Summary

It’s been over a year since Sam McQuaid has been back home to Shadow Ridge, and this time, he’s returning with a bounty on his head。

Welcome to Shadow Ridge, where LONGMIRE meets JERICHO。

From USA Today Best-selling author Lisa Harris comes an epic new series where the survival of Shadow Ridge depends on learning how to fight crime all over again。

In today’s world, law enforcement agencies across the country rely on forensic tools, DNA testing, and crime labs。 But what if that technology was suddenly no longer available? No one in the small, west Texas town of Shadow Ridge knows what took down the power grid, or when it’s going to be back up, but everyone knows exactly where they were the moment it went down。 And now, with no electricity, no internet, and no modern technology, the men and women responsible for keeping the town safe are going to have to learn how to fight crime all over again。

Will Rebecca realize where the real danger lies before it is too late? This is a fast-paced, clean, highly intriguing, and thought-provoking novel which I recommend。I was given an ARC of this book。 The opinions expressed above are strictly my own。 。。。more

Deception is the newest installment in the Fallout series by Lisa Harris。 I was excited to finally get Sam's story because he was the McQuaid sibling who did not make it home before the blackout。 It was good to see that he finally makes it home, but he has quite the action-packed page-turning trek to get there。 Sam was a part of a caravan traveling back to Texas when he meets Sheriff Rebecca after their caravan is attacked while passing through her town。 Once again, it was intriguing to see how Deception is the newest installment in the Fallout series by Lisa Harris。 I was excited to finally get Sam's story because he was the McQuaid sibling who did not make it home before the blackout。 It was good to see that he finally makes it home, but he has quite the action-packed page-turning trek to get there。 Sam was a part of a caravan traveling back to Texas when he meets Sheriff Rebecca after their caravan is attacked while passing through her town。 Once again, it was intriguing to see how crimes are solved and day to day life is accomplished without any power。 It was also interesting to see how other areas outside of Shadow Ridge have adjusted to life once the power went out。 Although this story has it's own mystery that can be read as a standalone, readers continue to get more information in each book about who is behind the blackout so I would definitely recommend reading the others in the series first if you haven't already。Thank you to the author for a copy of this story。 All opinions expressed are entirely my own。 。。。more

Deception, book 4 in the Fallout series by Lisa Harris is a great book! Sam McQuaid tries to help Sheriff Rebecca Holt put a stop to rampant looting and killing by lawless gangs。 It will take all of the strength and faith they can muster to stay alive。 This is action packed, hard to put down, with a touch of romance and a thread of faith throughout。 There are unexpected twists to make things even more interesting。 I highly recommend this book! Wow! The action starts on page one and keeps you turning pages until you reach the end。 Deception has solid characters that you’ll enjoy getting to know and the whole premise for this book and the series is intriguing as well as disturbing。 Harris paints a realistic picture, I think, of how society would spiral if the grid went down。 Each book has a crime that is solved and this one is no exception。 But, the over-arching crime, who brought the grid down and why, is still unsolved。 If you like po Wow! Goodness! The new book in the Fallout Series by Lisa Harris is the best one yet! With spine-tingling, non-stop action and tension ratcheting up as the danger closes in, the story of Sam McQuaid, former firegfighter/paramedic and overall good guy is one that is unforgettable。 Sam is in a caravan traveling to Texas from Colorado when the caravan is attacked。 This scene sets the tone for the whole story…one horrifying event leads to a chain of others that have Sam falling in love and then running f Goodness! I love this series! You need to check it out。 Each of these nonstop action "what if" suspense stories, about the grid going down and life as we know it being completely altered, introduces us to a different member of the McQuaid family。Up until now these addicting and fast paced stories have taken place in Shadow Ridge, Texas。 Now in "Deception", we find out how dangerous it has been around the country as well。 Sam McQuaid hasn't been home in a year, and wants nothing more than to see his family I love this series! Author Lisa Harris hits it out of the park with these well imagined "what if" stories!Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an early copy。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

I was waiting for this one for a while now and was so excited when this one hit my kindle。 From the first sentence, this story started out strong and filled with action and suspense which did not end。I loved how the author took Sam's story from the present to the past to show the reader the journey Sam was on to get back to his family。Up until book 3, readers experienced the blackout from the members of Shadow Ridge and neighbouring towns, so it was intriguing to see how other parts of the count I was waiting for this one for a while now and was so excited when this one hit my kindle。 From the first sentence, this story started out strong and filled with action and suspense which did not end。I loved how the author took Sam's story from the present to the past to show the reader the journey Sam was on to get back to his family。Up until book 3, readers experienced the blackout from the members of Shadow Ridge and neighbouring towns, so it was intriguing to see how other parts of the country experienced and survived。 Readers, along with the characters, also learned more about who is behind the blackout。Sam's personal journey and struggles with his faith was also a highlight for me。“I think most of the time we don't stop long enough to be still and hear his voice。 We’re so busy being distracted。” There was one character I've met and had this feeling he is not all he pretends to be, which ended up being a valid feeling。“It was something he’d always wanted to be。 Open to God’s calling, and willing to do the hard stuff。 But finding the faith to walk on water was never easy。”I loved the reunion between Sam and his family。By the time I finished this book, I was not ready to say goodbye。*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher。 All opinions expressed are my own。* 。。。more
