I adore these two Gorgeous Biological Women。

Lisa Mansfield-Silkey

Not as strong as the first book, but offers plenty of the anecdotes and humor characteristic of the writers。

I'm actually reviewing the audiobook via Audible, but I can't find a listing for it nor can I import it via the Amazon or Audible pages。I generally enjoyed Trixie and Katya's first book, especially as an audio experience。 So I held out to get the audiobook for their second book in order to more or less replicate that experience。 This book is similar to the first one in that it still provides humorous advice that ranges from the plausibly useful to the ridiculously satirical。 But now all the advi I'm actually reviewing the audiobook via Audible, but I can't find a listing for it nor can I import it via the Amazon or Audible pages。I generally enjoyed Trixie and Katya's first book, especially as an audio experience。 So I held out to get the audiobook for their second book in order to more or less replicate that experience。 This book is similar to the first one in that it still provides humorous advice that ranges from the plausibly useful to the ridiculously satirical。 But now all the advice is just focused on the workplace and careers, things get a little one note at times。 I think the book really shines towards the end when they address drag as a career。 Then the advice, while still comedic, ends up being more sensible or at least better grounded on experience。 And maybe that's the pinpoint of a lot of the building。 It feels like a lot of jokes that they're hoping will land (and most still will) but not quite as personal as things felt even in first book。It's still fun, but it definitely feels like a sequel。 。。。more

A riot of laughter。 Trixie and Katya's cutting wit and poignant observations had me in stitches throughout the entries book。 I can't express how much I enjoyed this book beyond the simple: incredible, you should read this book。 A riot of laughter。 Trixie and Katya's cutting wit and poignant observations had me in stitches throughout the entries book。 I can't express how much I enjoyed this book beyond the simple: incredible, you should read this book。 。。。more

4/5 • A more insightful self-help book that Trixie and Katya’s début。 I found this book to be more organised, useful and content rich than its first instalment “A Guide to Modern Womanhood”。 There was less dialogue and filler pages and it appears more time was taken in the planing and sequencing of the book。 Would definitely recommend to fans of both Trixie and Katya, I got many laughs and some actual takeaway advice。

I'm not going to spend much time on a review because this isn't a book for the casual browser。 If you love Trixie and Katya you already know what you're going to get and for those fans I will say it's really good but I enjoyed their first book more。 If you don't know who Trixie and Katya are this book is not for you - they do not explain themselves or their humor at all。The pictures are stunning。 I especially love the one of Katya in the maid uniform at the beginning of the book。I laughed out lo I'm not going to spend much time on a review because this isn't a book for the casual browser。 If you love Trixie and Katya you already know what you're going to get and for those fans I will say it's really good but I enjoyed their first book more。 If you don't know who Trixie and Katya are this book is not for you - they do not explain themselves or their humor at all。The pictures are stunning。 I especially love the one of Katya in the maid uniform at the beginning of the book。I laughed out loud at "Noted - I hate you but I have to listen to you or at least make you feel like I listened to you。" from the "Office Lingo" chapter because of a story with my dad。 Many years ago my brother was playing tennis in high school and since the court was in a park it was a good opportunity for all of us to watch - our young kids played on the playground nearby and we could watch both them and tennis。 The mom of a tennis player from the other team came over and told us our kids needed to be quieter and just kept going on and on until my dad looked at her, said "Noted" and walked away。 It became shorthand for when we acknowledge you said something but have no need to retain it or converse further, which is apparently what it means in the office as well。Find all my reviews at: https://readingatrandom。blogspot。com 。。。more

The pictures! Their commentary! Their stories! They’re hilarious and I genuinely laughed out loud multiple times。 Great book to read while sick (or not because laughing hurt rip)

It was part actual advice and commentary on certain jobs, and part fantastic humor。

Laura

More delicious than Ma’s gravy。

If you’re a fan of Unhhhh like I am then you’ll like this book。 It’s very on-brand for these two biological women: absurdist, tongue-in-cheek humor。 What surprised me is that there’s actually some pretty decent advice on drag and careers (from Trixie) buried in all the joky stuff。

Katherine

Audiobook is the move

Alex Anderson

Another absolutely hysterical book from these two! I was cackling at every page。 There actually are some good tips for the working world in here too once you get past the jokes。 My only criticism is I wish it was longer as it was a super quick, hilarious read。

The humor is definitely not for everyone but is an extremely funny book, sarcastic, ironic, sometimes even heartwarming with important lessons about society, life, and self discovery。 The photographs by itself tell a story and are worth the price of the book。 Katya’s parts are a little bit funnier but most of all, full with interesting points of view。 Great book for open minded people!
