Super fun! Loved that the author shared info about each food and liked how she laid it out using the parks maps。 I wish there were more pictures but overall, this is a neat cookbook and I’m excited to try a few for family movie nights! 😊

Thank you to Net Galley and Ashley Craft for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 I teach a course on writing cookbooks and I love the way this one is set up。 I also grew up a couple of miles from Disneyland and remember that their burgers were really good。 So I was very excited to see this cookbook。It is really fun to see the recipes for the things we buy for snacks at the park。 And what a great way to have them cheaper and year round than buying this book。 The churros are my favo Thank you to Net Galley and Ashley Craft for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 I teach a course on writing cookbooks and I love the way this one is set up。 I also grew up a couple of miles from Disneyland and remember that their burgers were really good。 So I was very excited to see this cookbook。It is really fun to see the recipes for the things we buy for snacks at the park。 And what a great way to have them cheaper and year round than buying this book。 The churros are my favorite of the recipes。 But there are many great ones。 。。。more

This is a very well done book of recipes that mimic some of the more popular snacks and dishes at WDW。 I like to cook but probably won't make any of these, but it was a nice flip and I enjoyed the effort that went into this book。 This is a very well done book of recipes that mimic some of the more popular snacks and dishes at WDW。 I like to cook but probably won't make any of these, but it was a nice flip and I enjoyed the effort that went into this book。 。。。more

A lot of the recipes are unnecessary duplicates of each other-I think there are 5 different churros recipes, 5 different slushy recipes, 5 different lemonade recipes, etc。 Furthermore, there are wasted recipes for basic things like waffles or corn dogs that people either already know how to make or could just as easily buy from a frozen food section at the store。 If you’re a Disney fan, then you’ll appreciate this book for the photography, but there really aren’t any groundbreaking recipes in he A lot of the recipes are unnecessary duplicates of each other-I think there are 5 different churros recipes, 5 different slushy recipes, 5 different lemonade recipes, etc。 Furthermore, there are wasted recipes for basic things like waffles or corn dogs that people either already know how to make or could just as easily buy from a frozen food section at the store。 If you’re a Disney fan, then you’ll appreciate this book for the photography, but there really aren’t any groundbreaking recipes in here。 。。。more

I may or may not have picked this up for the SOLE reason that it has a recipe for Dole Whip。。。 XD I came for the Dole Whip and stayed for all the other marvelous, magical, wondrous treats!

When I started to read this book, the realization hit me: The original Walt Disney World in the US offers more than what I experienced in Asia or Europe counterparts。 Look at the menus! You can make tons of parties the whole year long copying their food and drinks alone here and there。 Being a Disneyland fans herself, the author commits into compiling scrumptious recipes from Disneyland to reminds you by the fun and magic experienced inside the park。

The unofficial disney parks cookbook is amazing! I probably shouldn't have read this while I was hungry, because now all I can think about is disney food。 I need to try these recipes asap。 I loved the authors personal anecdotes about her disney food experience, and the history of food in disney parks。 The only "downside" is that I would have loved more pictures。 However, I understand that could be tricky- both for space, and for working around disney copyrights。 I am definitely buying a hardcove The unofficial disney parks cookbook is amazing! Most of my disappointment from this cookbook has to do with the lack of photos。 I am a huge fan of cookbooks with photos of each dish and sadly, the Unofficial Disney Cookbook only had photos of about 20% of the recipes。 With that said, I think the author did a good job of creating home versions of Disney Park meals and I can't wait to eat my way through most of the cookbook recipes。 Most of my disappointment from this cookbook has to do with the lack of photos。 I am a huge fan of cookbooks with photos of each dish and sadly, the Unofficial Disney Cookbook only had photos of about 20% of the recipes。 With that said, I think the author did a good job of creating home versions of Disney Park meals and I can't wait to eat my way through most of the cookbook recipes。 。。。more

Ashley Craft has created a beautiful cookbook based on the magical world of Disney。 Craft takes the reader through Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and California Adventures。 With each chapter she discuses each park and the food you can find with them。 You can find Green Milk from Star Wars Galaxy's Edge to Night Blossom in The World of Avatar。 I chose to make the Campfire Chili which can be found in Grizzly Peak of California Adventure。 What I found unique to the chili is that Ashley Craft has created a beautiful cookbook based on the magical world of Disney。 Craft takes the reader through Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and California Adventures。 With each chapter she discuses each park and the food you can find with them。 You can find Green Milk from Star Wars Galaxy's Edge to Night Blossom in The World of Avatar。 I chose to make the Campfire Chili which can be found in Grizzly Peak of California Adventure。 What I found unique to the chili is that it didn't require much liquid that would then need to be cooked down。 It is heavy in the cumin and also has curry powder in it。 I modified it by adding a yellow bell pepper to it plus I cut down the black beans from 3 cans to 2。 After sampling the recipe, my husband and I agree that it is very tasty。 I couldn't tell you if it is a good copy cat to the original as I've never been to California Adventure, but I did think it needed a little heat so I added cayenne and chili powder。 Topped it off with shredded cheese, green onions and a dollop of sour cream :) I took a picture but I will try and post it later。 This is a fun and wonderful book that would be a treasure to any Disney enthusiast。 I wish it had the Waldorf Salad from Frontier Land。 It's my absolute favorite。 。。。more

Having a daughter who used to be obsessed with the huge variety of Disney princesses and assorted other cartoons, we have visited Walt Disney World (and to a lesser extent Disneyland and even Disneyland Paris) many, many times。 And they really do know how to perfect the customer experience – from when you get off the plane until you’re back at the airport, WDW can take care of just about everything…。 for a price。And although we have enjoyed the food, we never had really paid much attention to it Having a daughter who used to be obsessed with the huge variety of Disney princesses and assorted other cartoons, we have visited Walt Disney World (and to a lesser extent Disneyland and even Disneyland Paris) many, many times。 And they really do know how to perfect the customer experience – from when you get off the plane until you’re back at the airport, WDW can take care of just about everything…。 for a price。And although we have enjoyed the food, we never had really paid much attention to it – the rides have always driven our daily vacation planning。 But I have become much more aware lately of the variety of food that’s available in the park, and the special treats that are very location specific within each park。“The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook” by Ashley Craft captures some of this magic。 Ms。 Craft presents a bit of history of each of the parks (probably nothing new to anyone who’s obsessed with this stuff), but then gets into the good stuff – how to replicate some of the special treats at home。The recipes range from the overly simple (really - popcorn? chili lime corn (corn, butter, chili-lime seasoning)?) to the more complex (Gaston’s Giant Cinnamon Rolls, carnitas tacos) but it’s the special treats (Dole Whip, Grey Stuff, Blue Milk) and the bits of history behind them that make this cookbook fun。Not only did this make me want to make these recipes at home, but this also whetted my appetite for another trip down to Orlando (when it’s safe to do so)。 And this time, I will have my food stops planned just as carefully as my rides。I requested and received a free advanced electronic copy from Adams Media via NetGalley。 Thank you! 。。。more

I love all the great history and facts about the various American Disney Parks。 Craft’s writing is approachable and friendly。 The book features a variety of recipes including cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, drinks, and sandwiches。 There’s a great balance between sweet foods and savoury foods。 The dishes include simple treats like Dole Whip, Haystacks, and Strawberry Kakigōri。 There is more complicated fare like Bavarian Cheesecake, Gaston’s Giant Cinnamon Rolls, and Raspberry Rose Mickey Macarons。 There are timeless classics like Mickey Pretzels, The Grey Stuff (a super simple pudding and cookie concoction), and Turkey Legs。 There are also fun new items from new attractions like Blue Milk and Green Milk from Star Wars as well as Cheeseburger Steamed Pods and Night Blossoms from Pandora。 The recipes are clear and easy-to-follow。 Many of the recipes also come with helpful tips for ingredient swaps or to enhance the cooking experience。 I also like that many of the ingredients are pantry staples and fairly inexpensive。 Craft begins each recipe with a little fun fact about the food or location or even a ride located nearby! For instance, did you know that Disneyland’s Bengal Barbecue used to be a juice bar called “Sunkist, I Presume”? Did you also know that Disney uses smells to enhance guests’ experiences while at the Parks? There are several lovely full-colour photos of the foods。 I like the appropriate props and related colour schemes that nicely enhance the pictures。 However, there needed to be more photos of the dishes because there’s a lot of text and not enough visuals。 Moreover, while I like the book’s colour scheme and cute park maps, I wish the layout had a more fun design to really enhance the magic of Disney。 The recipes would have been nicely elevated by a more vibrant design。The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook is a fun cookbook that will be a great treat for any levels of cooks and Disney lovers。 Thank you to Adams Media and NetGalley for this book in exchange for an honest review。🥄 🥄 🥄 🥄 spoons out of 5! 。。。more

We are definitely a Disney loving family。 We went to Disneyland the last week of December last year。 I forced my family to go on a very busy week cause I needed to go since we wouldn't be able to go for the rest of the year。 I was thinking since I usually can't take time off and little one was turning 3 in October and she would still be free。 I'm still weirded out that the park closed soon after that and is still closed。 We have been watching videos of this couple that goes to Disney World to ge We are definitely a Disney loving family。 We went to Disneyland the last week of December last year。 I forced my family to go on a very busy week cause I needed to go since we wouldn't be able to go for the rest of the year。 I was thinking since I usually can't take time off and little one was turning 3 in October and she would still be free。 I'm still weirded out that the park closed soon after that and is still closed。 We have been watching videos of this couple that goes to Disney World to get our fix。 So my husband and I enjoyed the selection of recipes in this cookbook。  We picked a few to try。 Ok he did so he could prepare them。 I am more of a baker so I made the cookies。 We would have liked a few more pictures of the finished product but it wasn't too big of a deal since you can google the name of any Disney food item and there's tons of online pictures。 Disney is pretty strict on their standards so all pictures are similar。 Bengal Beef Skewers (the sauce is good on chicken as seen on drumsticks) Tiger Tail Breadsticks Carrot Cake CookiesThe sauce for the Bengal Beef Skewers were amazing for that meal and for some chicken that my husband prepared later in the month。 My picky-ish eaters loved it!They weren't fans of the Breadsticks but more for us they were so yummy! The carrot cake cookies were so decadent and so rich! There was a few other recipes we may try in the future like Gaston's Cinnamon Roll, Mickeys Pretzel and the Clam Chowder to name a few I jotted down。I definitely recommend this cookbook for those that love the parks and want to recreate their favorite dish at home! 。。。more
