this was a great start to the Mysteries of Moonlight Manor series， it has great characters and a great plot。 I was invested in what was going on and enjoyed the way Molly Fitz writes a mystery。I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review。

Moonlight and Mischief is the first book in the Mysteries of Moonlight Manor series。 The main character in all three books， Sydney Coleman， needs a fresh start after being fired and dumped by her boss/boyfriend。 She wants to get out of New York City， but doesn't want to return to her hometown in Iowa。 Sydney decides to buy a huge old house in Misty Meadows， Maine to turn into a bed and breakfast。 However， Sydney didn't know that along with the beautiful architecture and antique furnishings， the Moonlight and Mischief is the first book in the Mysteries of Moonlight Manor series。 The main character in all three books， Sydney Coleman， needs a fresh start after being fired and dumped by her boss/boyfriend。 She wants to get out of New York City， but doesn't want to return to her hometown in Iowa。 Sydney decides to buy a huge old house in Misty Meadows， Maine to turn into a bed and breakfast。 However， Sydney didn't know that along with the beautiful architecture and antique furnishings， the house also came with ghosts！ The two human and one feline ghosts insist that Sydney solve the case of their murdered mistress before accepting any guests。 If Sydney wants her Bed and Breakfast to have a chance at being a success， she needs to solve this very cold case。 I really enjoyed the cute， fast-paced story and liked getting to know Sydney and the three spirits living in the house。 The first part of the book is about the changes in Sydney's life and the preparations she is making for her new business， and the sleuthing comes later in the book。 Once Sydney commits to investigating the death of the former mistress of the house， she proves herself to be a clever amateur sleuth。 It was a nice change from many cozy series to have the local sheriff， Haley Allen， be so cooperative when Sydney presents her findings。Another standout character in the book is Sydney's new friend， Frannie Clark， who runs the local bakery。 She is kind and quickly becomes a good friend to newcomer， Sydney。 I enjoyed the book and would rate it 4。5 stars。 I will be reading the next two books as soon as possible so I can find out what's in store for Sydney and her new friends in Misty Meadows。 I received a copy of this ebook from the author at no cost， but my review is voluntary and unbiased。 。。。more

Starting out with a demoralizing and humiliating incident， this book turns around quickly。 I enjoyed meeting the residents of Moonlight Manor and the town of Misty Meadows。 The ghosts were a pleasant surprise， I greatly enjoyed having them in the story！ The characters seem to be wonderful people （and ghosts）…except Gladys。 I can’t wait to find out what happens next！
