens to live next door to Ryan, a hot doc whose nieces are living with him temporarily。 After a meet cute with Ryan, Kennedy actually ends up becoming a nanny to the girls, but all the while she and Ryan are developing feelings for each other。 I really enjoyed the characters in the book, and hope we get to read more ab I really enjoyed this book。 It's the first one I have ready by this author, and won't be my last! Ahhhh Dr。 Ryan and Kennedy were the perfect couple。 The tension。 The swoon。 Kristin keeps her books fun and funny while also digging into some deep difficult issues。 Dr。 Ryan is temporarily in charge of his two nieces。 He hires Kennedy to be his nanny。 The spark between them is palpable instantly。 She can’t date her boss…or can she? I highly recommend this whole series。 Every perfect was magical! Quick, easy, fun reads!

Want a clean and super sweet rom-com to curl up with?! This is it! Ryan was a perfect book boyfriend-One that I definitely wanted to hug and shake throughout the book! Kennedy was a great female MC; I loved her journey (and really loved the side character Chloe and their relationship!) The storyline was well written; there was a good backstory for each of the MCs, so you were able to really get to know them and see how they grew over the pages! I loved Kennedy and Ryan。 They both had things to work through。 Kennedy had to get out from under the notion of being like her mother。 She had to trust the decisions she made and prove to everyone that she would be okay。 Ryan had to accept that it was possible to have someone stick around for the long haul no matter the circumstances。The close proximity just sweetened things all the more 😍 the bathroom incident 🤭, Kennedy taking care of him when he was sick 🥰 watching The Bachelor together, goin I loved Kennedy and Ryan。 They both had things to work through。 Kennedy had to get out from under the notion of being like her mother。 She had to trust the decisions she made and prove to everyone that she would be okay。 Ryan had to accept that it was possible to have someone stick around for the long haul no matter the circumstances。The close proximity just sweetened things all the more 😍 the bathroom incident 🤭, Kennedy taking care of him when he was sick 🥰 watching The Bachelor together, going out for trail rides, absolutely amazing。The epilogue was just beautiful。 I'll definitely miss this group of friends。 Can't wait for the next series!💃🏾Thank you so much to the author for an ARC。 。。。more

Reader’s Notes:– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone– this is told from Kennedy’s point of view– there is an age gap of almost 11 years between them– a close relative (who we don’t actually ‘see’) is addicted to alcohol & currently in jail due to getting a DUI– a character used to have cancer, but has been in remission for a few years nowReview:I really enjoyed Kennedy & Ryan’s story! I loved that we get to know Chloe (Topher’s sister) more in this story and I am so excited for her to be the first book in the next series Kristin is writing! I loved Chloe’s needling and advice given to Kennedy through out the story。 I loved all the moments Kennedy had with Ryan’s nieces and how the littlest one immediately accepted her while Ava took a bit to warm up to her and her new living situation。 I loved that Kennedy and Ryan didn’t have it all together when it came to working with the girls, but they learned as they went。 Some of my favorite moments/scenes from this story included: an ATV ride & picnic, when everyone but Kennedy got sick, Valentine’s Day, painting Ava’s room, and bumping into each other in the hall。Summary:When Kennedy’s ex-boyfriend breaks up with her and defames her at the same time, she realizes that she needs to make a change or she’ll be stuck living off the goodness of her sister。 She loves her sister, but Kennedy just isn’t that kind of person。 So when she accidentally meets her sister’s cute neighbor and discovers that he’s looking for a nanny to watch his two nieces, Kennedy jumps at the chance to help out。 After a few days of spending time with the girls, Kennedy is not only smitten with Ryan but with his nieces as well and can’t imagine being able to be around the girls all the time。 Though with her feelings for her boss conflicting with those she should have for a boss, Kennedy is careful to keep things platonic between them, especially since she wants to stay as the live in nanny instead of the part-time babysitter she started out。 Until Ryan starts to act unlike a boss and instead like a guy who’s interested in her。 Could it be real or is Kennedy just making things up every time she looks at him? 。。。more

“It’s crazy, how I can feel like his very voice is cradling me, holding me safely。 Giving me room to speak my fears, but also reminding me that he’s there。”Kristin Canary has made it to my list of all time favorite rom com authors。 She creates such wonderful and real characters! Needing the Next Door Neighbor is like drinking of glass of cold southern ice tea。 It’s bright and refreshing! I was super excited to read Kennedy’s story after meeting in Engaging The Office Enemy。 She’s such a delight, “It’s crazy, how I can feel like his very voice is cradling me, holding me safely。 Giving me room to speak my fears, but also reminding me that he’s there。”Kristin Canary has made it to my list of all time favorite rom com authors。 She creates such wonderful and real characters! Needing the Next Door Neighbor is like drinking of glass of cold southern ice tea。 It’s bright and refreshing! I was super excited to read Kennedy’s story after meeting in Engaging The Office Enemy。 She’s such a delight, I loved her warm and cheerful personality。 She isn’t afraid to love people right through the dark times and is way stronger than she thinks she is。 The way she works so hard with Mila and never gives up on Ava was wonderful。 And I love seeing her and Alexis and their sisterly bond was so sweet。 And Dr Ryan is a great hero of the story! I love his devotion to his nieces, and really anyone who is in his circle of care。 And I love the backstory too, and how he’s overcome so much。 The reality of that was beautifully done。 But Ryan and Kennedy together was the absolute best! I love how they brought out the best in each other and pushed and supported one another。 They were truly a team and I just want to read more and more of them! A fantastic end to a fantastic series! 。。。more
