Summary

From USA Today Bestselling Author A。 M。 Wilson comes a brand new steamy, small town romance!

A dog named Slipper almost ruined my life。

The uncatchable stray snuck on the patio where I was waitressing and knocked me straight into Lee Powell's lap。

My fist slammed into his junk。

Then I accidentally flipped his breakfast platter onto his pants。

I thought it couldn't get any worse, but when I bring my brother to baseball practice, I discover his new coach is none other than Lee, owner and founder of Powell Dog Sanctuary, and he's not happy to see me。

I try to keep my distance from the hottest grump I've ever seen and ignore what it felt like curled against his broad, muscled chest。

But a bad case of the flu changes everything。

He stumbles on to my biggest secret and reveals a few of his own。 He can't seem to stay away from me。 He says he's too old for me, but I couldn't care less when he makes me feel cherished。

But then his past raises its ugly head, and he breaks our connection in a moment of suspicion。

Lee's afraid of being hurt again, but I'm the one left abandoned。

Going into Abandoned, I had reservations。 I'm not much into the age gap, especially when you start throwing in "daddy" into sexual relationships。A。M。 Wilson had me hooked from the first chapter。 I was drawn in by the abandonment issues Lee has。 His feeling, his actions, they're all very real。 It's what you would expect from someone who went through the hardships he did as a child。 His character was beautifully written and perfectly constructed。 Juniper is tough as hell。 From holding two jobs to Going into Abandoned, I had reservations。 I'm not much into the age gap, especially when you start throwing in "daddy" into sexual relationships。A。M。 Wilson had me hooked from the first chapter。 I was drawn in by the abandonment issues Lee has。 His feeling, his actions, they're all very real。 It's what you would expect from someone who went through the hardships he did as a child。 His character was beautifully written and perfectly constructed。 Juniper is tough as hell。 From holding two jobs to dealing with her father and everything else she takes on in between, she doesn't let it break her。 She's very determined and very focused。 I love how A。M。 Wilson doesn't turn her into one of those girls who lose sight of what they're fighting for because they met a guy。 A。M。 Wilson always does an amazing job bringing characters to life and giving them such a realistic quality that it's hard to not see them as real people coming off the pages。 She, once again, did an amazing job!Highly recommend reading it! 。。。more

Enjoyable Age Gap Some trigger warning Really enjoyed this book! I loved Juniper and Lincoln’s relationship and sibling bond along with the Powell family sibling bond! But Lee and Juniper are so compatible and I really enjoyed their story line! I can’t wait to read the rest of the Powell family stories。

It's been a while since I last read a book by AM Wilson but dang did I not regret picking this one up。 I absolutely loved Lee and Juniper's story。 The author did amazing with the grumpy/sunshine dynamic and trope for their story。 I was enthralled by these two right from the start and up until the very last page。 I absolutely loved this book! Juniper and Lee are like the sun and the moon。 Or are they? Lee has always been guarded its his nature do to his past。 Juniper is friendly and outgoing seemingly living a tough but good life。But these really are more alike then they know and a little arrangement between friends is about to prove once again that A。M。 Wilson weaves a beautiful tale of broken pieces and what it takes to build something better and stronger with a little romance magic。I have voluntarily left this review。

What I thought was a simple age-gap romance with a bit of humor thrown in。。。 after all, there's a runaway dog and an uncomfortable below-the-belt almost injury that defines our couple's first meeting。 But there are some not-so-lighthearted themes and angst in this book as well。 Juniper is working two jobs and trying to keep her younger brother safe in a house that is not the happy home it was before the loss of their mother。 She meets Lee, who is known to her, considering their small town, thank What I thought was a simple age-gap romance with a bit of humor thrown in。。。 after all, there's a runaway dog and an uncomfortable below-the-belt almost injury that defines our couple's first meeting。 But there are some not-so-lighthearted themes and angst in this book as well。 Juniper is working two jobs and trying to keep her younger brother safe in a house that is not the happy home it was before the loss of their mother。 She meets Lee, who is known to her, considering their small town, thanks to the beforementioned dog incident。 And as luck would have it, he's now her brother's new baseball coach。 There might be another degree or two of separation between them as well。。。and a 15-year age gap。 At almost 40 to Juniper's 25, Lee knows he should stay away, but there's something that draws him to both her and her brother。 But this oldest of six has protective instincts a mile wide, and Juniper and Lincoln now fall under that umbrella。Their pairing is both very sexy and impossibly sweet。 There are of course secrets being kept that will eventually blow up and test their relationship。 But the journey there is very interesting and the conclusion oh so satisfying。 Abandoned gets 4。5 stars from this reader。 。。。more

Abandoned is a great grumpy/sunshine, age gap romance。Juniper is working as a waitress and taking care of her younger brother, since her dad only wants to drink since the death of her mother。 She has a run in with Lee at work。 He is a real grump。 And quiet a bit older than she is。Turns out he is also now the coach of her brothers baseball team, so these two end up spending quite a bit of time together。They grow close, and Lee denies his feeling and jumps to conclusions on a few things。 A good re Abandoned is a great grumpy/sunshine, age gap romance。Juniper is working as a waitress and taking care of her younger brother, since her dad only wants to drink since the death of her mother。 She has a run in with Lee at work。 He is a real grump。 And quiet a bit older than she is。Turns out he is also now the coach of her brothers baseball team, so these two end up spending quite a bit of time together。They grow close, and Lee denies his feeling and jumps to conclusions on a few things。 A good read。 。。。more

I'm going to start out by saying the first meeting between Juniper & Lee had me rolling for the longest time because that's the kind of thing that would happen to me, dog named Slipper included LOL! I'm not normally a person that questions the realism of a book, but in this case I really have to say that the relationship develops WAY too quickly。 Between them meeting and their declarations of love, only a few weeks pass。 And they don't actually spend that much time together which just makes me question what exactly they liked about each other, because they don't actually get to know each other that deeply。 There were quite a few spicy scenes, but I think they would have benefitted from bein I'm not normally a person that questions the realism of a book, but in this case I really have to say that the relationship develops WAY too quickly。 Between them meeting and their declarations of love, only a few weeks pass。 And they don't actually spend that much time together which just makes me question what exactly they liked about each other, because they don't actually get to know each other that deeply。 There were quite a few spicy scenes, but I think they would have benefitted from being a bit longer instead of being so frequent (or just do both)。 It was just from 0 to 100 every time, which is not my cup of tea and felt a little jarring at times。 I did like Lee's and Juniper's backstories and how it pushed the storyline forward and the side characters were great too。 Age gaps can be a little bit tricky and I do think that was handled well and realistically。 Overall I'm not mad about the book, I didn't actively dislike it, I just wanted a little bit more from it。 I think it would have been better to just have a few more pages to get to know the characters better and develop their relationship more slowly and in depth。 I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more
