This book shows students that your actions do have consequences。 When David misbehaved in class he was put into timeout。 You could also use it in class and ask the students what David could have done differently。

This book would be great for the first day of school or when the kids need a reminder to settle down。 The pictures in the books are so creative and fun to look at。 I especially love the ending of this book it has such a sweet message！

I liked the message a lot within this book because it teaches students about poor decision making。 David， like many other students， has a hard time following the rules but he starts to catch on towards the end。 When I read this book to my students they thought David’s behavior was funny but we discussed how this behavior is not appropriate。 Overall， a super cute read that my students enjoyed to read。

Not only is David one of the the worst behaved storybook characters， but he is also （in my opinion） one of the ugliest。 I struggle reading these books because I feel like poor David looks too much like a troll and not a little boy。 He is kind of distracting to the story and I wish he was a bit more relatable。 Regardless， this book teaches kids about good manners and behavior at school by showing how one little boy gets it all wrong。
