This really annoyed me

Oof, that was disappointing。 It felt like all plot lines were taken from other series and mashed together。 It read like a ketchup-bologna-tuna sandwich。

besties this book is absolute hot garbage and a literal war crime in comparison to KBB。 a flaw summary: gratuitous, preachy, poorly executed, illogical, inconsistent & infuriating。 that is all。

I'll admit that I wasn't a fan of the first one。 This one had big potential but I felt the plot was rushed in some places (suddenly can use her powers) and slow in others。 I didn't see the plot twist that happened in the end but I'll blame that on low-key rooting against Adrian and Isolde。 I was really waiting for something really redeeming to come out so I could at least give some of their terrible deeds a pass, but alas。 I'll admit that I wasn't a fan of the first one。 This one had big potential but I felt the plot was rushed in some places (suddenly can use her powers) and slow in others。 I didn't see the plot twist that happened in the end but I'll blame that on low-key rooting against Adrian and Isolde。 I was really waiting for something really redeeming to come out so I could at least give some of their terrible deeds a pass, but alas。 。。。more

Very disappointed **spoilers****SPOILERS**Let’s start off with what I did like。 I like the author’s writing style/prose。 I like that we finally figured out how who the “traitor” was at the end。What I didn’t like: (in no particular order) •“I knew Killian had never lost his loyalty to me as his queen, but this was different。 Of anyone in my circle, he was my friend, and he had shown that time and time again。”What? She nearly treated him like crap in book 1 and talked so badly about him that I basically didn’t even like killian。 He was controlling, etc? But now he’s fine? This makes approximately zero sense。 •Women can do no wrong vibes (I go on below) and borderline misandry。 If you hate men, you’ll love this book, I guess。 Author tries to write a world in which misogyny is a major factor。 She succeeds- we see the misogyny at work starting in book 1。 But then she takes it way overboard and writes a story that is sexist。 Men,” she said。 “I am killing men。” I mean… this just highlights what I’ve pointed out above。 Our antagonist is scorned BY MEN so I can’t disprove of her thought process and hating men in return。 THAT is not a bad plot。 But it’s taken so far across appropriate lines IMO。 Read on! “I knew the truth of this world, and the only way to survive as a woman with power was to use it。”🙄“Perhaps you should reflect on why you are always apologizing to me,” I said。 “And change。”Isolde says to Adrian。 Yet he never actually does anything wrong。 Keep reading。 My notes are chaos and I have zero patience at this point to put them in decent order。 Isolde is overly sensitive and twists Adrian’s words nonstop。 She rages and throws tantrums when he says something she perceives as mean。 Yet she intentionally says things to hurt him at times。 And then it’s okay。 🙄🙄🙄🙄“。。too shaken by what had taken place in Cel Ceredi and ***Adrian’s rage***。” Yet she slaps him a couple times with no good excuse。 Cool, I guess when can just slap men when we are annoyed。 She destroys her rooms。 Etc。 SHE has a rage problem。 It’s not cute。 It’s not woman-empowering。 It’s lame。 A strong woman might lose her crap occasionally like any person but she has issues。 Yet all is forgiven and the author writes Adrian as an apologetic victim。 She shook her head。 “I still do not understand why you chose me。” “Because you have a use,” I said and leaned forward in my chair。 So she talks all this crap about Adrian choosing noblesses according to their use and then she literally says this。 What。 MISANDRY VIBESHow many times will a “thickness gather” in her throat, by the way。 On a scale of 1-10 for being likable, I give Isolde a 0。 I don’t know how a character can regress but Isolde did in book 2。 The man-hating mood of the book ruins it for me。 。。。more

this book had me SWEATING 🥵 the twists, turns, the betrayals, THE CLIFF HANGER。 im so sad i’ll have to wait probably another year for the conclusion。

To be honest I found myself confused a lot, especially at the ending。 I also wish the beginning gave more context back to the first book because I had forgotten a lot of details which also left me confused。 Some of the plot points felt rushed。I do like though that this book has a different feel than some others of the genre。 I am actively routing against all the characters, which is fun!

I did not see THAT coming。 Or should I say those? Damn

Recovering from the losses, betrayal, and new revelations of their recent battle, Isolde and Adrian still have plenty of trouble coming their way。 But there are plenty of lights in the darkness。 The most important is Isolde remembering who she was in her past life and being reunited with Adrian。 They still have a lot to overcome and learn about one another but in the end they always find a way back to each other。 Together they will have to find a way to stop the forces that threaten to tear them Recovering from the losses, betrayal, and new revelations of their recent battle, Isolde and Adrian still have plenty of trouble coming their way。 But there are plenty of lights in the darkness。 The most important is Isolde remembering who she was in her past life and being reunited with Adrian。 They still have a lot to overcome and learn about one another but in the end they always find a way back to each other。 Together they will have to find a way to stop the forces that threaten to tear them and their home apart。 While also become unwilling chess pieces in the game of the goddesses。 Plenty of romance, action, secrets, betrayals, and just about anything you can expect in a fantasy world like this。 This story will keep you on your toes from beginning to end。 The world is interesting and different from other vampire and fantasy books I have read。 Another great book in this series and I'm looking forward to the next one! 。。。more

Definitely not as good as the first one。 The “romance” was gratuitous and the story took a long time to develop。 I know this is a style of fantasy, but it felt like the last 15% had all this rushed action instead of a well-crafted plot throughout。

Gp

This was just fine, needed more character development。

Whatever Ms。 St。 Clair writes, I'mma read it。 I don't do too well with cliffhangers tho😭。 Isolde's growth is refreshing, I love Adrain; dude would do anything for his wife。 The plot is really really good and the spicy scenes are really🥵。 When do we get the next book???😭😭😭😭 Whatever Ms。 St。 Clair writes, I'mma read it。 I don't do too well with cliffhangers tho😭。 Isolde's growth is refreshing, I love Adrain; dude would do anything for his wife。 The plot is really really good and the spicy scenes are really🥵。 When do we get the next book???😭😭😭😭 。。。more

I was completely obsessed with the first book in this series- King of Battle and Blood。 It had me captivated。 I was so excited for this book, which is the second in the series。 However, I am very let down by this。 The pacing was so off and choppy, as was the plot。 The characters didn’t feel quite the same。 It’s like their relationship regressed。 I’m giving it two stars because the narrators of the audio book were FANTASTIC。 I can confidently say they’re the best narrators I’ve ever heard, especi I was completely obsessed with the first book in this series- King of Battle and Blood。 It had me captivated。 I was so excited for this book, which is the second in the series。 However, I am very let down by this。 The pacing was so off and choppy, as was the plot。 The characters didn’t feel quite the same。 It’s like their relationship regressed。 I’m giving it two stars because the narrators of the audio book were FANTASTIC。 I can confidently say they’re the best narrators I’ve ever heard, especially the one for the fmc’s perspective。 But the book as a whole was unimpressive。 I will not be continuing with the series。 。。。more

I had so many high hopes for this one。 It, unfortunately, was quite the struggle to get through。 I've had worse struggles, but it still was。 For the majority of the book all Adrian and Isolde did was fight then fuck。 It got old after a while。 It also ended kind of abruptly, which always unsettles me。 I hope the next one is a lot better。 I had so many high hopes for this one。 It, unfortunately, was quite the struggle to get through。 I've had worse struggles, but it still was。 For the majority of the book all Adrian and Isolde did was fight then fuck。 It got old after a while。 It also ended kind of abruptly, which always unsettles me。 I hope the next one is a lot better。 。。。more

So good。 However I felt that the majority of this book was the spice, which sometimes was not needed or just overloaded。 Still loved this book though。 The ending had me shocked。 Now I have to wait for the next book to come out :(

4。5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨It was good! It felt like a lot of filler to me - but a lot of really important things happened at the same time? There was a lot of fighting then makeup sex, fighting then makeup sex。。 which is great and all don’t get me wrong it just got to be a little redundant。 I guess i was just hoping for a little bit more development in there relationship。 I can’t wait for the next one! 😍4。5/5🌶️

I absolutely loved this book。 I was anxiously awaiting it’s release after KBB, and it did not disappoint! There is quite a bit of much needed backstory that we get from this book。 I don’t like spoiling anything for others so no spoilers here just my thoughts/feelings。 I felt so much in this book。 You can feel the turbulence in Isolde’s feelings, everything she knows unraveling around her。 Memories she is struggling to recall and reconcile with the present。 Trying to piece together the current re I absolutely loved this book。 I was anxiously awaiting it’s release after KBB, and it did not disappoint! Of course。 It all comes together the more we learn throughout this book though。 It’s not just about being a vampire or a “monster”。 The cliffhanger ending? I will ever so impatiently await book 3。❤️ 。。。more

Going into this book I was seeing some worrying reviews。 However I loved the first book and I loved this one。 I loved that Adrian and Isolde fought (A LOT) because it was definitely more realistic that everything is not sunshine and rainbows。 The betrayals were absolutely insane and I was hooked。 There is also a lot of smut so that was fun LMAO。 I am so sad that the next one doesn’t come out until 2024 :(

great book… just a frustrating readWhile I think this is a great sequel to KoBB, the characters just frustrated me so much。 I feel like the love I was hoping to see was constantly overshadowed by the independent hard-headednness of the characters。 I love the storyline but I feel nothing but frustration towards Adrian and Isolde for their continual opposing plans。 While I am anxious to continue the story and wait for the next book, I genuinely hope Adrian and Isolde can have a little more even fo great book… just a frustrating readWhile I think this is a great sequel to KoBB, the characters just frustrated me so much。 I feel like the love I was hoping to see was constantly overshadowed by the independent hard-headednness of the characters。 I love the storyline but I feel nothing but frustration towards Adrian and Isolde for their continual opposing plans。 While I am anxious to continue the story and wait for the next book, I genuinely hope Adrian and Isolde can have a little more even footing in their relationship。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this story, I was a big fan of king of battle and blood and have been so excited for this book - it is definitely more focused on character development than actual plot I feel but it works so well。 Isolde is such an amazing female within this story and I loved reading her development throughout。 She’s such an incredible inspirational women, it’s so refreshing to see。 The only downside is I wish there was more Adrian POV but it wasn’t a need - the story flowed well and was engagi I really enjoyed this story, I was a big fan of king of battle and blood and have been so excited for this book - it is definitely more focused on character development than actual plot I feel but it works so well。 Isolde is such an amazing female within this story and I loved reading her development throughout。 She’s such an incredible inspirational women, it’s so refreshing to see。 The only downside is I wish there was more Adrian POV but it wasn’t a need - the story flowed well and was engaging throughout。 I’m really excited for the 3rd book, I’m absolutely in love with Isolde, Adrian, Ava and Killian。 。。。more
