Summary

All rise for the newest Yankee hero--newly updated to include his 2022 run to 62 homers!

At 6-foot-7 and 285 pounds, Aaron Judge emerged as the biggest story in baseball in 2017 with his monstrous home runs and record-breaking ability。 A three-sport athlete in high school and a Division I ballplayer at Fresno State, the Californian was drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round in 2013 and made it to the majors by August 2016。 Homering in his first major league at-bat and starting in right field straight out of spring training in 2017, he gave Yankees fans hope for the future, along with "Baby Bombers" teammates such as Gary Sanchez。

After a rough start in which he batted below 。200 and struck out in over 40 percent of his plate appearances after joining the Yankees, Judge turned things around and helped get his team off to a fast start in 2017 with 10 homers in April alone, tying the rookie record for the month。 He then broke the legendary Joe DiMaggio’s team record for most round trippers by the All-Star break with 30, including one that measured at 495 feet。

His mounting popularity enabled him to receive more All-Star votes than any American League player and to the creation of the "Judge's Chambers" section located in the right-field stands of Yankee Stadium。 Judge's momentum next led to him winning the 2017 Home Run Derby where he smashed a total of 47, four of which traveled more than 500 feet。 It's no wonder that baseball commissioner Rob Manfred has said that Judge is a player "who can become the face of the game。" In Aaron Judge: The Incredible Story of the New York Yankees' Home Run-Hitting Phenom, David Fischer brings the exciting story of the Yankees' newest superstar to life。

A good time to read a bio on the best player in baseball today。Judge set an American League single-season record 62 home runs in 2022 and, after New York flamed-out of the ALCS (semi-finals), he enters the off-season as the most coveted free agent, set to be offered the richest contract in baseball history。I wondered if the book would hold any clues on what Judge might do or where he might go? Judge was adopted by his parents in the small town of Linden, California, where he was known for being down-to-earth and humble。 He excelled at a number of sports from an early age and settled on baseball。 The Yankees selected him at pick 32 in the 2013 draft。The book covers the highlights and stats from his rise through the majors, that has captured the imagination of baseball fans everywhere。At 6-7, 128 kilograms, Judge is a mountain of a player, but besides the power of his bat, plays stellar defense in right field, moving well for a big guy with a cannon of an arm。In the coming weeks, Judge will make the toughest decision of his professional career。 He could stay in New York and make another run at a championship with the team that drafted him, or move on elsewhere。Recurring heartbreak at the hands of the Houston Astros has been tough。 Will it have any effect on his decision? Other players have been known to choose a fresh start after unsuccessful campaigns with their original teams。His hometown of Linden is 100 miles out of San Francisco。 Will the attraction of going home, see him in a Giants uniform next season?Or will he remain in New York, New York, where ‘if he can make it there, he’ll make it anywhere。 It's up to you’… er, him。 。。。more

I think the theme is pride。 I think the theme is pride because the main character never give up always keeps trying there hardest and working to perfect there skills。 I also think the theme is pride because the main character was from a small town in California and is now playing baseball in New York city。

I am currently reading this book about the face of the young Yankees team that I have loved my whole life。 He has only been in the MLB for about 2 seasons。 The author did a great job by interviewing some people which help the readers see what a star he is。 I only read a little bit and I feel like I want to read it more and more。 I’m excited to see what else the book is about。
