I am 50% into this book and deeply frustrated。 The mega cliff hanger from the last book hasn't been addressed and we're 50% in?!?? This does not pick up where we left off。 In fact this is like a separate book giving us the back story of how Adrian and Lia met and their volatile relationship。 I do not like this version of Adrian。 Yes he’s possessive, aggressive and very scary but you mostly see the obsession he has of Lia and I still do not know why。 Not sure this book showcases devoted love rather just obsession, lust, and to own her at all cost and the hurt of her trying to leave。 Lia on the other hand, don’t like this ver This does not pick up where we left off。 In fact this is like a separate book giving us the back story of how Adrian and Lia met and their volatile relationship。 I do not like this version of Adrian。 Yes he’s possessive, aggressive and very scary but you mostly see the obsession he has of Lia and I still do not know why。 Not sure this book showcases devoted love rather just obsession, lust, and to own her at all cost and the hurt of her trying to leave。 Lia on the other hand, don’t like this version。 She is deteriorating and exhibiting mentally illness and made worse by Adrian clamping down on her。 I much rather have the more fiery Winter/Lia。 I connected with her and Adrian more than this one。 This was like warm for me and I wasn’t as glued to the story as the first one。 Disappointed we didn’t get Winter/Lia and confrontation with Adrian as it all comes together for her。 Lost the intensity of story telling, suspense and adrenaline rush and my interest in Lia’s life wasn’t connecting because we just get snippets of her delusions, memory loss and her need to get away。 Which I don’t blame her give this viewpoint。 Let’s see how it ends。 。。。more

Wow, just wow…。 the rollercoaster of mindf*cks continues…。。I knew I would have another cliffy hanging over my head but still couldn’t resist diving into Book 2 of the Deception series。I am going to say this even before I get to book 3 which is the conclusion to this trilogy, but I think this is one of the best dark romance storylines, character built, plot I have ever read/listened to。 This may be Rina Kent´s best series yet。 It is mysterious, darkly erotic, intense, thrilling and all these secr Wow, just wow…。 the rollercoaster of mindf*cks continues…。。I knew I would have another cliffy hanging over my head but still couldn’t resist diving into Book 2 of the Deception series。I am going to say this even before I get to book 3 which is the conclusion to this trilogy, but I think this is one of the best dark romance storylines, character built, plot I have ever read/listened to。 This may be Rina Kent´s best series yet。 It is mysterious, darkly erotic, intense, thrilling and all these secrets and twist n turns have me on the edge of my seat。The second book gives us more of a backstory of how Adrian and Lia met, flashbacks to their childhoods and how Lia became Winter as that ties in with the storyline from book one “Vow of Deception”。Adrian & Lia are both complicated characters full of dark secrets that run deep, and this makes the storyline so interesting and had my heart pumping with anxiety the whole time because you are trying to guess the plot but then when you think you have it figured out there is another twist, which may have you confused, and you constantly want to know what is happening next。Their characters also frustrate me, their relationship is complex, to say the least and it´s this constant push and pull between them。 Adrian is powerful being high up in the Russian Mafia。 Our Anti-Hero is ruthless and this dominant possessive alphahole, who seems to show no emotion or feelings from Lia´s point of view and in return Adrian believes Lia despises him because of the way he treats her, and she defies him any way she can。 Let´s talk about the steam level in this book, phew their sexual tension and chemistry is off the roof。 So, I am giving 5 flames for this one。Rina Kent certainly got all the intended feelings, emotions, and reactions out of me with this storyline。Thankfully part 3 Consumed by Deception is only a few weeks away。Also, the audio performances by Desiree Ketchum and Jason Clarke are brilliant。 Desiree drives most of the dual dialogue, but both are deliciously talented giving us an emotional performance with brilliantly executed accents and different voice layers。 I really enjoyed listening to this performance。 Well, we all love Jason´s growly voice and he is just the best Russian Alpha Anti-Hero and again for me does one of the best female voices。 Desiree is becoming one of my favourites, l loved her performance, for me, her performance of Adrian, especially with the Russian accent was spot on。 I wouldn’t mind listening to more of them as an audio pairing。 。。。more

(4。5 ⭐️)I am not okay。 In no shape or form。This is probably the best backstory I’ve read in a romance series。 THE BEST。 When i tell you I screamed, i mean it。I mean, the fact that i finished both books in the same day is quite telling。The story continues with Lia and Adrian。 But this time, we go back to the past, learning about the both of them individually, how they met, and what happens to lead to the events of book one, Vow of Deception。 Saying that I didn’t expect anything will be an underst (4。5 ⭐️)I am not okay。 In no shape or form。This is probably the best backstory I’ve read in a romance series。 THE BEST。 When i tell you I screamed, i mean it。I mean, the fact that i finished both books in the same day is quite telling。The story continues with Lia and Adrian。 But this time, we go back to the past, learning about the both of them individually, how they met, and what happens to lead to the events of book one, Vow of Deception。 Saying that I didn’t expect anything will be an understatement。 The twists and the clues are everywhere。 I felt like Sherlock, trying to make ends meet (and i failed by the way)。 Every time i come up with a theory, it goes down the drain。But the one thing I absolutely LOVED was how this book referenced the first one (in a way)。 So many parallel scenes and scenarios。 I got a lot of my questions answered, BUT i still have more。I am in love with this plot。 It’s not just romance。 It’s not just mafia。 It is (in a way) EVERYTHING。I recommend this to everyone who doesn’t mind a heavy read (and by heavy i mean the book is *heavy* on the spice)。*shooting my shot*Also I’m very down for an ARC for an honest review, because i have no patience and I don’t think i will sleep properly until i read it。*probably misses by miles* 。。。more

This book had depth and a story line that just keeps giving the reader more to ponder and more desire to delve deeper。 Adrian is no hero in this story。 I'm no shrink but he fits the description of one that suffers from a personality disorder which encompasses narcissism, sociopath and psychotic tendencies。 He's not completely crazy but has tendencies to make him a very dark demon like character throughout this book。 The way he now treats Lia (aka Winter) and the way he treated her before has left a shell of a women who suffers from depression and has her own mental demons。 The story line has one twist and turn after another leaving the reader guessing as to what is happening, thus the warning to pay attention。 It's a consuming story that reels in the reader with demons that stalk both of these characters' minds switching from fantasy to reality。 It's a roller coaster ride with a stunning ending (cliff hanger - literally)。 Lia is the victim in this story from the beginning with her mental issues and exacerbated loveless marriage with Adrian。 He is not only mentally cruel but physically cruel as well using punishment as a way of controlling her。 He steps over the line of consequential BDSM by forcing her time and time again into his sick demented need when it comes to sex。 They never just make love; it's always cruel and punishing。 The aftercare she refers to is standard in a BDSM relationship。 It appears in Adrian's world that if he provides her with aftercare after rough raw sex that he is banishing all the evil things he does to her body while having sex。 Her one connection to reality is her son who she adores。 Her imprisonment throughout both books is beyond explainable; with Adrian just doubling down with his jealousy。 How can a man be jealous of a woman he has no feelings for? Apparently with Adrian possession is 9/10 of the equation and that's all she is to him。 I don't see an HEA for these two characters as both are damaged beyond repair。 The mind is a fragile thing and can only deal with so much adversity。 Even if Lia is able to finally accept how screwed up Adrian is she will never be able to survive in this relationship because she loves him and he doesn't know how to love her。 。。。more

Which may sound weird or backwards but if you read the first it actually makes sense。。。。。。。And trust me, you will still be eager for the third and final book! 😀 The sexy and hot love scenes continue。 😘😜 Plus the plot twists and characters do not disappoint。 👍🏽 Just when I thought I was confused, everything fell into place。。。。。I have the same feelings as I did for the characters as I did in the first book, Lia is a broken but still fighting heroine and Adrian is a demanding but hot anti-hero。 I can’t wait to finish the series。。。。💕💕😍 。。。more

Omg!This book was so good。 The twists and turns I didn't see coming。 I didn't stop reading until the end。 I'm heated that I have to wait until next month for the ending, but I know that it will be worth it。 Omg!This book was so good。 The twists and turns I didn't see coming。 I didn't stop reading until the end。 I'm heated that I have to wait until next month for the ending, but I know that it will be worth it。 。。。more

I love most things Rina writes but this trilogy is giving me a headache with all the mystery and mind fluffs。 I love Adrian and Lia, and the story they are telling but it's so confusing to keep up with。。 the twists and turns are ridiculous。。 if you don't like cliffhangers don't read this until the final book is out。。 Book 1 was my favourite and but this one comes in close。 Looking forward to the third installment。 My review of the final book will give me overall thoughts of the trilogy。 I love most things Rina writes but this trilogy is giving me a headache with all the mystery and mind fluffs。 I love Adrian and Lia, and the story they are telling but it's so confusing to keep up with。。 the twists and turns are ridiculous。。 if you don't like cliffhangers don't read this until the final book is out。。 Book 1 was my favourite and but this one comes in close。 Looking forward to the third installment。 My review of the final book will give me overall thoughts of the trilogy。 。。。more

I understand why this book had to happen but I found myself just wanting to get it over so I can read book three to see how it ends! So invested in this series!

I thought the first book was a big mindfu*k but I have to say, this book made me go crazy even more。 The second book tells us about how the real Lia (or maybe the same as in the first book, gosh I have no idea now who’s the real Lia and who is Winter🤯) and Adrian met。 We get to know everything that happened before the plot in the 1st book。 This part is more of a retrospection that should make things clearer, but it only made my mind even more messier than before。 Now I want to finally know who i I thought the first book was a big mindfu*k but I have to say, this book made me go crazy even more。 The second book tells us about how the real Lia (or maybe the same as in the first book, gosh I have no idea now who’s the real Lia and who is Winter🤯) and Adrian met。 We get to know everything that happened before the plot in the 1st book。 This part is more of a retrospection that should make things clearer, but it only made my mind even more messier than before。 Now I want to finally know who is who in this story and what’s real and what’s not。 。。。more

In this continuation of Lia and Adrian’s story we get more of a look into their relationship, how they got together, their life, and what led them to where they were by the end of the first book。 At first it started a little slow for me, but I think that’s because I was wanting to see what would happen next from book one and not the backstory but sticking with it does get more interesting and is details that we need for their story。 Adrian blew me away with how his mind would work, attention to In this continuation of Lia and Adrian’s story we get more of a look into their relationship, how they got together, their life, and what led them to where they were by the end of the first book。 At first it started a little slow for me, but I think that’s because I was wanting to see what would happen next from book one and not the backstory but sticking with it does get more interesting and is details that we need for their story。 Adrian blew me away with how his mind would work, attention to details, etc。 I’m not sure about Lia she is fragile and at times jumps to conclusions, wanting to leave Adrian constantly and I get where she was coming from but at times, she got a little too annoying, she wanted Adrian to love her but always was making bad decisions at time。 This story was a great in sight into their lives and minds。 It’s full of mysteries, had me wondering what would happen next, and very steamy times。 Overall, I really enjoyed it and it is imperative to the story so I can’t wait to see where they go from here。 。。。more

Enjoyable but。。。I love Rina’s dark style of writing but I’m starting to notice a pattern with her main female characters。 I mean, obviously she sticks to this type of trope but her female characters are insane。 Frankly, Lia is dumb as a bag of rocks。 Like, what? She plays this push-pull game with Adrian then magnifies her worst thoughts so they become real to her and when she realizes that her thoughts are messed up, she just retreats even further more into herself。 Adrian shows his love through Enjoyable but。。。I love Rina’s dark style of writing but I’m starting to notice a pattern with her main female characters。 I mean, obviously she sticks to this type of trope but her female characters are insane。 Frankly, Lia is dumb as a bag of rocks。 Like, what? The steamy scenes were still very steamy。 Winkz。 。。。more
