Summary

I meant to capture the prince's heart。。。 and ended up with a king's。

My desire to sit upon the Lucin throne led me to revive an ancient, winged monarch; one I deemed a friend until that friend duped and imprisoned me。

Lorcan claims he’s holding me captive for my own safety, but then he also claims I belong to him。 Slumbering for five centuries has evidently given the Crow King severe delusions。

We may share an unfortunate mind-link, but we are still masters of our own destiny, and I intend to steer mine away from the Sky Kingdom and its prophecies 。 。 。 away from him

I quickly find out there is no escaping the possessive male。 In all honesty, I’m no longer certain I want to。

3。5。 Still a mediocre book, but on the better end of mediocre this time。 Again so much potential。 But it’s def better than the first。 The main characters relationship is def one of the more interesting aspects of the book once the author turned up the heat。 I however struggle with how clueless our heroine continues to be。

Much better than the first one, it kept me hooked and couldn’t put it down。 More plot twists that I was not expecting at all! Long live Lore!! 🖤

All the action for the end! I can't believe how this book ended I feel like Olivia always does the same to me!!!! She's giving me a heart attack already! This book was a roller coaster of emotions, much of the book hated Fallon and the other hated Dante。 I don't know how I'm going to wait for the next book。 All the action for the end! I was sucked into this world from the first book。 I love all the plot twists and shocking family ties。 I lowkey love the possessiveness Lore has (only because it’s a book)。 Although I could have done without Fallon being disrespectful at the beginning, I think that it’s going to lead to a crazy character development in book 3。 I can hardly wait!!!!!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I’m going to stick with 4/5⭐️ BUT I will say that I had a hard time with Fallon’s character development。 She was almost childish and… bratty? With this book being primarily character development, it would have been great to see her embrace her crow side and think more logistically vs emotionally about the war at some point。 Even in the end she embraces her bond with Lore but not the fact that she belongs at his side as his queen。 And that’s what started this whole thing- she freed the crows so s I’m going to stick with 4/5⭐️ BUT I will say that I had a hard time with Fallon’s character development。 She was almost childish and… bratty? DNF @ 52%Fallon is a miserable protagonist with no redeeming qualities。 She reminds me of a spoiled brat with the IQ of a celery stick who whines about every single thing。 She is a fucking imbecile to the point that I had to set down my book and question my own audacity for trying to put myself through reading her selfish and stupid thoughts。 Honestly, how did Lore find this woman attractive? If he can't put her in her place, then he's just as dumb as she is and their whole relationship is based DNF @ 52%Fallon is a miserable protagonist with no redeeming qualities。 She reminds me of a spoiled brat with the IQ of a celery stick who whines about every single thing。 She is a fucking imbecile to the point that I had to set down my book and question my own audacity for trying to put myself through reading her selfish and stupid thoughts。 Honestly, how did Lore find this woman attractive? Meh。I loved the first book, one of the reasons was I did not find the protagonist annoying。 In this one, she was incredibly annoying。 The crow's language and then the spelling of how the words were pronounced were confusing。 You basically had to keep up with two different words and know their meaning。 The plot was a huge stretch as well at times and it was all over the place。 Also, the whole "only mates can talk back and forth with their minds" is a major plot hole because Lore an do it with eve Meh。I loved the first book, one of the reasons was I did not find the protagonist annoying。 In this one, she was incredibly annoying。 The crow's language and then the spelling of how the words were pronounced were confusing。 You basically had to keep up with two different words and know their meaning。 The plot was a huge stretch as well at times and it was all over the place。 Also, the whole "only mates can talk back and forth with their minds" is a major plot hole because Lore an do it with everyone。 The quality of writing and dialogue wasn't as well written in this one either。 。。。more

Well worth your time!! Add to TBR immediately! This series has been so wonderful, so far。 This is the second book in the series and it picks up right where the first left off。 The character arcs are ever-changing and growing and the writing is phenomenal。 Olivia has brought this world to life in the best way。 The story is unique and the world is filled with diverse cultures。 The romance is perfect! Tropes include enemies to lovers, soulmates, age gap, touch her and die!

I'm glad I read this slowly and with a buddy。 It's a long book and I got incredibly frustrated with Fallon so many times that I needed someone to complain to。 I know Fallon has been somewhat sheltered and is young, but I think she crosses the line from naïve to stupidity a few times。 Please please let her be a tiny bit smarter in the next book, I don't know if I can keep reading about her making terrible decisions and trusting the wrong people any more。 I did like Fallon's best friend Phoebus a I'm glad I read this slowly and with a buddy。 It's a long book and I got incredibly frustrated with Fallon so many times that I needed someone to complain to。 I know Fallon has been somewhat sheltered and is young, but I think she crosses the line from naïve to stupidity a few times。 Please please let her be a tiny bit smarter in the next book, I don't know if I can keep reading about her making terrible decisions and trusting the wrong people any more。 I did like Fallon's best friend Phoebus a lot and I want to see more of him。 He's sweet and sassy and always there for her。 He should get to be happy after all he's gone through。 I also want to see Fallon's parents reunited after all this time and get to visit Shabbe。 Of course after the ending I'll have to read the next book。 Wildenstein does know how to hook you for the sequel! 。。。more

Amazing!I loved this book too, though to be honest I’m actually not a huge fan of Lore’s。 Possible spoilers ahead:。。。Everyone, including Lore, kept hiding things from Fallon—important things that she should have known ahead of time。 If they’d told her, she likely wouldn’t have been jumping head first into danger。 It would have avoided the misunderstandings brought on by not being honest with her。 It was really crappy and nobody deserves her。 Not even Lore。 Lore, who should have had her back no m Amazing!I loved this book too, though to be honest I’m actually not a huge fan of Lore’s。 Possible spoilers ahead:。。。Everyone, including Lore, kept hiding things from Fallon—important things that she should have known ahead of time。 If they’d told her, she likely wouldn’t have been jumping head first into danger。 It would have avoided the misunderstandings brought on by not being honest with her。 It was really crappy and nobody deserves her。 Not even Lore。 Lore, who should have had her back no matter what and been honest with her right from the start。 My biggest pet peeve was when Fal questioned people why they didn’t tell her certain things and they just said “You didn’t ask。” Like, how was she supposed to know exactly what to ask if you aren’t filling her in on ANYTHING to begin with? Ugh。 At this point I’m in love with Antoni and think he’s the best love interest。 Lore should have gotten in his knees and BEGGED her forgiveness about everything and then told her all of his future plans before ever putting a hand on her body。 Anyway, I loved literally everything else about this story, including the world building and most of the characters。 5 stars! 。。。more

I though Fallon will have some character development and stop being such a naive, annoying person, but she was acting like an immature and childish brat for duration of this whole book。 It is a shame, because the world building is unique and the whole story compelling。 I hope Fallon will grow the fuck up in the next book, because she is on my number one spot of most annoying MC’s of all time。 But still, I am really invested in this story and will impatiently wait for the continuation of the seri I though Fallon will have some character development and stop being such a naive, annoying person, but she was acting like an immature and childish brat for duration of this whole book。 It is a shame, because the world building is unique and the whole story compelling。 I hope Fallon will grow the fuck up in the next book, because she is on my number one spot of most annoying MC’s of all time。 But still, I am really invested in this story and will impatiently wait for the continuation of the series! 。。。more

Caw!The series continues to be incredibly creative with complex but digestible world building。 Admittedly the lack of trust and "will they or won't they" between our main characters got a little boring early on this, as obviously, they will。 She can be a little bit insufferable but he's inability to actually tell her literally anything didn't help。 When they finally had their moment I was less "omg!" and more "f'ing finally。" But The world and the writing bring me back for more。 Caw!The series continues to be incredibly creative with complex but digestible world building。 Admittedly the lack of trust and "will they or won't they" between our main characters got a little boring early on this, as obviously, they will。 She can be a little bit insufferable but he's inability to actually tell her literally anything didn't help。 When they finally had their moment I was less "omg!" and more "f'ing finally。" But The world and the writing bring me back for more。 。。。more

so here’s the thing。 this is an incredibly entertaining story。 i think the plot and world is cool- i love the irish and italian inspirations。 i generally enjoy the main and side characters, and the romance is fun (if not a bit too heavy on the possessive male side)。 is this a Great book? i mean it definitely is cringe at times。 the dialogue is inconsistently anachronistic in parts, not fitting into the world。 i also think the romance was a bit rushed in this one。 BUT this is exactly the rest i w so here’s the thing。 this is an incredibly entertaining story。 i think the plot and world is cool- i love the irish and italian inspirations。 i generally enjoy the main and side characters, and the romance is fun (if not a bit too heavy on the possessive male side)。 is this a Great book? i mean it definitely is cringe at times。 the dialogue is inconsistently anachronistic in parts, not fitting into the world。 i also think the romance was a bit rushed in this one。 BUT this is exactly the rest i wanted and i had a great time with it! the ending was exciting and i look forward to the next book! 。。。more

Holy crow…。wasn’t adequately prepared for this one Um…。where do I even begin with this book?! I am still IN LOVE with the banter between Lore and Fallon。 It is the BEST thing about this book。 Both characters tend to piss me off but for very different reasons。 Fallon is prideful, stubborn, and naive。 Though she gained a lot of life experience from her journey of releasing crows, she simply doesn’t have the knowledge of war or how other people operate to make adequate, informed decisions about any Holy crow…。wasn’t adequately prepared for this one Um…。where do I even begin with this book?! I am still IN LOVE with the banter between Lore and Fallon。 It is the BEST thing about this book。 Both characters tend to piss me off but for very different reasons。 Fallon is prideful, stubborn, and naive。 Though she gained a lot of life experience from her journey of releasing crows, she simply doesn’t have the knowledge of war or how other people operate to make adequate, informed decisions about anything。 Lore on the other hand has about 700 years of experience and controls, forces, and manipulates Fallon to do what he wants because he thinks he knows what’s best for her safety (to be fair, he probably does)。 What he doesn’t seem to care about is her need for autonomy, freedom, independence, and to feel like she has a choice since her life has always been decided for her。 Their relationship definitely deepens and the spice gets kicked way up in this book (though I’m not a huge fan of it so a handful of descriptive scenes is WAY more than enough for me)。 I can appreciate how the scenes were written and Fallon’s running commentary on what was happening had me laughing as well as enjoying this very real, Fallon-like play by play。 It’s nice to see that sometimes not everyone knows what they are comfortable with, what they’re doing or expected to do, and that their partner respects them and doesn’t dismiss them。 The ending is something I feel like I should’ve seen coming but I was too engrossed to really think about everything。 Overall this is a well done sequel and I cannot wait for the third installment。 。。。more
