Summary

A sizzling, standalone, feel-good holiday romance from Tessa Bailey, New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Summer。

Two weeks before Christmas and all through Manhattan,
shop windows are decorated in red and green satin。
I'm standing alone in front of the famous Vivant department store,
when a charming man named Aiden asks my opinion of the décor。

It's a tragedy in tinsel, I say, unable to lie。
He asks for a better idea with a twinkle in his eye。
Did I know he owned the place? No。 He put me on the spot。
Now I'm working for that man, trying to ignore that he's hot。
But as a down on her luck girl with a difficult past,
I know an opportunity when I see one—and I have to make it last。

I'll put my heart and soul into dressing his holiday windows。
I'll work without stopping。
And when we lose the battle with temptation,
I'll try and remember I'm just window shopping。

Super cute holiday romance。 Has to be one of my favorite Christmas books I’ve read。 I loved how optimistic Aiden was and how he always tried the see the best in people。 It was a nice change to read about a grumpy girl and sunshine boy。 Tessa always brings the spice too!! Definitely will be recommending this book to everyone!

This book was just ok for me。 It had great moments and I was definitely invested but it was also a little too corny and frustrating at times as I read through it。 Some of the sexy scenes would be ruined with Aidens weird lines but I still enjoyed it a lot。 It was an easy read with just a few cringe moments IMO。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I do not think this is one of her best works。 I felt like the story was very rushed, she could have taken way more time to dive into the background of Stella。 I would've liked to have seen how she evolved to the Stella we are introduced to in the beginning。 I also felt like Aiden's character was very confusing。 He was a suppose to be a Southern gentleman type but a freak in the bed? I mean I definitely like Aiden but I could not get past the bow ties。 I wish he did not have them。 So I mentally b I do not think this is one of her best works。 I felt like the story was very rushed, she could have taken way more time to dive into the background of Stella。 I would've liked to have seen how she evolved to the Stella we are introduced to in the beginning。 I also felt like Aiden's character was very confusing。 He was a suppose to be a Southern gentleman type but a freak in the bed? Aiden Cook is literally a ray of sunshine。Seeing both Aiden and Stella learn to stand up for themselves throughout the book was so heartwarming and made me so proud 🥹This is my first Tessa Bailey read, but I now need to consume more asap。 I want a Jordyn book desperately。I would have loved a longer epilogue about Stella reconnecting with her parents (sod Aidens family) but other than that this book was filled with so much joy, hope, faith and belief in second chances。

Perhaps I’ve just read over my fair share of Christmas stories this season, but this one was just ok for me。 I loved the story line at the beginning…a woman recently released from a 4 year prison sentence who shares her sassy opinion of the store front window displays with the irresistibly adorable owner of the shop。 I loved that first scene and was hooked to see how it all unfolded。 Sadly though, the instant romance didn’t work for me here and just felt awkward。 It also turned real spicy real f Perhaps I’ve just read over my fair share of Christmas stories this season, but this one was just ok for me。 I loved the story line at the beginning…a woman recently released from a 4 year prison sentence who shares her sassy opinion of the store front window displays with the irresistibly adorable owner of the shop。 I loved that first scene and was hooked to see how it all unfolded。 Sadly though, the instant romance didn’t work for me here and just felt awkward。 It also turned real spicy real fast, so if that’s not your thing, I’d avoid this one。 The second half was rough because it abandoned any part of the story and just filled up on the love scenes。 Again, just not my thing but may be amazing for someone else! 。。。more

Lovely story and even better characters!! The audiobook did an amazing job, accents and everything!! The story is so involving and breathtaking。 The background of Stella is so real and how Aiden protects her and still let her have space to grown!! I wasn’t sure what to expect but I enjoyed the quirky analogies sprinkled throughout, the uncommon character traits, as well as the steam! This one gets off to a rather interesting start! It’s reverse grumpy sunshine and we quickly learn that Stella is an ex-con! At first, this one was kinda hard for me to connect to。 For these two being complete opposites, I found it hard to accept that their connection was initially based off of little conversation and heavily on gut feelings or instincts。 It seemed a little cliche to me, but I’m happy to say that the more these two interacted and talked, I was less skeptical of their connection and I thought it was more solid。I respected Stella’s drive to do better for herself after she just spent the last four years in prison。 I also respected her desire to try to gather her bearings and get her footing before getting into a relationship! I appreciated the uniqueness of her job and loved her creativity and the details she brought to the window displays!I’m very much into the holidays myself, so I would love to have a man as obsessed with the holidays as Aiden but that’s not the only thing he has going for him! Do。 Not。 Let Aiden and his bow ties fool you! They fool Stella easily into thinking he’s nothing but a quirky gentleman who has a love for the holidays。 But this man is the ultimate definition of gentleman in the streets and nasty in the sheets! Some of the things these two get into aren’t too common in romance novels so it took things to the next level in the steam department!By the end of the book, I adored the connection these characters had and how they helped each other to grow! I thought the conflict between Stella and her friend was wrapped up fairly quickly and easily but I don’t think the book was meant to be much longer than it was。Favorite Quotes:Don’t trade emotional currency with strangers。 You will never get a refund。She’s window shopping, while I’ve already bought out the whole damn store。 -Aiden 。。。more

I really enjoyed this one, it got me in the festive spirit for sure 🎄I love the setting so much! Christmas in Manhattan sets a gorgeous picture and for a small book I truly felt the world building was well paced and evenly set up 🤞🏻I got past Aidens insta lust for Stella, well。。instantly because under that cute bow tie was a slightly possessive alpha male with some kink in him。 And let’s just all agree that Tessa Bailey can write smut right ? A sweet Christmas romance! Tessa Bailey always writes such fun characters: Stella has recently been released from prison and dreams of being a creator of window displays, and Aiden is a sweet, thoughtful owner and manager of a department store。 Stella discovers her sweeter side and Aiden explores his deeper desires with both finding fulfilment in connecting with each other。

This was an unexpected extra steamy holiday read that I absolutely enjoyed! I enjoyed the love-at-first site trope, the hope about second chances in life and the ultimate message about loving & forgiving yourself even when the world is against you。 Not only was this book steamy。 And when I say steamy…some scenes were R rated so just an FYI! But it was a great story and captured me until the end。 Great, quick read with all the feels and steamy-holiday-romance vibes!
