Summary

The perfect holiday or the perfect nightmare…

I sit sipping champagne in the warm water, bubbles frothing around me as I admire the breath-taking view of gorgeous blue skies and mountains。 I can’t believe I’m here, at this stunning holiday home。 It’s to die for…

My best friend and her husband have invited me and my family to their lakeside property for the weekend, to experience their luxury lifestyle。 I’m not envious of their wealth, although I know my husband Ryan is。 All I want is to escape from our recent troubles and get my marriage back on track。

Then I overhear Ryan having a whispered conversation late one evening, and he says something that sends a shiver down my spine。 In this beautiful paradise my whole world is turned upside down。

Just when I think things can’t get any worse, I discover a second secret。 The truth is even more shocking than I imagine, and now I have no idea who to trust。

This was meant to be the perfect holiday, but someone isn’t going to survive it…

This was a quick but enjoyable listen about two couples who travel to a holiday home in the wilds of Scotland where secrets are gradually revealed。 Because of the short, punchy chapters it kept me listening when I really should have been going to sleep, but I did guess the ending。 None of the characters are particularly likeable but the setting is magnificent。

I absolutely love all of Daniel Hursts books。 He always leaves you with your jaw on the floor with the twists。 I always think I am on the right track but again I was wrong haha。It had a unique story line with deceit, scandals and lies。 I am still thinking about this story at the moment。 It was wild。 Thankyou to Daniel, the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review。 Highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a thriller。 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

5/5 ⭐️ read in just two sittings!Daniel Hurst is an automatic author for me when it comes to domestic thrillers。 I know I’ll be presented with a fast-paced psychological thriller that is straightforward, full of twists and turns! The atmosphere in this one is absolutely incredible - Settled in Scotland, it had beautiful scenery from the very beginning 🏔👌🏻Although the twists are not exactly mind blowing, Hurst’s immersive writing keeps you on your toes throughout the whole story。

3。5+ starsThis was a fun little story。 It was a bit suspenseful, but at a certain point, it seemed like there was only a couple ways the story could really go; it went one of those directions and then was a bit over-the-top dramatic, but I did enjoy it。 I feel like I usually get what I want/expect out of this writer’s books, and I’m happy with that。An ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。

I would hate being out in middle of nowhere and not being able to get help if I need it。 The characters were just as creepy as the plot。 The characters all had secrets that they wanted to remain hidden and would do anything to protect those secrets at all costs。 Oh and don’t even get me started on that exciting plus shocking ending。 I was left saying OMG。 If you ever read one of Daniel Hursts books you will know what I’m talking about。 At the end there is always one last big twist that will leave you speechless。 This is why I love his books and get so excited when I see he has a new one coming out。 I can’t wait to read more of his awesome books。 In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read。 I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 。。。more

Definitely not。 He never fails to surprise me at some point, and I am looking forward to his next title。 ⭐⭐⭐。9#TheHolidayHome #NetGalley I: @danielhurstbooks @bookoutureT: @dhurstbooks @BookoutureTHE AUTHOR: Writer/wanderer。DISCLOSURE: Thank you to Bookouture via NetGalley for providing both a digital and an audio ARC of The Holiday Home, written by Daniel Hurst and narrated by Zoe Mills and Richard Burnip, for review。 All opinions expressed in the review are entirely my own personal opinions。For an explanation of my rating system please refer to my profile page on Goodreads。com or the about page on Sandysbookaday。wordpress。comThis review is also posted on Twitter, Instagram, Amazon and my webpage 。。。more
