3。5Not sure how I feel about this one。 It was heavy on the triggers and light on the romance。 Although I love a good mystery, I need a little reprieve every once in a while。

I did enjoy this book because KA is an amazing writer。 I just felt that there was a greater focus on the mystery than the romance… and there’s nothing wrong with that - except when you’re reading it for the romance。 But still an excellent story, I had no idea who the killer was, and the characters were great。

4。5 StarsThe Girl in the Woods is the second book released in the romantic crime/thriller series Misted Pines by Kristen Ashley。 She’s one of my favorite authors, so I am always excited to get a new book to add to my collection。FBI Agent Zachariah “Rus” Lazarus is a great leading male character。 He feels deeply for the crime victims he investigates and is truly a good man。 I knew immediately he was going to be a character I enjoyed getting to know。Lucinda "Cin" Bonner is a wonderful female lead。 4。5 StarsThe Girl in the Woods is the second book released in the romantic crime/thriller series Misted Pines by Kristen Ashley。 She’s one of my favorite authors, so I am always excited to get a new book to add to my collection。FBI Agent Zachariah “Rus” Lazarus is a great leading male character。 He feels deeply for the crime victims he investigates and is truly a good man。 I knew immediately he was going to be a character I enjoyed getting to know。Lucinda "Cin" Bonner is a wonderful female lead。 She runs Bon Amie, an upscale burlesque club that’s located in the heart of the woods in Misted Pines。 She’s not only a caring and genuinely nice person, but she’s also a great mother to a darling little girl。 This story takes us on a journey with Rus and the local Sheriff’s Department in search of a killer。 A number of familiar faces from the first book make appearances and this just adds to the story。 I really hope Harry will get a book。 He’s an honorable man who deserves some happiness in his lonely life。 I can’t wait for KA to gift us with another book so we get to come back to Misted Pines。 。。。more

Disappointed Let me start off by saying that KA is my fav author。 That being said ,this book was a disappointment 。 It’s like I didn’t get a connection for Rus and Ciro。 We had Russ’ POV throughout the entire book。 Don’t get me wrong, KA can write her heroes POV and do it really good。 But not having Ciros POV, I just didn’t get a connection for them。 And PLEASE! For the love of Pete keep politics out your books!! I don’t read a good romance book just to remind me of something I hear on tv every Disappointed Let me start off by saying that KA is my fav author。 That being said ,this book was a disappointment 。 It’s like I didn’t get a connection for Rus and Ciro。 We had Russ’ POV throughout the entire book。 Don’t get me wrong, KA can write her heroes POV and do it really good。 But not having Ciros POV, I just didn’t get a connection for them。 And PLEASE! Great second bookI love the was Kristen Ashley tells a story。 Her characters are real, have faults and are honest。 She always leaves you wanting more and wishing the stories would go on forever。 I hope, so bad, there is a book 3!!

Very much a murder mystery。 The romance definitely took a back seat and I wasn’t expecting the male POV to dominate this story。 With that said, I enjoyed it but I didn’t love it。 I’m more interested in the twins’ stories and will continue the series to get those。

From the beginning I was captivated。 As someone who watches serial killer documentaries way too often this story had me completely。 A thriller with a splash of romance I was on the very edge of my seat, questioning everything and searching for answers。

Another winnerKristen Ashley never disappoints。 This is another winner。 The hero is manly but not over bearing the heroine is a Badass。 Once again the dialog is snappy and I love all the interaction of the characters The one draw back I have, this book has a bunch of current day political digs。 With all the forced teams in today's world, I look to fiction to escape the constant drumbeat of division。 Some of this seemed a little preachy and pulled me out of the story。 That being said, I'd recomme Another winnerKristen Ashley never disappoints。 This is another winner。 The hero is manly but not over bearing the heroine is a Badass。 Once again the dialog is snappy and I love all the interaction of the characters The one draw back I have, this book has a bunch of current day political digs。 With all the forced teams in today's world, I look to fiction to escape the constant drumbeat of division。 Some of this seemed a little preachy and pulled me out of the story。 That being said, I'd recommend it。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Ok。 Most of the book was good, but there were a few things that irritated me。When the killer was caught, thrown in prison, and killed。 She made it so matter of fact。 She didn't do research on prison society。 Prisoners are not going to kill a guy in his seventies。 Sorry to disappoint。In the end, the main character sets his daughter up with Jace。 JACE。 The guy whose fault it was the girl died in the book because he was unwilling to commit。 Yes。 That's the person you going to set up for your daught Ok。 Most of the book was good, but there were a few things that irritated me。When the killer was caught, thrown in prison, and killed。 She made it so matter of fact。 She didn't do research on prison society。 Prisoners are not going to kill a guy in his seventies。 Sorry to disappoint。In the end, the main character sets his daughter up with Jace。 JACE。 The guy whose fault it was the girl died in the book because he was unwilling to commit。 Yes。 That's the person you going to set up for your daughter。 Yuck。 。。。more
