Lamenting the fact that her twin sons were now two hours away in college， and her husband who was rarely home because of business trips， Lacey receives an envelope that contains a picture of her husband and a younger woman with a young child smiling; on the back it simply says "McNeils"。Lacey and Robert's last name。 I liked this book， truly I did， but Lacey's blatant refusal to accept the photograph was real and her constant paranoia that the whole town was talking about her， because she， a marr Lamenting the fact that her twin sons were now two hours away in college， and her husband who was rarely home because of business trips， Lacey receives an envelope that contains a picture of her husband and a younger woman with a young child smiling; on the back it simply says "McNeils"。Lacey and Robert's last name。 I liked this book， truly I did， but Lacey's blatant refusal to accept the photograph was real and her constant paranoia that the whole town was talking about her， because she， a married woman， befriended a single man and was traipsing all over town to solve the mystery of this photogram with him， really annoyed me。 Woman， keeping up appearances is so last decade。 We no longer care what the Jones' and the Smiths' think about us， darling。 Thomas， a traveling photographer， was my favorite character。 He added that bit of mystery that we needed above the laborious hunt to find someone to tell poor Lacey that the picture was fake and no one was "out to get her"。 He is warm， caring， and all in when it comes to trying to figure out what is going on with Robert。 Add in her best friend， Julia， who is a local eatery owner， and you have a trio who is determined to get to the bottom of what's going on。 Robert suddenly shows up at a wedding that Lacey is at and is acting weird。 I didn't really care for him; he's a very cold and calculating man who is also a giant coward。 Sage Parker knows how to suck her readers in。 Her writing is strong and keeps you turning the pages to find out what's going on next WARNING: This book does end on a cliffhanger; all installments must be read in order to understand what's going on。 This is a serial with new installments released each week。 I can't wait to see what happens in the second installment。 If you'll excuse me， I need to see what they find out！ DISCLAIMER: I borrowed this book through my Kindle Unlimited subscription。 。。。more
