Summary

Some people greet the day with open arms。 Sheriff Sunshine Vicram would rather give it a hearty shove and get back into bed, because there’s just too much going on right now。 There’s a series of women going missing, and Sunny feels powerless to stop it。 There’s her persistent and awesomely-rebellious daughter Auri, who’s out to singlehandedly become Del Sol’s youngest and fiercest investigator。 And then there’s drama with Levi Ravinder—the guy she’s loved and lusted after for years。 The guy who might just be her one and only。 The guy who comes from a family of disingenuous vipers looking to oust him—and Sunshine—for good。

Like we said, the new day can take a hike。

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a good job。 I enjoyed the story and while everything seemed to be wrapped up the book gave me more of a HFN vibe。

Dear Darynda: Thank you for no cliffhanger。 Though now I am worried this book finished out Sunshine's story。 Please say it ain't so!!! While Sun and Levi appear to be headed for their long-term HEA, they DO live in Del Sol and I'm not ready to say goodbye to Auri and Cruz, the Daughters and Sons, the boy band, or any of the other quirky denizens of the place。 Personally, I'd move to Del Sol in a heartbeat。 Sadly, it only exists in your most excellent imagination。 Thank you, and pleaseplease Dear Darynda: Thank you for no cliffhanger。 Though now I am worried this book finished out Sunshine's story。 Please say it ain't so!!! Most sincerely and pleadingly, a HUGE FAN。Dear Readers, yup。 I loved this book。 Like damn and whoah。 It takes up right after the end of book 2 so I would suggest of reread of that book AND book 1 because why deny yourself the zany cool that is this series? No spoilers。 There are threads that are tied off。 There are new threads hinted at (hence my hope for another book or 10! Though at the rate of 1 a year I might not live to see the end。 Older than dirt here, people!) Anyway, Darynda continues with the snarky humor, the gut-wrenching emotion, and heaping helpings of crazysauce, more twists than a sidewinder's trail in the desert sand, and a satisfying ending。 Which only whets my appetite for more。 5 awesomesauce stars for Darynda and for Lorelei King, a favorte narrator who has made these characters her own。 。。。more

I actually bought this book because I couldn’t wait for the final installment to reach my library。 I have no regrets。 This may be my least favorite book of the three。 I can’t put my finger in it exactly, but there was something just meh about Levi in this book that seemed inconsistent compared to the others。 Also, Auri’s “investigations” are once again just a little too over the top。 I wish there had been a little more of Hailey in the story too。 That said, it’s a fun trilogy that felt like a de I actually bought this book because I couldn’t wait for the final installment to reach my library。 I have no regrets。 This may be my least favorite book of the three。 I can’t put my finger in it exactly, but there was something just meh about Levi in this book that seemed inconsistent compared to the others。 Also, Auri’s “investigations” are once again just a little too over the top。 I wish there had been a little more of Hailey in the story too。 That said, it’s a fun trilogy that felt like a deliciously guilty pleasure。 。。。more

Hard day for a hangover was everything I wanted and more。 Great ending to another fabulous series by Ms Jones。 I love this author’s sense of humor and writing style。 She has a way of creating characters that stick with you long after the last page: Sunshine, Quince, Auri, Cruz, Levi and Randi (with an i) were no different。 I enjoyed the subtle reference to her other series too-made me feel part of the inside joke。 Can’t wait to see what Ms Jones cooks up next。

A fantastic finale to Jones’ trilogy。 Full of quick witted sarcasm, police procedural, and a bit of angsty romance。 Absolutely entertaining from start to finish。 Highly recommended! Thanks to #NetGalley for the ARC of #AHardDayForAHangover which was read and reviewed voluntarily。

3 1/2 stars。 Humor, action, snark, quirky characters and mystery。 Darynda Jones has a winner in this third installation of the Sunshine Vicram series。 I had not read the rest of the series but it was easy to understand what was going on even though it is obvious there was a lot of backstory I missed that would have added to the story。There were a lot of characters but they had more depth than I was expecting and were easy to keep separate。 This sort of story would never have worked in a large to 3 1/2 stars。 Humor, action, snark, quirky characters and mystery。 Darynda Jones has a winner in this third installation of the Sunshine Vicram series。 I had not read the rest of the series but it was easy to understand what was going on even though it is obvious there was a lot of backstory I missed that would have added to the story。There were a lot of characters but they had more depth than I was expecting and were easy to keep separate。 This sort of story would never have worked in a large town or a city but worked perfectly in a small town。 But this wasn't a cozy。 Sunshine is the sheriff who started the day with a hangover and soon lots of trouble。 The local exposer had been stabbed, her teenage daughter had fallen in love and there was indication of a serial killer in the area。 There were some dark moments but plenty of humor to keep it from being depressing。 The culprit, I thought, was a bit obvious but there was action and a variety of things going on to keep the reader interested to the last page。 I will definitely be reading the rest of the series。Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in return for an honest opinion。 。。。more

Sunshine Vicram is suffering from a hangover when her life starts to spin out of control。 Her daughter, her job and her love life are all in jeopardy。 But Sunshine is the type of woman that can totally handle her stuff。 She rocks! Yes things get hairy, but she always manages to come out on top。 I really loved this book。 I really wish we were getting more from Sunshine and company! At least we know we will get more from Darynda and that is what’s important。5 stars for the Sunshine series!

There is just too much going on in this book to give a super duper quick summary。 But Sunshine Vicram is still the sarcastic, independent, wonderful person you'd like to have for a best friend。 That hasn't changed! What has changed, or evolved, are the other characters。 With each installment in this delightful series, the other residents of Del Sol are more realized。 And while there was a lot of action in this book, the book seemed to still manage to focus on both Sunshine and her daughter Auri。 There is just too much going on in this book to give a super duper quick summary。 But Sunshine Vicram is still the sarcastic, independent, wonderful person you'd like to have for a best friend。 That hasn't changed!
