This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I love Emily’s mission， work and wisdom and have read each one of her books。 She’s also inspires me to go after what I love， even if it looks different from what other people are doing。 I enjoyed Growing Boldly， especially parts 4 and 5。 The final few pages are what warmed my heart the most。 The only reason it’s not 5 stars for me is I felt like I had already heard some of the stories/messages on Emily’s social media or podcast， so it wasn’t a lot of new information or ideas for me。 But overall I love Emily’s mission， work and wisdom and have read each one of her books。 She’s also inspires me to go after what I love， even if it looks different from what other people are doing。 I enjoyed Growing Boldly， especially parts 4 and 5。 The final few pages are what warmed my heart the most。 The only reason it’s not 5 stars for me is I felt like I had already heard some of the stories/messages on Emily’s social media or podcast， so it wasn’t a lot of new information or ideas for me。 But overall it was a nice， uplifting read！ 。。。more

There were parts of this book that I really enjoyed: the beautiful design， inspirational stories， learning more about Emily。 I found some of the content beneficial and helpful in reminding me to seize my life。 What I couldn’t handle was the over-the-top religious tone。 It felt like every page practically referenced god and not everyone shares her faith or her god， so that part of the book did not feel very inclusive。 And， it wasn’t necessary。。。 I don’t feel referencing “god’s kingdom” was a crit There were parts of this book that I really enjoyed: the beautiful design， inspirational stories， learning more about Emily。 I found some of the content beneficial and helpful in reminding me to seize my life。 What I couldn’t handle was the over-the-top religious tone。 It felt like every page practically referenced god and not everyone shares her faith or her god， so that part of the book did not feel very inclusive。 And， it wasn’t necessary。。。 I don’t feel referencing “god’s kingdom” was a critical part of the message she was trying to convey about growing boldly。 I can handle a little bit of that stuff， but this book had WAY more religious references than every other book I’ve read by Emily and it’s super disappointing to me。 As someone who doesn’t share her views， it was gross and made me think this should’ve been clearly labeled as a Christian book vs。 coming across like an inspirational or personal development book。I admire Emily for her business acumen， follow her on social media， etc。， but I think she needs to be more inclusive in future books — not word vomiting about a Christian god that not everyone believes in that， I felt， really took away from what otherwise could’ve been a great book。 。。。more
