I think this a great book for busy moms and dads who want to throw a quick and homemade meal together to feed a family。 The recipes are approachable and most of them would appeal to a variety of palates, including kiddos。 I liked the pictures and thought the guide for food sensitives/allergies was very helpful (if a bit confusing, in this book SF is sesame free not soy free)。 Being a person with food sensitives and raising a person with food sensitivities, this was a great touch in a book with r I think this a great book for busy moms and dads who want to throw a quick and homemade meal together to feed a family。 The recipes are approachable and most of them would appeal to a variety of palates, including kiddos。 I liked the pictures and thought the guide for food sensitives/allergies was very helpful (if a bit confusing, in this book SF is sesame free not soy free)。 Being a person with food sensitives and raising a person with food sensitivities, this was a great touch in a book with recipes for everyone。I don't use prepared items, generally, when I am cooking。 The number of onion soup mixes, prepared dressing, prepared seasonings, etc was off putting。 Again the book is about getting food on the table in a hurry, so this is kinda the purpose of the premade things。 It just isn't very healthy or the way I run my kitchen。 I thought it was odd that the author would use so much prepared items in something simple like pot roast, but then also include a recipe for homemade hummus。 Homemade hummus is delicious, but easy, inexpensive, and relatively clean to buy already prepared。 The recipes were just a little inconsistent, as in this example。 I love to cook and I love cookbooks, which is why this well-written book was not for me。 I do think it would be a good one for a busy family who does not ordinarily cook much, to learn from and work toward more homecooked meals。 。。。more
